I wouldn't be surprised if EA does this deliberately to destroy EASHL clubs, so they can say "nobody plays it anymore, so we're shutting it down" - they seem to think NHL esports is about 1v1 gaming anyways, zero attempt to create something equivalent for EASHL clubs.

I understand the dev team trying to be innovative and they should, I'm sure it was with good intentions and maybe theoretically it could of worked. However taking away the option to play playoffs or not is a Huge mistake because its 17+ days. Give us (your customers) a choice playoffs or not / indoor or outdoor drop ins are two examples recently, too many times ( I'm sure with good intentions I'll say it again) changes are made but it feels like its shoved down are throats.

How about all these high ranked players and team dropping to Div 10 when playoffs start? It’s gross. That’s a community thing. I also agree that EA is the enabler of that environment.

How hard can it be to confess, that this format completly is making no sense, no fun, no whatssoever.
We started yesterday. The leading team by that time had a 26-0-0 record.
After we finished one game they had 30-0-0. Our second, their record 34-0-0 etc...
Seems like every opponent of them quit.
The go on a 4:1 ratio in games played in about 15 minutes...
First: How much motivation do all other 5000 clubs have now?
Second: This zero motivation needs to be kept up for 16 days...
Let's go dev team! Surprise us!

Not sure what makes it that way. Im fairly sure there is a way to glitch to avoid a loss and it has been a problem for a long time. Havent happend to me that much but it has costed us two games, one now and one time on the final day of the last finals when we started the day at 11th place and was going to get into top 10, instead we dropped down to 18, lets just say we did not feel like playing anymore that day.

IP booted more likely. When I was playing this game a month ago we were up 5-1 and lost 3-0 in the last 50 seconds. The opponents had racist names, and I reported them, but see they are still doing the same stuff as usual. Makes me feel like this game is pointless, so I just stick with Franchise mode and have ended playing online until EA does something...
Yeah, the playoff format bites. I've said it before when they announced this format, that the best teams arent winning, the teams that glitch the most, and play the most do. Go back to the "win four games" and you get a banner and cup. That was the best.

Not playing makes no sense.
Playing when its no fun doesn't make sense, what leads to not playing, which doesn't make sense and leads to bad or no matches at all, what doesn't make sense, what leads to the question, what makes sense?
The playoff format is absolutely pitiful. EA puts ZERO thought into it and just leaves it for the entire year. There's always next year I guess.
Also...why do these games count towards our RP and overall record? They never used to...they 100% need to not effect our overall records. Feels completely half a$$ed
I don't like the format because unless you play 100 - 150 games plus, you won't have a shot at the title. On the other i love it that you can't see who the team, or the players rank that you are playing. No cherry picking of opponents is probably where most of the outrage is coming from.

The other thing is too, you can run the table in the round robin games and get a hella good team RP, then just sit back and wait and see if a team catches you. Also side note...the #1 3s team right now has a hella shady record...they play like 5 games in the time it takes us to play one with a sus amount of DNF wins...many of them in far too short a timeframe(3 DNF wins in 9 real time minutes for eg)
