Yes its wired but honestly, play with game menus n stuff whike online. Now disconnect. Tell me the game as a whole isnt smoother.
I'm not quite understanding you. Are you saying while navigating the in game menus, you're being disconnected?
No. Im saying the entire game is slow and laggy, until you disconnect yourself. Then the game runs and loads smoothly. Being connected to the servers at all slows down EVERYTHING, including menus.
I don't have details on the speed of the menus. Yes, screens can take several seconds to load, but I haven't experienced disconnecting while navigating them. If that's happening, we should go through some troubleshooting. Let me know if you want to do that.
You're still misunderstanding. Im not saying i get dc. I'm saying while connected to ea servers, the game including menus run sloppy and laggy, but the second i yank that ethernet cable from my xbox and am no longer tied to ea servers, the game runs smooth as butter. That alone tells me your game servers are the cause of a LOT of this games problems.
I understand the slow menus. Even though it's several seconds between them, it adds up and when we don't instantly load into the next screen, it gets frustrating. However, in-game, the majority of people are not experiencing lag. There are a lot of different variables involved in everyone's connection. The game can play a lot different for someone in the same area, but on different equipment and with differing amounts of traffic on the same network. Our servers are only one part of this, but they are quick to get the blame. Even though most of the tests we get back show issues are beginning before reaching our servers. When there is a known issue, we post an announcement. So, when the majority of people are playing without lag, it means we need to individually troubleshoot the ones that are having it. If you'd like to go through some testing, let me know.
Ive already ran through everything ive seen you tell people to do, and even had my isp here while i was speaking to ea support. I have a networking background and know how to optimize. I get avg 25 ping, but those graphs lie. One game at 25 ping plays fine, while the next i feel like my guy is in quicksand. Its not the connection. Theres some bug in your game causing this issue and worse, its EVERY ea sports game with the EXACT SAME ISSUES. So everyone playin your games with these issues and you always wanna blame the connection.

There is something in your netcode, or just gameplay code that's causing fat man lag. No amount of looking at our end will fix this. Go read social media and again tell me not many experience issues. Sorry man im honestly not being rude so i hope its not coming off that way but years of the same complaints in all of your games and you guys still look at us instead of internally.

What im saying is there is already delay just in the menus when connected to ea servers but offline theyre fine. Something on your guys end hasnt added up for years. Honest question, how do we show you proof of fatman lag? I have videos of me playing erratic because im half a second behind. Youll see my guy skate past loose pucks and never attempt to get it because hes still performing the action i did a second ago, youll see instances where i mess up for zero reason other than whats on my screen and whats ACTUALLY happening arent in sync but that doesnt show you the PROBLEM. Itll just look like lag but ill be steady at 25 ping.

At the end of the day, ea has done this to themselves. You guys have zero trust from your customers and for good reason. Heck, look at cyberpunk. It released in an unacceptable state bit im ok with it because they have a great post release track record. With you guys, you release half baked stuff, and it stays that way for several years sometimes, and sometimes never gets fixed. I get it, its a yearly release with very few devs. Doesnt excuse the state of your games...all of them.

The menus are pinging servers when online for account info, cloud saves, stats. Yeah it’s annoying, but that’s why they’re slow.

Why do no other games menus lag that bad then?

Menu lag? I mean there’s the loading between modes, I don’t know what you mean about lag. As for other games, I dunno, just explaining what’s happening in NHL.

This has gone off topic though. Let’s get back on track.

Hey Socair today my new club played 5 games, where we 2 of our guys from Northwest lagged out against some South Central opponents. Then our guy from South Central lagged out in 2 of the games while going against a Northwest team. Northwest seems to be having a major server issue this year, in result to why many of us have opted out from LGHL, or club in general to a point to us Western users had to create an all Western league type scenario. Had my ISP here at my home today to troubleshoot, and my connection was flawless. Curious I tried NHL 20 and my ping was at 11 milliseconds. Fired up NHL 21 and my ping was 30-47 in the green and 91-120 in the yellow. So I'm wondering if it's an issue within the game itself, as the servers seem to be fine on NHL 20.

Lag as in simply moving through them is delayed, and clunky. Should be snappy and quick. This isn't 1997.

I see you made a thread on this here, https://forums.ea.com/en/nhl/discussion/267717/please-fix-northwest-server-connection#latest
so let’s take that discussion there.
