Just lost in OT because a penalty shot attempt was blacked out & they scored shortly thereafter. Thanks EA!

No. Both teams had already used their one pause/timeout in the third period. No pause.
Just casually tripped up and could've, should've, absolutely would've won right then and there had the timely black screen of death show up. How convenient. The screen may as well have just stayed black for the remainder of the game at that point. They made a nice play afterwards to win, credit to them for capitalizing on their second breath of life. But that's beside the point.
You know what, it really truly sucks to spend 30+ minutes playing a back and forth, competitive game only to lose it in that fashion. Is that fair? Is that right by anybody? To you, to us, or even to the other team for winning a fluke game after playing a good one otherwise. Here I am griping about it and I don't want to be that guy, but c'mon.
Please do something?
Thanks for the info, @MdMc11. I'm sorry that happened and totally understand how that can be a huge let down to the end of a close game.
The team is aware of this and we have a bug report on it here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Screen-goes-black-on-penalty-shots-NHL-21/m-p/9624169#M916
"This is an issue we're aware of and investigating. It looks like it could be due to mashing the button when skipping replays. For now, try to go easy on the replay skipping when this happens. Apologies for the trouble. Hopefully, we'll have this handled soon."
