NHL 21 won't be touched again.

I get the feeling this is the final product when it comes to NHL 21. They might add in the Sharks 30th unis and the Caps new 3rd and a few roster updates. But I think the game will be left in the state it's in. Franchise mode and Be A pro will be left in the broken mess it is now.

  • We’re on patch version 1.4. Both NHL 19 and 20 had versions 1.6 released in April

Maybe a good sign.. also been less time with this game.

But I think we will get something more..
  • Sadly I have no faith in EA making this game better.....I've lost all hope with this company and franchise haha

I don't think you're getting much, if anything. I'm not sure if it's an intentional direction or a byproduct of spending more time on the new consoles and dealing with covid but the trend the last 3 years now seems a little more hands off after release each year.
  • TBH I don't think this game is going to be much different than it is no matter how many patches they release... I would rather the DEV team spend time working on 22

I know we are stuck with annual releases, so a longer release cycle isn't in the cards but maybe they could increase the size of the DEV team or create a second team to alternate working on this so we could get more than just incremental changes++ each year.

Getting worst In every aspects or just in some areas?

To the opposite of what many people feel... at least I think so... I have experience improvements for the last couple of years, it hasn't been big improvements, but a couple, enough at least to keep me excited for the future.

And a little gameplay patch to start with.. would be really fun! 😊

Whether or not its worse is subjective. For me personally I think its getting better but I also find myself falling somewhere between perplexed and furious at the things that are ignored vs those that get attention.

But my point was just that they seem to be more satisfied every year with the decisions and the state of the game at release time so they don't make changes as often and when they do they are more minor compared to years past.

    Aa all right! 👍

Perhaps not a bad thing. From earlier, it felt like they were too fast of listning to the world wide community and they didn't show any confidence in there own product.

I think its importen that every new patch or game, for that mather, are giving a fair chance to grow. It always takes some time, before we know how 'exploit free' the gameplay is.

I'm ok with either method. Fix it if something is straight up broken but with an annual release schedule I would rather see them get as much time as possible on the next game instead of making adjustments to the previous one.

Perhaps a little something like this year (with Nhl21).

Wouldn’t surprise me if they been working side-by-side with 22, all though the move to next gen is probebly the main reason for that.

But maybe a good way to work, every second realese could be strong, much work behind, and between that, more updates, fix bugs and some of that.

Could maybe give them more breathing space to work and to develop new game mechanics.

When will a 'copy/paste' realese be accepted..?

I was thinking of that.. The day when alot of people are satisfied with the game, should also be the day a 'copy/paste' is welcome.

But with all the new technology that comes out, I guess there always going to be areas you can improve, for the greater feeling.

The hockey itself - that -should- be a 'copy paste', and a good thing, hockey is hockey.

But the menus, the presentation, thats the main thing I feel is a copy paste, so tired of 'the same', but it's fine, cause I feel they been working hard with gameplay, but hopefully they get that in order and get time to all the stuff around too.

A $70 CAD per year copy/paste is never acceptable.

  • They're not going to release a patch for the sake of releasing a patch. It has to be needed. I think the game plays great. Of course it's not perfect.

Not in is exact meaning. But lets say they find a way to make the balance almost perfect, why should they try to fix something thats not broken..?

But if we're not talking strictly gameplay.. Thats a whole nother question .. Were a copy/paste would feel lame.
