Can we talk to an actual developer?
At this point, questions like rubber banding/dda/tilt/overpowered poke checks/EA not caring about ragging have been asked to CMs more times than we can all count. The fact that they have to keep being asked is proof that there's an inability to effectively and respectfully communicate to the player base. Even if messages are being relayed to developers, something is being lost in translation. I respect the effort that CMs are putting in, I'm sure they work very hard. But at some point, you have to realize when something isn't working, and this isn't working.
What is the player base's available method to interact with a developer and escalate the issues that CMs haven't been able to effectively and satisfactorily answer?

You bought the game. You can play the game whenever you want.
That's where your ownership of the product ends.
I know everybody these days thinks that their opinion is the only truth in the world and that everything should be made solely to fit their needs, but that just isn't the case. I agree with a lot of your points, but if you didn't like the game, you should have gotten a refund.
Just like in videogame eras past, speaking with your wallet is your only true recourse.
Not to put them in a place, more to hear them out, get a chance to get inside there heads, ideas they would like to follow up on, strong and weak sides of the game, the future, what they hope to achieve..?
It can be good help for the community to know, in our attempt to help them out with input/feedback, bugs to look out for.. Etc etc
But I do understand this type of things is no fun to do if everyone just try to eat them alive.
I totally agree with you that it would be interesting, but the "eat them alive" part is what would happen.
Even if they completely explained something and it made total sense, there would still be somebody shouting that they're all idiots because they lost a game once and it didn't feel fair.
Such a shame. It's a lost for everyone.
But you are probebly right. Like many other times!
👍
Developers have repeatedly said there is no DDA. They have discussed poke checks and ragging in the past as well. Since they often received toxic responses here, they have found their time is better spent listening to feedback and working on the game. There most likely will never be any answers that everyone is satisfied hearing. I regularly bring issues up to developers and relay their responses. In that sense, you're hearing from them. Honest answers are being provided, but they aren't what the community wants to hear so there's a lot of disbelief and pushback. This happened when the devs themselves posted here as well so I don't see how that's suddenly going to change.
Couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to my plans here and why I asked, so with all due respect, please keep your negative assumptive comments to yourself and do not put words in my mouth.
Not fair to just assume that I'm going to be toxic and have the same complaints, so respectfully, please avoid jumping straight to negative conclusions and worst case assumptions in the future.
I asked because I want to learn from their explanations of these issues so that I can get better at the game. If there's no DDA, fine, I'm not going to argue that there is or even argue at all. I want to learn what they think causes the DDA-like experience for players. I'm not saying DDA is there but many players feel like it is so there's obviously something causing the facade or mirage of DDA if you will, and I'd like to hear their thoughts on why that is. I think I could learn a lot from something along the lines of "We know many people think DDA exists, it doesn't, but here's why so many people might feel like it does.... etc.".
I'd like to hear their thoughts (their as in the developers thoughts, not someone else's opinion-infused, negative-assumption-laced interpretation of them and not someone else's thoughts) on why some players are having trouble to adapting to the latest gameplay sliders and associated poke check effectiveness. Obviously if I'm having problems with getting poke checked I need to improve my play. I'll be the first to admit I'm not very good and that's why I get housed once I arrive in D3 so I need to find ways to improve. I know my skill level and it isn't good, I'm aware of that, and so it's not productive at all for me to just keep reading "players want to say it's DDA and don't spend enough time figuring out how to improve their play".... I wouldn't be here in the first place if I wasn't trying to figure out that exact thing, so I'm quite tired of having that inaccurate assumption thrown in my face to be quite honest and I'm trying to productively and positively find ways to improve, through the help of developers who skillfully created an immersive hockey gaming experience.
I want to hear their thoughts on the mechanics of ragging. Why? Because I want to LEARN from it, so I can pick up unfiltered and untainted hints, straight from the people who coded the mechanics, that will help me counter it. I want to hear their specific technical opinions and try to translate that into adjustments to how I play.
The ice tilt discussion goes back about 10 years at this point. Back to the old forums that don't exist anymore. It's a topic that has been repeatedly discussed over and over and over and over again. It literally comes up almost daily. There was an official response posted here. Madden and FIFA have also addressed this issue with their communities. If people still want to assume DDA exists after being told so many times it doesn't, I doubt there's anything we can do that will get people to believe us.
Ragging is a separate issue. When Ben was active, this was discussed. You're welcome to peruse his replies to see all sorts of discussions on various mechanics. If you want to improve your own play, most likely there are many videos online that can be used as tutorials. Sleeveless Gaming in particular would be good to check out.
With all due respect, I didn't put words in your mouth. I was talking in generalities.
And "assumptive and negative comments"? Really? Nope. You can judge a horse pretty well by the races it has run.
Across your last few topics, you've called the developers lazy, accused them of catering only to sponsored pros, mocked them because a community manager said that finding a fix to a core gameplay issue was tricky (which it is), refused to provide feedback on issues because you "shouldn't have to fix problems in a product that you pay for", said you're not buying the game again, begged the admins to kill off your account so that you can break your addiction, said that high-end goalies are broken (and that EA know it but won't admit it - so you're accusing them of lying, essentially) and basically been a pretty accusatory and angry person.
Oh, and let's not forget that you're "done listening to excuses" as if you somehow think that you're about to roll in and start firing people right and left because you paid your money for a game the same as a couple million other people did.
Now you're out here wondering why EA won't give you an open line to a developer, as if you somehow deserve a reward for basically stamping your feet a lot and doing the online version of "I demand to speak to a manager!"
If you want to learn how to improve your play, watch a YouTuber or two. You don't need a developer.
Dude, you are naive. There is definitely a tilt. Just played a game, not even 10 minutes ago.....I had 35 shots, opponent had 12. His goalie played like a God, and please spare me the "it happens in real games" ****. My team is a 92 overall, I have 3 team synergies activated, and 4 individual synergies activated and I play against teams that have no better than 85's , but yet they skate as fast, if not faster, score with ease, and oh my favorite poke check the puck away from me when they are behind me. And trust me, I know that the opponent does not have any synergies activated because I look at the opponents team during intermission. So don't get on here and spew your ****. Everyone sees it. Everyone experiences it. I'm a level 5. I have been playing this game for 20 years. Their is definitely a tilt.
Thread will be closed if it continues or gets any worse.
I complain a lot on this forum but that example is not necessarily a tilt. I get out shot by a wide margin all the time does that mean I should lose? you can come to my zone, control the TOA, I'll just play my defense and let my opponents shoot their low percentage shots. I will get you though cause once I get the puck, my speedy wingers will kill you with a two on one. TOA and out shooting your opponents doesn't mean you should get the win.
I think this is the key issue. It will absolutely never go away. You could make a ten-hour presentation showing the code. You could have a high-level developer explain line by line what the code is doing. You could get PriceWaterhouseCoopers to put a team of auditors in place to verify that there's no DDA or tilt going on...
...and you'd still get angry people screaming that they lost a game and it wasn't their fault. Same as they did when they lost to their brother as kids and swore that they had the "bad" controller. Same as folks who tilt all their money away at the poker table and claim that the deck is rigged. Some of these folks would complain that a coin-toss is rigged when they were using their own coin, got to call it, and tossed the coin themselves.
I'm not saying the game is perfect, or that there are no bugs, or that the effects of some pressure changes are not far too pronounced (I feel that they are) but some folks simply can't accept that they aren't the best in the world at everything. The FIFA forum is the same, packed full of folks who take 40 hopeful shots from the halfway line and think the game is rigged because they had a better team and more shots, but gave away a penalty and lost 0-1.
True.
But isnt that the case for everything in the world.
When we loose, we dont like to put the blame on us.
And when its a CPU thats involved with pretty advanced coding, why not take the chance to blame it on that?
In real life, we call it a bad referee, or some other sort of headwind that stood in our way.
Real life is not always fair.. And video games is definitely not always fair. But what else to do then accept it and fire up next game!
What your saying is 100% accurate, but coin tosses and decks can be rigged. Lol just sayin....
Spend less time crying, trying to be a contrarian, and being obsessed with me, and spend more time working on being a better person. Don't tell me what you think I need. Not warning you again.
Completely unfair that a thread for a question I had would get shut down because one person can't act like a grown up. Mute that person if you want and things will immediately get back to civil but let the rest of us converse like adults, the rest of us shouldn't be penalized because one person can't keep it respectful.
Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.
When someone has an opinion that differs to yours, they aren't necessarily trying to be a contrarian. Maybe they just actually have an opinion that differs to yours. That is possible, you know?
And with respect, it isn't an obsession. There are about 10 posts on this board a week. Isn't hard to read them and remember them. For most of us, anyway.
But thanks for the threat.
