thanks

  • you are probably one of those idiots that have no idea how to play positional hockey or back check but blame the goalie on shots that he has no chance of saving. doesn't have to be breakaway, there are shots where human goalies have literally 0 chance on...its up to the D and forwards back checking to take away those type of shots.

i hope he was trolling after you said something on mic without you knowing what sound positional hockey is and blaming the goalie.

gonna take a wild guess that you usually play as green, that doesn't bother coming back into your zone to play defence, but chill around mid ice cherry picking....tapping the stick non stop if u have AI players on your team. lol.

In his defence, I do and most of the guys I game with play positional sound hockey in our own end. All that is for not if the goalie cant play his position. I understand though that alot of guys are like that..
  • I just started to play goalie end of last year and quite often this year. Drop-ins as goalie are a chore to say the least. TBH it is not easy at all. You're so reliant on the 5 guys in front of you to prevent high scoring chance shots. Not to mention the goals you're actually in position for and still let up. You said there were 2 where the G wasn't in the crease. Which 2? the first 2? Last 2? if it were the last 2 and the guys in front of him were chirping him instead of helping, I would say that's a bit unfair. From my perspective I want to LEARN how to play goalie, Drop-ins are there for that purpose. Sometimes the learning is tough. Maybe try and talk to the goalie a little? Have you played goalie? did you offer any pointers?

What I'm trying to say is, its a drop in bud. Maybe he was there to learn, maybe to troll ,but this post whining about Drop-in goalies are no way to improve goalie play. I got told to uninstall my game by a drop in player after a rough 13 GA game (3 of which were him passing it into my net) and then had a 18 save shutout the next game in a drop. Understand some games are better than others for goalies man.

    +1

Goaltending is tough, human goalies let in too many goals that they are in perfect position for, I'm not a bad goalie but I find it too frustrating to play with so many weak goals going in.

Here he is, everyone. The drop-in forward with all the answers. Get rid of human goalies. The scary thing is that some EA worker is reading the little kid's post and probably taking it seriously.

As someone who plays goalie in EASHL all the time I never play the position in drop in games because nine time out of ten the players don't play positional hockey or D, everybody is forward who wants to score, sometimes they just quit, others then blame the goalie for letting in the goals despite the fact they don't help on D, don't help with rebounds, nothing.

Now while it is true that not all players are like, as evidenced in this post with people sticking up for goalies, the same can be true about human goalies who skate around a lot and find themselves out of position or come out to get the puck and then have it stolen from them and scored on but like not all players don't abandon their goalie, not all human goalies abandon their team, that doesn't mean you have to say "Get rid of all Human goalies."

You start doing that you'll have all the goalies saying do the same thing for all the selfish players who abandon the goalies during games and then blame the goalie when we're lose. If I let in a goal and it's my fault so be it, but if I let in a goal because all my "team" were busy all being forwards, trying to crash the net and score and turn the puck over and I'm alone to deal with a three on one situation because all of them are still in the offensive zone now chasing the play, yeah that's my fault too because hey it's not enough we have to anticipate whether the shot will be high or low, Glove side, blocker side, five hole but now it's which one of these three do I think is going to take the shot on top of that and where's my team during all this? Oh they're still at centre ice, great.

Hey I made the save! Oh no rebound, where's my defence to pick it up and help? Oh right at the high slot, desperation save attempt them it went in, well I did all I could.

"YOU SUCK GOALIE WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM? MAKE THE SAVE!"

Times like that I know how Lundqvist feels whenever the Rangers leave it all up to him to bail them out.

  • I have fantastic stats when It comes to takeaways, goals , assists and an exceptional competitive rating. I also have an excellent plus/minus

What, you can't just say what these great stats are? "Exceptional competitive rating?" OK, what is it?

Its Yuuuuuugee......believe me, my stats are tremendous.
  • Every play can be stopped before it reaches the goalie. Keep that in mind, i'm not on either side as I have had my fare share of goalies that try and play forward. lol

I have been playing goalie in the EASHL since 09 on PS3 off and on.... and
actually I have no problem playing goalie in drop in games because it's one of the best forms of practice you will ever get for a human goalie... especially if your just getting use to the new game playing goalie or the controls or playing goalie in the EASHL for the first time ever. I play drop in games on purpose playing goalie knowing going in that I will have sometimes guys in front of me not playing their positions and I will be left hanging. I find it a challenge and fun to play drop in games as goalies. I have done well and several people from decent clubs have asked me to play for them because of it. This is another reason playing drop in games as a goalie is good as every now and then someone good will see your skills and want you to play for their club. I can careless about my goalie stats and ironically my goalie stats are better in OTP than it with my original club at the moment. I usually play out for my club though with friends lol trust me.. also going from getting so much action playing behind others in OTP who don't know how to play defense and then playing behind a club that actually plays good sound defense makes you feel invincible at times in net... at least it does for me

you still need to play goalie in club mode against good players though to see everything as a human goalie and really get good.. sometimes in OTP it's actually easier playing goalie because the people trying to score off you are so predictable and not good or top club players... there is many good players who know how to specifically beat a good human goalie.. but most of these players you find more against other good clubs not in OTP really from my experience

as for the OP.. yeah he is wrong on everything and probably one of those guys that don't know how to play hockey. Granted there is sometimes some bad positional goalies as well who are way to far out of position on easy stops as well so I can see both sides.. but I never complain about the human goalies. life without human goalies in the EASHL would be boring and I would NOT even play this game no more.

bottom line.. is a good Human goalie in EASHL 17 > than AI goalie

usually good players can tell when a human goalie is good or not.. and if you are and they notice you in otp you will start getting request to play with them.. and that always is a cool feeling when others you don't know keep asking you to play in net for them

ps. unrelated question but if you leave club and come back does it reset your stats for that club?

  • you are probably one of those **** that have no idea how to play positional hockey or back check

You should communicate to him positively about his actions. Otp is the training ground for learning the basics of a new position or for practicing for when you play club or do drafts. It's a no pressure atmosphere where you have more freedom to experiment cause ya know..it's otp.

So tell me, sir. Do you even play goalie? If you did, you'd know that we don't actually have control over what saves we can do. We can only get into position and the game does the rest. In past versions, getting into position assured you that 99% of the time, a save was made. But this year, even when we're in perfect position, the puck will find a way to get through.

And that's without all the weird stuff that happens during games. For example:

    http://xboxclips.com/VeNOM2O99/61209d73-a2d7-40cc-9b1a-04a7fa2a6ded

Is that my fault? Perhaps instead of pressing the "slow" puck cover button, I should've pressed the "quick" cover button... My bad. And where were my teammates in that clip? Two of the opposing team's forwards were IN MY CREASE, while FOUR white jerseys were behind them. Not one of them thought to hit them to take them out of the play.

But hey, that's the goalie's fault.

    Here's another one:

    http://xboxclips.com/VeNOM2O99/b7d8cc70-c710-40d5-aa90-8f20772b43ec

Oh dear! It seems I've gone and pressed the FREEZE after getting hit in the crease button (BTW, notice how the Forward who hit me was totally punished for his actions?). My teammates, true to form, are running around like complete amateurs. Luckily I was able to unfreeze in time and perform a few "basic" saves in the ensuing scrum. Thank god my teammates were there to stop the other team from almost scoring another goal...

No? Not convinced? Ok, here's a good one:

    http://xboxclips.com/VeNOM2O99/d9c52638-f247-4b32-961c-287870608ce0

I made not one, but TWO saves. I guess I shouldn't have taken over the d-man's controls and poked the puck into my own net. Oh well... You know how us goalies are, eh?

You should try it... might change your views on us f***ing goalies that keep inferior teams in play. Funny... I've played with "inferior" teams and, as luck would have it, they were never kept in a game. Even when I received 35 shots and saved 30 of them, we still lost 5-0. I guess it's my fault my team only shot 9 times and wasn't able to score.

But please, give human goalie a shot. See how much fun it is... It's almost as much fun as playing as a DANGLING forward. Really!
