  • I'm suprised he didn't auto drop.
  • Yeah... That was Jonlol (AKA; JonfitzSimmons, AKA: the Goalie Gamechanger guy). Trust me, he's hardly a scr*b goalie that "plays with his TV off".
  • He slid a little to the right and the shooter shot the opposite way. Should of stayed put. Happens to me sometimes too.

It's really hard to tell someone who plays goalie IRL to not follow a shooter in that situation and cover his angles. It's like asking someone not to take a breath or blink. Also, during the BETA, all the way up to the day one tuners, that's how we had to play that situation: follow the shooter and make sure you're always covering your angle. If the player shoots the puck, you'll be in front of it at all times and easily block it.
  • Yes but IRL, you don't see yourself from behind, nor your positioning with a view from behind the net. He overplayed his angle, simple enough. The fact his goalie reaches out as far as he can and yet the puck still goes in is proof enough of how much he overplayed his angle.
If you were to argue that IRL we can move over by only 1mm or 2 feet with precision then yes, I would agree with you.
  • The point of view we're seeing the game from is irrelevant, even if we had a 1st person view for goalie mode, the fact is that the goalie animates all wrong for that situation. And the excuse we're given is: "Well you were slightly moving an inch when the shot was taken", which is stupid.

Go check out the new topic I posted where I have a 20 min video of the most ridiculous goals you've ever seen all happening in ONE Single game. Fair warning though; you should probably down a few Advil/Tylenol and maybe have a bottle of Pepto handy... There are at least 3 instances where the goalies (me and my opponent on the other side) have our skates planted and we're square to the shot, but because we moved a fraction of an inch the second before the shot was taken, the game animates the goalie to take a LONG step sideways so it can accommodate for a glove save or blocker save animation. Why??

EA added new "reactionary" save animations like shoulder shrugs on both the blocker and trapper side where the goalie doesn't need to move to the side. Why is the game trying to move us when we don't want to??

Goalies were getting "pulled" and "moved" all the time in 16 to help make saves. Sometimes it helps. sometimes it hinders. Maybe they played around a bit with that in the coding and screwed things up a bit. Who knows.
  • There's this stigma in this game about goalies...

and def too, but goalies for sure. When a goalie makes a mistake it is magnified, when I forward makes a mistake it is blown over and let go. Why?

A goalie messes up, its a goal against, a forward messes up then it is a turnover most of the time. The 2 aren't that far apart to me.

You probably are a wayne gretzky dangling cry child that doesn't play def, he let in a soft one and you freaked. Then he started beign stupid.

I have played with bad goalies in drop ins too, as a part time goalie myself, it sucks... it does, but I don't cry on a forum about it. I'll cry about Franchise mode or something i guess lol

YOu probably got what you deserved champion, and came here to cry. Enjoy it.
