Can we please have more fun in this game, i like the realistic side of nhl on next gen now but where are all the dekes? Surely you can add 1 handed dekes etc. Makes the game more fun and less repetitive imo.
  • Id love to see the building of pro again in eashl, everybody just uses power forward anyway since thats the most effective, the building of your pro back on ps3 was so much fun and youd see a lot of difference in player styles. Just dont make it as long to reach legend 3, we all now that was a grind lol. Also id like what fifa has on edit pro which is the create face not a model from ea itself.

This is the direction EA needs to go, they need to understand that currently the EASHL is a bit of a snorefest, this is one of the main reasons why... it's just PFs and Grinders vs. PF's and Grinders either way.

I can skate around with one of these builds and use protect puck and hold the stick out and you are going to have your hands full taking the puck off me.

So save the crybaby SUPER-MEGA-BUILD sad story... what's the difference then and now with that?

You just dumbed the mode down to satisfy a small group of hardcore players that have e-athlete dreams and aspirations of e-sport glory on a 3rd party website / league - whether EA realizes it or not.

You are losing and have lost WAY TO MANY "fringe" hockey fans that used to buy a FUN video game.......... regardless of their level of interest in the NHL.
  • You should be allowed to go to practices everyday wearther team or optional. You should also be allowed to make event apperences and have a social life with other people and hockey players. Plus you should be able to spend coins or money on player ability upgrades. you should also brig back the gaoie movements like in NHL 16. You should also bring the zamboni thing back to the intermissions from nhl 11. you should be able to amke a career out of the zamboni driving too.

So, you just negated your own point because you comprehend English at 3rd grade level on your good days...Your argument is that either way, there's going to be some sort of build that is just better than others, so we might as well do it the way I want too. There's the key point, you only want that outcome if it's your way, and everyone else is an "e-athlete" if they disagree with you. If you truly don't suck at the game (which I bet you do) then more people having access to the "super build" (which would be the pre-built PWF) wouldn't be an issue because you're so good, right?

See, I think the obvious issue is you're losing more games because the playing field is a tad more even (but that's more because of gameplay decisions rather than how your guy is built, but it would take an actual good player to realize that's why and not because of stupid builds) and you’re blaming these losses on the builds rather than your skill level. I bet you're one of those drop-in heroes that has a blast pounding on players who are more than likely better than you, but you have a 20 OVR advantage on their guy which just barely gives you the edge you need to look like an all-star (atta boy, Dany).

I think we should all be criticizing the dev team's lack of ability to create a level playing field for these classes (and just horrid gameplay decisions that create most of these problems) rather than simply blaming the classes. You won't though. You'll keep blaming the community full of better players than you no matter what the build system is for taking away your precious opportunity to be a drop-in hero.

    Bummer dude.

    oh this guy again.

  • I would love custom music and an updated build your AI mode from NHL 14... first the custom music was great because EA dont need to license all the songs because we just download it from youtube and put the real goal horns and songs in and also the real songs for a poewrplay which just started and that good stuff. It is a win win situation less work and money for ea to spend... but would give us all the real songs and horns (except you dont want to so much work) and give us some options like 2nd goal horn and 3rd because of teams like dallas where the horn changes after every goal. Than build your AI mode need to be back because the breakaway moves for the ai are just garbage so again a win win situation because EA dont have to program this because we do it... but I think what would be even better is a build your AI for every player so for example we can build P. Kanes AI with Dekes he does how he skates on the breakout or offensive zone and all that stuff for PP PK 5 on 5 3 on 3 etc.... I know this would make a lot of work for the players but so we could really build every player and team not everybody would do it but I for sure because I hate it when Ovechkins AI plays the same way as John Scotts AI so that would fix some problems. (sry for my bad english not from an english speaking country;)) Winter Classic would be great as well and since you dont have to spend money on goal horns and songs you can put the money their...

How many more dekes do you want and how much easier do you want to be able to perform them? smirk:

Id like as many as possible, 1 handed dekes are nice to use on G's and adds more variation to breakaways. And these ps4 dekes are easier than ever tbh.

Translates to: I'm a casual and "want it now" player.

Not everyone does though, maybe they could do those builds and create own as well. Having starting with max attributes for everyone, that be simple enough :)

There are already way to make your dekes in this game, and they are way too important to playing successfully. Toe drags don't work. Windmills don't work. Through the legs dekes don't work. The reason these dekes end up on highlight reels is that even with the best stick handlers in the world, these dekes are only pulled off a few times in a season by great players. NHL defenseman are much too good at 1 on 1 defense to be beaten regularly by these moves. Yet NHL 17 would have you believe players are toe dragging up and down the ice (play an offline game against the CPU on superstar. They deke nonstop. It's absurd). The game should be about passing, quick puck movement and puck posession. Players without great deke games should be able to win against the best if they do those other things better than their opponent. The over emphasis this series puts on dekes destroys it's realism.
  • 1. Be Traded in Be a Pro career mode
    2. Retire in Be a pro mode
    3. be able to trade around Future Considerations
    4. Be able to talk with the coach and GM in Be a Pro Mode
    5. Coaching Mode
    6. Referee Mode
    7. Create a new NHL team in Franchise Mode

So pretty much copy be a pro from nba 2k and also put gm connected back

    Yeah well said bobofloggins :)
  • Totally agree need to bring back Progressive Builds that's why it takes 10 minutes to find games now . No one plays after 2 months because you can't unlock attributes to make your guy the way we want.

I would be willing to concede that may be a factor, but that s just opinion. Classes have been around now for a bit. As I understand it, the hardcore folks are currently more aggrieved by the issues with skating, goalies, et al.

I mean, let's face it. If you are on these forums, you are likely a "hardcore" user / player.

    Your point is well taken.

I actually don't want to SCRAP TPS... I LIKE that you are punished for being out of position.

However, I agree with BMH and Workin_OT and others... we need upper body pivot / better facing of the puck and more control with side strafing without the puck.... the system just needs to be tweaked a bit and from what I read, EA is aware of our gripes. All good. Need a tad more control, less spinsie action.

That being said... I had ANOTHER player on my club last night (another 40 year old Canadian ****) say he is done with the series if there isn't a major overhaul here. These are people that I play with that have been playing this series since SEGA.

Whether people here want to admit it or not, ditching the progression system and "make your own pro" part of EASHL has driven not only fringe hockey fans away, but now your losing (for this and other reasons noted) some of the hardcore base.

If HUT is the way you want to go.... and that is your "e-sport" desire, then that's EA's choice and more people will be jumping ship. If EA feels they will somehow make up that ground through HUT.... ehhhh....

All you have to do is recall the s-storm that took place couple years ago when the transition to new-gen occurred and EASHL mode wasn't even included.

EASHL years ago was the gold standard of team sports play. These guys can make this happen again.

I assumed it was the other way around. The fringe players would have been the ones that would benefit most by the class system. Unless I am misreading what you mean by "fringe".

In any case, there is currently a 41 page thread on fixing the goalies and a 35 page thread on fixing/scrapping TPS. Meanwhile only a handful of nearly-stillborn threads on resurrecting the card progression system.

It seems like people have moved on from that in one fashion or another. I suspect :

    - the people who wanted the level playing field have embraced classes
    - the people who liked cards have resigned themselves to their fate

And I suppose the folks for whom that was a dealbreaker are not here anymore. (shrugs)

Sidenote: Can I be "hardcore" but not be very good at the game? LOL

just to be clear, by "fringe" folks I mean the ones that barely watch hockey but used to buy this game because it was tremendously fun with a high replay factor. I used to have, oh, I dunno.... 30 some odd folks that would play this game every morning and evening that fit that description.

I see maybe 2 on consistently playing the game. The rest play other stuff now.

From a marketing / sales perspective, I would have to ASSUME that is the goal here.... you already know folks here / like us are going to buy the game.

In any industry (sales) it's about expanding your base.
