Lag

Prev1345
This game is absolute trash. I run a hard wire connection around 325 down and 32 up with 8-12 ping and the game is a delayed mess

Replies

  • Last game my ping in game was 18-22 ms and I had a good 1 second delay doing anything. My WCOH Bure skates like he has the speed of John Scott base card last year. Guy messages me after the game saying he's running with 5 other guys playing xbox on the same connection. So why in the f*** do I get lagged out and he has a solid fast connection? Exactly why the game is trash.
  • I'll give someone 500k coins on xbox one if you can fix my delayed connection. DMZ, port forwarding, and turning upnp all make the connection more delayed so don't tell me to do these. Changing DNS also makes things more delayed (such as open dns, google, level 1).

Sounds like you got booted down to his connection, unfortunately the only thing you can do is watch the connection rating before the game starts. I don't play unless it remains good the entire time the game is starting.
  • @HEP2214 sounds like you're running a sick setup. I would recmoment you play a VS game and see if you have a better connection since it is also P2P. I honestly believe HUT just plays like *.
  • They are generally about the same connections. Vast majority of versus players are just so bad it doesn't matter if I'm lagging or not. But it's still not fun to beat people by 5 when the game was super slow. I'd rather lose with a smooth connection bc the game is fun.

Any I also only play if it stays a solid good connection at all times before the game starts. Also back out versus any Montreal logo/jersey/stadium/qc name because I'll for sure be super delayed versus them regardless of what the connection reads.

I have noticed that as well.

I made a topic about it as well Connection Altering I believe some players are exploiting this and taking
advantage of EAsportsNHL connection mistakes!!!! it slows the gameplay and player reaction time I too am hardwired and this happens frequently!!! I play only when all three green bars are green as well but every
so often you get a guy who seems to have found a way to mask it or just doesn't do it constantly!

Just yesterday this happened I noticed my player (same player) shift in speed while in full stride from this super slow speed to the speed it normally is back to the super slow speed all in the offensive zone (not in the regular spots where the game flickers usually) yet all the green bars were solid and never flickered in the team menus.
This happens through out the game in spots that I would say are opportune shooting positions!!

I refuse to play anyone with anything associated with Montreal. Always something fishing happens
  • it doesn't matter how "good" your connection is

if your opponent has a shady connection your game will drop down to the lowest common denominator

keep notes of your opponents and if you have a bad game don't play that opponent again

    What you said sir.

I've noticed that anyone who has a record of like 250-20 usually has an odd connection and I blacklist them.
  • Nothing against my brothers to the north.....

But I have noticed that a lot of my opponents from Canada seem to have a crappy connection. I encounter lag often in such matches

That is my major gripe with this game, and has been for the last year. Connection instability. Major lag!!!This year is better since I put on a wired connection. Wireless last yr was terrible.

But still, I will play a great game and my guys will fly. The next game, choppy as hell.....
  • I think i posted this last wk but i lost 2 games in D5.
    1. My 2 yr old shut off the console. He thinks it's hilarious when he shuts the console off mid match!!!
    2. A great game was going on. I think my opponent scored a weak point shot. Toward the end of the first period, boom! I get abruptly booted to the main screen. Up until that point, the game was fine. I wasn't thinking much about it, assuming I would just get the win. I sure as hell did not quit the game ! And yes, somehow my Connection became unstable and I got the loss......

The second scenario used to happen regularly last year. It certainly much improved this year, but it still happens. Very frustrating
  • Most not all of the people that have QC in their team name cheat or alter connectivity so they could win at any cost. I don't mean to offend anyone but it is what it is. Any time I see that I back out ASAP. Makes a huge difference playing anyone else.
    I bleed hockey!!!!!!!!!!
  • I wonder how good of a connection you folks have. Its very rare I have any lag. Maybe 1 time in 10 20 games

I have 150down/15up. Usually an 18-20 ping. It's not lag like choppiness but sluggishness. Like starting and stopping an 18 wheeler.

Yeah, I have to agree with this. What other justification is there for a Team Wheel squad with almost every player 92+ speed and acceleration getting caught from behind on breakaways or not able to even move up the ice before getting poke spammed because it takes forever to get their legs churning. I know how to click the left stick. They're not fatigued.

It's the same old "skating in mud" that we see every year. Intentional or not, at some point it doesn't matter anymore. The game just screws you over.

What else could explain it? The other player understands how to strategize or wearing your guys out buy using the hustle button to much.

People have been complaining about lag in HUT for years. Even more so this year. It's not a coincidence. To suggest poor like changes is the cause of everyone's sluggishness is comical.
  • I think all the variations of cards cause lag. Use basic cards and heros. You should be ok
