I think player strengths should be more apparent also, I was using the dangler the other day just to switch it up as I usually pick grinder, and I don't see hardly any difference between their deking ability; when using the dangler I was still losing control trying to pull off simple dekes like toe drags.
I was still not regaining possession with the between the legs deke even when the puck would be perfectly aimed in front by his stick, the spin deke I was also not able to pull off without losing the puck. So at the very least it seems the dangler is hardly any different from the grinder in terms of deking ability and hes much easier to knock off the puck as well, so this makes the dangler useless in my opinion.
If thats an issue it certainly isnt due to a lack of the deking attribute.
So the deking attribute has nothing to do with the ability to successfully pull off dekes?.... you must of read what I wrote wrong, because this makes zero sense.
I'm just telling you the danglers deking attribute is 90+. But someone also said after you that they have no issues pulling off dekes with that class, so you figure that one out
Once again, what I said is I notice no difference between the grinder and danglers abilities, not that I couldn't pull off dekes with him. You still seem to not comprehend what I'm saying.
Funny; I lose the puck half the time on a mere spin with grinder and I play that class 90% of the time. Doesn't happen to me with Dangler. Maybe you need to play that class more than once.
Truth. If you can't see or feel the subtle differences in the builds, you may be smoking to many energy drinks.
I'm talking about the deking of the two builds only, not the whole build, and I don't know many people who smoke energy drinks... maybe you?

Nah bro, I drink pot. Like the cool kids do.
But seriously, it's just strange to me you can't see a difference. I mean, I can dangle with an enforcer d man, but can dangle way more effectively with a puck moving D man. The differences are there. Go play a bunch of games as a dangler or a two way dangler again...now that you play mostly grinder. You'll see it, you'll FEEEEEL IT!
YOU WILL BECOME IT...

i agree and disagree on the area of defensemen. Sorry but you can be facing the passer and still have the puck go directly through you many many times. so taking away the passing lanes is not enough. in fact I definitely felt like in NHL 15, previous gen, as a defensive dman I was much much better at intercepting passes.
That's mostly my feeling as well. You might have more passes get through in 15, but it would be because you weren't facing correctly or something along those lines. If you were in position though, you did intercept the pass every time it felt. In 17, it's easier to face the play, but it feels like they toned down the interceptions to compensate for it.
I can't be the only one that has passes go right through me when I read the play correctly. I'm not saying it happens a lot but way more than it should. I've seen videos of pucks going through physical objects like sticks and ppl say it's due to player class. So interceptions aren't where they should be.
A lot of times I say, ****! I should of intercepted that. Then I dissect the replay and see, I was skating to fast, a little out of position, the pass had sauce on it...etc.
ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE, the puck will go through my blade a bit...but overall the physics being more true and helpful to defensive play have improved greatly. Playing as a d-man, it used to be pretty frustrating watching that happen ALOT!

Most of that better dangling is due to the higher agility of the dangler, because of his player size. I dunno, guess we'll all just have to agree to disagree. I feel the dangler should bobble dekes very rarely.
The only time I've seen my player bobble dekes like you described is when there is an AI player near me. Then, like you said, the puck just falls off my stick when I do a toe drag. I think certain player types should only be able to do certain dekes, meaning the others are not available to even try.
That's fine you can disagree, but for me...I can tell it's got better and more balanced.
I can trust I will pick up the puck when I'm in the passing lane....or trust when I go for a well timed poke or stick lift...I'll get it.
Previous years, it really was a roll of the dice.
I'm rewarded now, more than ever for playing proper defense...or for even jumping the play and breaking up passes.
Which is based mostly on improved physics...but I still think it's great that everyone is skating around with Wayne Gretzky attributes.
I primarily play D as I have for a couple of years now. I've improved quite a bit over that time and now I consider myself better than the average D and maybe even better than that.
I've learned from and have played with some of whom I consider the best d in the game and I don't think I've ever heard them say the same things you have.
Maybe I need to play and learn from you instead then if you think the way you do.
Catfish is a pylon his idea of defense is to stand by the goalie and hope the game picks up the puck for him ... Just so you know his playstyle.
Nothing rewarding about the game doing the actions for you, and I don't know who trusts the game to intercept passes in the lane for you, unless you are just a very lucky person, no matter what class if I step up into the passing lane above the red line I get burnt , puck just goes by my stick , my player doesn't blink . The worst is when you poke check but your player auto pick ups and then saucers because it over takes then qeues an action that you had no idea would be qeued ...
Haha, standing next to your goalie and not screening him and picking up his rebounds to help him out is a horrible idea!! I bet goalies hate that!...get out of here you goof.
Sounds like your the pylon there chief...having trouble getting burnt at the red line eh?
I seem to make plays and break up passes all the time.

Yeah thats what I mean, even if there is zero contact he still bobbles dekes. In my opinion the dangler should almost never bobble a deke if there is no interference.

Id like to see you try ten dekes with the dangler in open ice, no defenders near you...just to see the ratio of clean dekes to **** dekes. I'm guessing about 8 to 9 times you'll pull it off clean.

You're probably right, but I bet you could do that with a few other builds too, it's easy pulling dekes off with no one around you. He still bobbles simple toe drag dekes without being hit or poked or even incidental contact when going around opposing players.
Once againnn, all I'm saying is that a dangler should very rarely bobble a well executed deke, seeing as it's his only strength.
Well, maybe that is his strength, he probably has a better chance of pulling off a deke in traffic more so than any other build.
And I would imagine the dekes are quicker and more fluid.

Ya let your man have space and do what he wants, let him pass it around set up plays and turn you into a pylon ... I've seen you play defense and the latter is very true with you ...

I usually play grinder and I feel like he can deke through traffic better than anyone else, one of his strengths is picking up loose pucks and he has good balance and good hands. Dangler probably is better at deking but not by enough in my opinion and he is knocked off the puck very easily. But anyway, this topic has definitely ran its course.

You're silly. I keep my opponent in front of me ....i give him the space that isn't dangerous, limiting his options...should I skate at him as fast as I can and hope I hit him? There's a reason I have one of the best plus minuses.
I can't believe you said standing by your goalie is a bad thing, just shows you nothing about defense. I stand there when the puck is up at the point...(to collect rebounds from the point shot)...when the puck is on my D partners side(I don't chase the puck and get out of position) ...and to stop the cross crease...also to tie up the winger standing in front trying to redirect.
Take a hike ya twerp.

I hear you, well than it sounds like to use the dangler effectively you have to dangle in space and move the puck quick to be effective with him...me personally I don't see a real benefit with using that build.
I like the balanced builds most of the time.

Lol... Words of a young little pylon ... Keep standing still hoping the game works in your favor , good day kid. You play skill zone defense in eashl, lol ...
Ya it seems you have trouble comprehending things, everything you hear sounds like non sense, am I right?
The guy that thinks supporting your goalie is a bad thing defensively.
The guy that gets roasted at the red line, the guy that blames the game because he's just pressing buttons and launching accidental sauce passes. Hahahaha.
