Ability to simply deflect incoming passes to the offensive zone. Shouldn't have to always gain control of the puck to then shoot or pass it in. Actually, this should happen whenever we choose to. Very useful if you want to clear the zone on an incoming pass instead of having to "gain" possession to simply get destroyed.

Ability to skate by a puck without having to pick it up automatically. There should be a controller option that allows you to skate by the puck without initiating a pickup, such as to avoid an offside, or let a teammate pick it up instead, etc...

Ability to push the puck forward while skating, like we used to be able to.

Fully agree that one-timers should require more skill to pull off instead of just pressing for it and waiting as long as it takes to get that pass to initiate it. Way too easy as it is. Maybe not full manual, but maybe compromise by narrowing down the distance required to initiate it. Say maybe within 15 feet or so. More than that, and it shouldn't even initiate. Or, maybe have it so that the longer you press for a one timer, the less precise is the release. If a player can time it perfectly, maybe have it result in maximum precision.

Remove broken sticks on slapshots. Dumbest thing in EASHL. Not a required "NHL SIM". Just a real life replication that isn't needed. Don't argue realism as line changes are not even in the game, so don't see why broken sticks are needed.

Would like to see an option to give extremely hard body checks, but a huge backfire if missed. Result should be an over the top hit, or an insane miss. Trade off should be really high. Might counter those bubbles, might not. Who knows with EA at this point...

Fatigue should play a bigger part, imo.

Remove all the single player highlight reel fluff from EASHL and add an extra minute per period. The point is to get into play as quickly as possible after a whistle. Not interested in seeing highlights of a team missing too many shots, and Ray explaining all of it.

Would like to see a player get kicked after 20 seconds or so if he hasn't picked his desired position.

Ability to blacklist undesired players and resulting in never getting matched up with said players.

Ability to report trolls and actually have someone at EA do something about it. Maybe by using a way for EA to review a portion of the game to actually see the player trolling. I am sure you guys have ways of verifying if a complaint is legit.

Agreed, except for the black listing function. A club could abuse this to cherry pick by blacklisting players from good clubs.

Also agree with Set that stats in the intro to club games would be sweet. Ad a 10-30 min soft ban for clubs that quit from games (of course server selection must work so you're not being punished for quitting bc of lag)

Ya get rid of broken sticks on shots, that's a random thing that we can't control.
    That's realistic though.

Broken sticks on clean stick lifts resulting in penalties absolutely needs to go.

Also the "random" hook animation when trying to stick lift needs to go. There's absolutely no control when this happens. Users should only receive penalties when stick lifts are ill timed or out of position.

    I dunno.

To me, both of these things (broken sticks on shots and hook animation with stick lift) are random and out of the user's control.

This is the line EA walks trying to make the game have some flair (Ric - WOOOO), variety in penalties and "SIM" flavor.

Line changes are realistic too, but are absent from the game....

Only in EASHL ... but random stick breaks are realistic and part of the game. Something you can't necessarily control in real life either. However trying to stick lift and being forced into a hook animation is completely out of the users control.

This is a video game. This game doesn't allow for half the things that can be done in real life, so don't see why we should have to cope with yet another inconsistent garbage moment, such as broken sticks.

There are enough broken things in the game. Let's not include the sticks.

That would be great for club games (especially for those that have more than 6 players) and maybe even somehow for drop-ins (not sure how this could work, but maybe you could be 'dropped' into the bench anytime during a game until someone quits or fights or maybe at every whistle players rotate). I suppose people would get irritated though if they have to sit parts of drop-ins so maybe this should only be for club games.
  • Line changes would work if you were able to customize 4 of your players and line changed like you would in OTP. Would be a nice addition, not having to play as the same class the entire game.

Yeah this is the only way it would work for everyone. Some people may not mind sitting on the bench indefinitely, but most of us want to play.

I feel like games are too short for that. Some people wouldn't get to play or they'd have really short shifts. Periods would need to be doubled at least. If games took that long, it would probably not be too popular. It would be cool though.

Ummmmmm I would pay more for the game if this was all implemented. Genius!!! I would even suggest less or no replays in online. Games already take 10 minutes to find, then will all the fighting they take 30+ minutes.
  • If they are going to keep replays, atleast hire some camera men that aren't drunk lol.
Half the replays are focusing to close or totally away from the play.

    That's how u know it's a BLOWN CALL!

    All of this.

I'd also like to see some sort of board effect so that if a player skates into the boards like after missing a check that player stumbles or even falls to the ice.

I think most people want this back, including the incredibly awkward falling/injured animation that would have your guy writhing in pain while sliding halfway down the length of the ice.
