Internet setups

What is your internet setup you use for this crap of a game?

Internet speed download, upload, and ping
Hardwire/Wireless
Upnp on/ff
DMZ/port forward/port triggering
Alternate DNS servers or standard

Etc. Just wondering what people use bc the game never works for me. Always get lagged out by everyone and have a massive delay

I run 325 down, 30 up, 8-20ms ping, hard wire, upnp off
No DMZ or port forwarding or alternate DNS for me since messing with any of this just makes my team skate like bronze players.

  • Honestly, I don't think it has alot to do with your connection how this game performs.
  • i agree, you either play like a complete **** or you dont. i have my modem and router dmz'd, hardwired, 100mbps down and 30mbps up. standard dns, upnp on/ ping varies. if im hitting local server somewhere around 6-10. when it comes to opponents, varies on location. 1000km away i think im hitting 80-100. played one opponent last week claiming to be in minnesota, im in vancouver, 200-500 worst game i played and his team was all over me like flies on crap. a lot of kids are lagging it out giving them the advantage.
  • I would love to comment but every time I say HUT plays sluggish the same two people always disagree with me.
  • For the last two years I've always felt that hut didn't play as smooth as ovp. Sluggish is a good way of putting it. Ovp would only show this "sluggishness" over level 60. Just my personal experience, makes games against top level players very frustrating.
  • There has to be some reason why it affects seemingly random people.

Because no matter what I try or do I lag and most of all on weekends I can not even turn my game on

because the lag is so bad.

I would love to get a good connection to actually find out how this game is without lag.

The fact EA will not help me at all or solve this problem just makes me feel they don't want my business.
  • I don't think it's random people. I think some people just don't know better or accept it for what it is.
  • if you want HELP goto EAhelp.com

here's the truth.....it is you ,it is your internet.

do a trace route and see the missing packets, that is the problem.

EASHL is cloud based....nat means nothing. HUT/VS/DRAFT/SHOOTOUT is peer to peer and nat is important and really needs to be open.

think of nat like a condom....it is protecting us from your slow/ unstable internet connection

  • All I know is any other game I play online I don't lag or get a bad connection. In hut I do at times. There are times when I can do nothing at all some of it is me yes. Other parts of it are definitely the connection. See the thing with hut is people will affect your connection with them. They will manipulate things and attempt to mess up your connection with a ddos attack or by downloading a gigantic file. There are people on this forum that do these things brag about it and win games that way.
If the old forum data was still available people would see how bad it is. EA needs to dedicate servers to hut game play. They can have dedicated servers for every other game they put out but not for their biggest yearly sports titles. That would answer all of this blaming and the problems with alot of the delay in game play in hut.
  • I think everyone is getting the same garbage once and a while...like I have grinded out games with my full MOV squad skating like they are 84s but its not as fun as when you get that smooth connection and everything is crisp like hits, passes and shots...you know you got a mud game when passes are ghosting everywhere, easy snipes are consistently going wide, you cant hit anyone they are walking through charas and big buffs...when you get

  • I haven't been able to play a game that doesn't have at least a full second of delay for about 3 years now. I am pretty much convinced it's modem and router hardware as I always get stuck with crap and my isp won't let me change anything. I have learnt to enjoy getting owned by 5 year olds. It is so fun.

  • ya games sluggish at times, its been like that for as long as i can remember. one game your players can turn on a dime with the puck and acceleration is good. next game, complete opposite. you're skating out of mud with the puck, tanks are catching up to you. how it is, ive messed with every router setting, gameplay setting, nothing changes. all my speed tests have passed, pinging...

Finding a DNS server that isn't dropping packets helped a lot... try it.

    Lol great response!

I always find it remarkable how it's in MY head when this thread is filled with people having the same problem as well as the hundreds of people on twitter and Facebook having similar reactions.

I assume Assisted_ who has consistently been top 100, who has the same complaint, needs to "git gud scrub"?
