Opponent Quit Playoff Game, no Credit?

I thought EA made it clear that once a game starts, it starts, and if you quit the game then you LOSE and your opponent wins. I was playing HUT playoff and my opponent quit after I scored within the first 30 seconds. I didn't get credit for the win. Was this a bug or was EA giving wrong information?

There is still 60 seconds slot when opponent can quit the game. It is due to possible lag detection but sometimes players use it to quit.

It changed only for EASHL... it sounds lame but don't score in the 1st 60 seconds

Countless times the connection will say "good" and I get into the game and the lag is apparent. I'm thankful for the 60 seconds.
I have no hard feelings towards anyone who quits on me in the first minute if I score. It's pretty much part of the game. Also, I usually believe if I'm able to score that quickly, they're probably having an issue.

Seems like EASHL is where it would LEAST be a problem. I guess I'm conflicted because bad lag can ruin a game and I'd feel bad for anyone who gets stuck in a lagged game, but giving someone a chance to jump out just because they fall behind early is weak too. I hope the EA team gets creative and comes up with a better solution in the future. Thanks for the info everyone!

I had someone quit 4th round after looking at my goalie Joseph 3-0-0 889% 3.14 gaa.
lol what do you expect its 4th round.

Good thing he did though cause im pretty sure he beat me before

I like the 60 second rule to quit but if someone scores a goal in that time I think the game should count as a loss if they want to quit at that point.

Also goalie records have to be removed from this game. With pack rewards for winning games I have had more than half of the people I match up with back out after seeing my goalie record. And I use MS Roy at goalie bc of the stupid synergies we need to have now so I can't just swap him out easy for another one. I had to trade mine and 5k to a guy today to be able to reset stats essentially.

I think of you put him on auction house they reset. Just put him up for 10mil for a hour. I think that still works

Man, people have to JUST PLAY! One of my proudest moments was when I beat an opponent with a 37-2 Cujo, 2-0. It was FUN.
