I want the career mode totally scrapped the grading/training system sucks. I want to spend points I earn after a game in the attributes I want.
How about some a new Stanley cup celebration? One where your player actually lifts the cup in career mode. You've been using the same cut scene for like 4 years now.

Get rid of moral in be a GM it ****.
i think the current progression system is fine, I like how your skater gets better win the ability you use most on the ice, dont hit much well your hittings gonna suck.
Not much of a shot blocker? dont epect a goos shotblocking stat.
Really good at scoring? accuracy will climb same with shot power.
there current system is fine and realistic.
IF anything at all, they need to make it so you can actually play practices and impove based on the grade you recived in ech pratice

I just miss building the player I want putting points into what I want after earning xp after each game. The old system was fine IMO. and yes earning negative xp because you get chincy penalty called on you is so frustrating.
These are some of the many things I'd like to see fixed/improved for next year.
Create a team
I'd like to see something similar to NCAA Football games where you can write text on your jerseys. Either semi circle, horizontal, etc for the jerseys. Helps with the limited amount of logos.
Gameplay
1. Shooting & passing: Each takes well too long to perform. In real hockey you have more one touch passing that you cannot perform on here. It also leads to those 10 seconds battles where you can't pick up the puck. I think there also has to be improvement on passing. Both when passes go to nobody or they go to the wrong person. Half the time I have a wing open on a back diagonal & it goes to the defenseman when I aim diagonally. Of course if I aim straight across it goes to a covered person on straight to the far corner. For shooting, one-timers are ridiculous with guys flat out missing the puck. At first they would hit it wide, not constantly miss the puck.
2. How goals are scored. Shots from the point seldom go in without a screen or tip in real life. This is true with one-timers as well. This game way too many point shots go in & a lot of it has to do with how poorly the goalies move. I also see a lot of goals that are almost like basketball plays. Like someone skates into a pass like you would run to the ball to turn & shoot or passes it down to the center to do the same. There are some plays where it may happen, but not usually from a standstill.
3. There are some basic game physics items I'd like to change. First is to get players to turn their upper bodies. Definitely would help with the defensive game. I'm also tired of seeing people who skate slowly & slightly turn their body to shield the puck & keep their momentum to get by people. In real life you do that you would eventually just come to a stop & people just catch up to you and get to a stop.
4. The biggest one is AI. The AI is only okay when everything goes 100% to plan. Otherwise defenseman leave guys wide open, 2 guys will be nowhere near someone. No one will react as a player with the puck skates right by them on defense. Players with wide open lanes do windmill dekes instead of going to the net with the puck & players who should be by the back door, will inexplicably skate away from the net. I don't expect a game to be perfect, but these are kind of basic concepts for hockey.

yes it may be frustrating, but really when you think about it its not all that bad. the only thing i never understood about the current system is that there is no way to bring you discipline up. your stuck with whats given and have it slowly decline..... they severly messed up in that aspect because players always get more discipline as their career goes on.
Other than that i really dont see any issue. Yes the old system was fine, but this new system adds more of a realistic feel if you will. IMO its much better for the role play aspect of it. if you try to say you dont play BAP for the role plas aspect whats the point of playing it? BAP is a role play mode you build a guy with whatever name you please and turn him into the player you want.... therefore this mode is a RPG, i just wish they would make it feel more like a RPG rather than just another mode in the game.
they were well on track with that in 14 why they ever deviated from that course i have no idea
Online GM Connected!!!! We used to have a groups of 20 people who were in a GM Connected league every year. 5 of these people have only bought NHL 15,16 and 17. The last year GM Connected was in a game was NHL 14. I know we're not the only ones who really want this game mode back. It makes no sense why it was left out. BRING IT BACK!!!!!! GM Connected was amazing!!!!!
1. Be Traded in Be a Pro career mode
2. Retire in Be a pro mode
3. be able to trade around Future Considerations
4. Be able to talk with the coach and GM in Be a Pro Mode
5. Coaching Mode
6. Referee Mode
7. Create a new NHL team in Franchise Mode
1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Too complex for a video game.
4. Absolutely. Every sport game has this now. We used to have it back in 14...Bring it back.
5. This already exists in gm mode basically.
6. I'd rather the development teams focus on game play improvements then adding this mode.
7. The NHL won't allow them to change the structure of the league.
Please add custom camera views, the one that you can adjust tilt and zoom.
How well you play this game is very dependant on how you read and react to plays, and having the proper camera view greatly affects how fast and how well you respond to plays.
1. Weekend League in HUT like they have in FIFA
2. Save your line changes and strategies in versus so you dont have to change it every game.
3. Nerf skillzone
For BeaGM:
1. Goalie injuries during play. Make it so you can't injure a computer goalie by running him, but an innocent play, where you are hit into him, or a shot to the mask, or a desperation save, all have a small chance to injure him.
2. Players that get a 5min major, are suspended. Automatically 1 game. add more if injured (based on severity, +1 if minor, to +5 if long term), add 3 if previous suspension in GM mode (all players have 0 to start mode), add 5 if 2 previous suspension, double if 3+ suspensions.
3. If play is getting chippy, refs will call 10 min misconducts to next fighters.
On ice
1. Ref skates to center calls Team, player #, penalty length and call, for all penalty calls. (ie Toronto #43, 2 min minor for Tripping) or (Toronto #11, Detroit #10, 5 min each for fighting). Then after announcer does full penalty announcement.
2. During reviews, have a voiceover calling the decision, not just the arm gestures.
3. Variable officials. Ref 2 calls lots of High-Sticks, but doesn't really call charging, Ref 2 loves calling Cross-checking, but rarely calls slashing, etc. Linesman can blow close offside calls, call off icings they shouldn't have, or call icings they should have. MLB the Show has it for the Umpires.
4. Coaches challenge. Works with variable officials. They can blow close plays.
5. Line changes, where new players come on before old ones leave the ice, can lead to Too many men penalties.
6. More coaching options. Different PP and PK set-ups. Different faceoff alignments. Ot is 2 F, 1D.
7. For shoot-outs, teams choose first 3 shooters at start of SO. Then if tied, you choose next shooter each round, only shows available players.
8. When players fight, if less than 5 min in period, they go to dressing room, not penalty box.
9. After a penalty, before start of play, show ALL the penalty calls in graphics. Use team colored boxes,
Toronto Penalty Detroit Penalty
#47 Komorov 2min Slashing #39 Mantha 2min Roughing
#43 Kadri 10 min Misconduct #52 Ericsson 10 min Misconduct
Time 2:45
For a single penalty, show Player picture, full name.
1. World Junior gameplay offline!
2. Fix an Arena for the eurpean leagues! Like Ericsson globe for SHL and Hartwall Arena for the Liiga! That makes me happy, I don't like EA Sports Arena! you do not need to do all the team's own arena just so we have a fun arena to play in when we play SHL!
3. Do a section just for away fans like in FIFA!
Would like the ability to hire a coach in franchise. Then have that coach suggest who he thinks deserves to move up or down the line up. What AHL player deserves a shot. And during the draft have him and your scout have a list of players they suggest you take with the picks you have. Make it more in depth and feel like its an actual franchise with tons of people working behind the scenes
Also would like to see an option to play season mode with more then one season or add ability to control multiple teams in franchise. And a fun game mode like free for all in 07
