Is this game for real?
The matchmaking in this game is an absolute embarrassment. Sorry EA, I don't always have 5 friends online to play 6's every time I turn my system on when I wanna play a game of hockey. If I wanna play some OTP with one friend, or by myself, I find myself nab;le to find a **** game for over 2 hours on average. NOT ONE **** game!!! Unless I wanna ply the unbearable 3 forwards vs 3 forwards game, that is the only option I have. Me and my buddy both do group matchmaking in hopes to find 6v6. We both play the wings, we search for a game 20 times in a row. EVERY **** ONE IS A 3v3 GAME!!! EVERY **** TIME! 3v3 with no defense and no goalies. If you've ever played that, it's probably the most awful experience you will ever have. So after those 20 attempts at a game, I decide to go defense, and whaddya know? We get a 6v6 game right away. This happens every time. What the **** is wrong with this game??? Why does this game get worse every **** year? Every since this game went next gen, it has been a **** train wreck. And the sad thing is, this is only one of the mind blowing things wrong with the game. EA, fix your **** game or stop charging 60 bucks for it. As I type this, I'm about an hour an 15 min into trying to get a **** game started. I want answers.

Its because way more people play forward than defense or goalie. Most forwards in drop in are dont help on d, hang out buy the red line waiting for a pass, go offside all game when they dont get the puck and never pass to the point. Who wants to play defense when thats what you have to deal with all game.

dangler and two-way dangler.

So part of the problem could be that playing defense just isn't much fun without 1:1 defensive stick. No surprise after so many years imo.
that is just a result of the predetermined position selection prior to hitting game lobby and the community not wanting to play D or goalie IMO.

Defence is so broken no one wants to play it, then on top of that you get the forwards that don't get back into the defensive zone to help out but like to yell at the dmen who give up a goal on a 3 on 1 (of course the other dman is playing forward too)
just bring back the lobbies.
Drop in should be more of an open sand box approach where you can play 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. Positions are determined randomly before faceoffs. Drop in games should be one 5 minute real time period. It's a casual atmosphere.
The serious players will play 6s club anyway.
Actually we both went defence during the beta and the game was fun. We barely lost a game. Then the game came out, they nerfed the slap shot and the skating was horrendous. Now the game is almost unplayable unless you have 6s on. This game is pure trash.
Ea knows how bad the skating is, they just dont do anything about it. Theyre missing skating techniques that would give your guy more control. Instead, they stuff animations in that force you to skate in a direction you didnt intend.
The rebounds in this game just sit in the crease and make your players look like blind **** who cant tap in a puck in the crease with an open net.
The one timers for dmen are atrocious, 99 percent of the time.
Passes go right through your stick sometimes. Your guy will do a pirouette in front of the net when youre in the slot sometimes or on the boards standing still. Eventhough you were trying to do something else.
This game is pure trash.
You guys see a post about someone spending an hour looking for a game and your response back is all trash. "well maybe you should blah blah blah" maybe Ea should fix their game so people who have been looking for games the longest get defence the quickest. Rather than giving the dmen in que to whoever gets lucky timing????? If you back out of a game, youre still thrown in the same group match making lobby. Why cant EA just track how many times you quit out of 3 on 3 so youre in a que for dmen? Or just give us back the lobbies that were in NHL 15 for the 360? Is that really too hard for them to do on a next gen console when they could do it on the 360? Oh right, that would be way too obvious and help way too much.
