Now givin these are FAIRLY accurate i would say sales are not consistant. I really hope you are gonna figure out a solution to this problem.. or I myself will get basketball
Lets see if they remove this..
NHL 13... 1.3 mill across the two consoles.
Indisputable.
If we're going by that data, 16 has sold 1.1
Yeah theres a difference, but now we're talking 200k. For a bad NHL 16 game. Again, pretty stagnant.
NHL 17 - 570k across both consoles.
50% drop off in 4 years.
NHL 17 has been out 3 months. -_- Check back next September and it'll be over a mil.
Do you understand?
Okie Dokie there smokie.
Yer right. I dunno what I was thinking. Clearly the franchise is going in the right direction.
Don't need to be **** hurt. I never said that it was going in the right direction, let's not forget my original post in this thread was bolding you saying
The sales of the game are way down. Way down
simply not true.
The 200k drop off you mentioned before (from 1.3 to 1.1 units sold) is still 15% drop off.
I'd be "**** hurt" as you said, if I was a part of EA's executive team.
15% is a large drop off, Bunny.
The numbers dont tell the whole story either my dude. Technically NHL 15 is the best seller to date.
Looking at the big picture here, and the number of hockey fans around the world - the sales are stagnant. About a million or so each year. We can pinch pennies if you want, or we can compare those numbers to madden and fifa.
NBA 2k has non basketball fans buying that game. Im on board that something needs to change, but im sticking with the 'sales arent way way down' argument. Theres lots of reasons the eashl community feels smaller than before, and HUTs a big one. But its not really because of sales. A lot of people have been saying 14 was one of the best chels to date, yet those numbers pretty much match 16. We can be here all night, fact remains - stagnant.
I have no issues with Bunny - I think he has solid arguments for his opinions and is a good mod along with Kory and others... although some might think the "**** hurt" comment was a tad rash and not needed, it doesn't really bother me.
When we get back to simple civil discourse and disagreements around here (not to mention IRL) then the world will be a better place.

Ah good old respectable and professional Coca-Cola.
Maybe EA sports should change their slogan to:
"EA Sports, ice-tilt doesn't exist and isn't in the game but if you think it exists and is in the game then you're a tinfoil hat wearing moron so go buy more HUT packs."

Ice tilt = puck luck. Yes it's in the game ... Is there a slider though that works against I doubt it , I'm sure it's just poor devs and poor mechanics , too much randomness and relying on the game to do simple things for you means it's a self fulfilled prophecy created by the devs ...
On topic though ... I think the defensive d man should have a slight increase to agility, they feel worse than an enforcer to turn with ... Then again maybe it's just the bad skating engine we have ?
I cannot tell you how many people I have on my friends list that don't play the game anymore.
The sales of the game are way down. Way down. It's time for EA to wake up, stop catering to a VERY small subset of people with their demands and make a fun hockey game again with a solid replay factor.
This community is DYING.
Everyone loves to tout this around, but they really aren't down that much. The game isn't growing, it's pretty stagnant year to year. And that's the bigger issue with NHL and any business.
This is most likely true, however, funny thing here, sales are NOT growing. After all these years, they still haven't found a way to make this game attract more buyers. That in itself is a failure, IMO. The lackluster gameplay but adding new modes just isn't working. When the dev team decides to tackle a project, they should make sure to start working on it ONLY if they know it will be 100% complete. This includes testing and bug fixes.
Sorry to say, but adding stuff that does not work as intended, or adding patches that break other things that were working is not increasing sales at all. You are correct in using the term "stagnant."

I'm sure if the development team could predict the future, they'd be less concerned with using their new found powers to improve a video game.
Stop being a smarta$$ for a second and explain to me which addition is fully functional? Let's go back to only NHL 15, 16 and 17 as it should narrow the search down immensely.
I would expect that the team has a meeting prior to choosing what will be worked on and from there every department gives feedback and ETA's. If everyone says "That's do-able", then my question is, **** happened?
Every single addition from 15 till today is far from complete. But guess what? More broken additions to come for 18 while hardly fixing the previous issues! Ain't that something to look forward to? Gotta justify that release!
But speaking of new found powers, would they still have picked you as a mod back then? Ain't that an interesting question?

"Were listening to all the feed back and are aware of these issues and have forwarded everything to our team to come up with solutions that work."
Blah blah blah yada yada yada....
"Were still going to the make the game the way we want while catering to the casuals and newbies by making the game easy for them while giving the advantage to the offense because we know they want moar goals goals goals. There is nothing wrong with this game as long as people are buying HUT packs."
You know, all this could have been broken down into one sentence:
If everyone says "That's do-able", then my question is, **** happened?
During development, things happen all the time that sometimes hinder certain things from being accomplished.
I would normally agree with you here, except as I said, there is NOTHING that is polished so far. Seriously, not a single thing. Every single game mode has serious issues. The game itself crashes all the time on top of it.
This is more than just unexpected events that hinder.
i agree and disagree on the area of defensemen. Sorry but you can be facing the passer and still have the puck go directly through you many many times. so taking away the passing lanes is not enough. in fact I definitely felt like in NHL 15, previous gen, as a defensive dman I was much much better at intercepting passes.
That's mostly my feeling as well. You might have more passes get through in 15, but it would be because you weren't facing correctly or something along those lines. If you were in position though, you did intercept the pass every time it felt. In 17, it's easier to face the play, but it feels like they toned down the interceptions to compensate for it.
I can't be the only one that has passes go right through me when I read the play correctly. I'm not saying it happens a lot but way more than it should. I've seen videos of pucks going through physical objects like sticks and ppl say it's due to player class. So interceptions aren't where they should be.
A lot of times I say, ****! I should of intercepted that. Then I dissect the replay and see, I was skating to fast, a little out of position, the pass had sauce on it...etc.
ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE, the puck will go through my blade a bit...but overall the physics being more true and helpful to defensive play have improved greatly. Playing as a d-man, it used to be pretty frustrating watching that happen ALOT!
I actually think defence was easier in 16 than in 17 due to the fact that offends was a bit nerfed. Passing accuracy was harder, passing reception was harder an

You're arguing with people that just don't understand anything, really. All they think is a video game should be perfect all the time and not be released until it is.
Every game company does this. Time to catch up to the world, guys. Is it right? No. But that's how it is. Should you accept it? No. Should you like it? No. Should you

Excuses. This seems to happen all the time with this series. They'll try to do a certain thing but something will "hinder" them from doing that certain thing and then they'll screw something else up in the process.
What do you mean "this series"? That's what happens with every single other game ever made. Do you not play other games?
Offense is still OP, but defense is a lot better this year. Poke checks work great, tie ups are a nice addition ...and passes don't go through you if your in a lane or good position.
I don't know how you can say it was "easier" in 16....it's not even close.
