Computer Defensemen

This might be a general issue but since I play eashl the most ill post here. We keep experiencing our defensemen going from behind our own net and on the way out they turn right into our goalie and it's either a turnover or the goalie freezes it. It's been going on all year and it's still not fixed

Will never be fixed. Ea supposedly patched that like 3 months ago. At least your goalie freezes it .My club goalie let's it go in for a game winning goal.

Trust me we have had the goalie kick it in as well

The AI defense are pants-on-head stupid around their own net.

Constant turning into the net, attempting passes through the net and/or goalie instead of around the boards and the always popular decision to ignore the open winger on the half-boards and instead pass it directly into the slot from behind the net.

My "favorite" is when they move to pick up a puck behind the net and instead of continuing to skate in a straight line out the other side they always, *always* feel the need to stop and attempt to turn around to go back in the direction they came even when there's offensive players breathing down their necks.

The only thing you can really do is try to limit how much you play with AI defense. If it's unavoidable then just make sure you don't rely on them for any kind of intelligent play around the net.

  • I have a ton of saved clips of our defensemen either poking or shooting the puck into their own net when the puck is loose in and around the crease. It is an awful herp a derp that should be fixed. Also agree with the comment of your D pinning themselves to the boards for no apparent reason with people not even very close to pressuring them.
