Since the gameplay update....

I can't be the only one that thinks the online play has literally been moved down a notch or two on 'speed'??
I've double checked twice that it isn't listed as a change, but since downloading it, every single game I play is sooo much slower than before.
Anyone else agree?

  • Ya, I would make it faster, accels quicker and periods shorter. Also there's too many players for such rink, so get rid some players or the refs at least. The space is way too cluttered with physics and other nonsense that makes hockey not fun.

And goals should be wider and passing snappier to support "team play" and boost fun factor. Just look at the Rocket league, it's so much fun.
  • I hear that's your opinion. But the question was 'has it been tweaked recently??'

    :)
    No, from what I know.
  • Love it when the subject totally changes.... :(
  • For EASHL games I think the speed is fine as is.

Periods shorter? I hope you're not talking EASHL because on average I think the shot totals are much lower than they should be. Too often I see games with shots between 15-20 for each team.

Get rid of some of the players?

I don't think the space is "cluttered" at all. There is plenty of open space and I think the settings/tuners should be adjusted more to what happens in any real north american hockey league. Watch an NHL game. The players appear to have less space than we do. There is a lot of neutral zone play. A lot of times a player is forced to dump the puck in once he crosses centre ice. There is a lot of chip and chase plays. Players are often very quick on each other forcing them to move the puck quickly to a teammate.

This game is almost the opposite. A lot of the times it's run and gun pond hockey. The D's have plenty of time to make those bomb long passes to the forwards for 2 on 1's and breakaways. Forwards can dipsy doodle and skate around to evade defenders. Forwards deke way too often. It's way to easy to find open spaces in the offensive zone for one-timers. The quality of scoring chances are high compared to the total shots taken. A team might only get 10 shots on net but probably 5 of those will be really good chances.

Look at when a team is in the PK and see how they play as if they weren't. There are an unrealistic amount of short handed goals in this game.

I'd like EA to increase the games to 6 minutes and change the settings/tuners to tighten up the game but reflect more realistic shot totals. Then I think we'd see who the real skilled offensive players are and the teams that play as one succeed a lot more.

You just got played like a fiddle, eh vat bud? o:)

  • I just hope some of the devs don't takes these mine suggestions seriously too :)

Sounds to me like the forwards in the defensive zone are not properly playing their position?

Do you have an issue with me bud? :smirk:

Just found your response to his blatant facetiousness to be rather funny. Continue on, eh bud? ;)
  • Since i posted this I've played another 10 or so games. Online vs.
    IT HAS DEFINITELY CHANGED.
It's so ridiculous. After played one game it makes me feel like a need a lay down. To get one of my players to the other end of the ice. It's literally an effort.
Surely other people are experiencing this????
