Just played a few games, it's still terrible. Don't get your hopes up anyone. So many garbage goals. This game is pure cancer. Set up good plays and cycle the puck, no goals. Carry the puck into the zone, lose it multiple times trying to dangle through everyone, get it back, shoot immediately, scores top corner.
This game puts me in a bad mood every single time I play it now, even winning is frustrating.

This narrative becomes harder and harder to buy into the more it's repeated. The idea that a player heroically cycles the puck and sets up highlight reel scoring chances, only to be thwarted by sinister RNG or superhuman goaltending, but that same person is ALSO victim to non stop soft goals against, revealing truly how deep the rabbit hole goes. YAWN.
The game has a myriad of issues, puck pickups, at times dreadful AI, player switching and several others. It isn't actively working against you though. Do you realize how insanely hyperbolic you sound when you refer to a video game as "a cancer"? Ever had cancer or known someone close to you who does? The experience is not at all comparable to you not enjoying an electronic toy. Also, if you hate it that much, just stop playing. I see the excuse of "well, I love hockey and it's the only game, blah, blah, blah, whine, cry, whine". That doesn't hold water though if it's at the point where you need to make grandiose and delusional comparisons to one of humanities leading causes of death. So seriously, if it constantly pushes you to the point of apoplexy, why are you playing it? Almost all discussion of the game itself, or even constructive discussion on how to improve it is gone from these forums. In it's place is this constant droning of the same complaints, couched in the same levels of hyperbole and invented persecution complex. You guys can just copy and paste from each other's posts to save the time it takes to write them, because they are all identical. This game is not a cross that anyone makes you bear. Those same complaints have been written and read ad nauseum. It's old already.

Agreed but you know what else is old? The same problems being in the game year in and year out. IF things were fixed, people wouldn't need to complain and beat a dead horse everyday, the 2 go hand and hand mate......
Again, it's not like EA is the only company to ever have people complain about their product. I filed Lemon Law on my '05 Chevy Cobalt back in '07, you know what, there IS/WAS a forum (much like these here Forums) where people went to COMPLAIN about the problems they encountered with their particular Cobalt. Until things get fixed, people will complain and complain and complain and complain

Even playing only 4-5 games peer week for LG is a chore now. Probably quitting that two in 2 weeks once The Show 17 comes out.
Lol @ the "various bugs fixes, turning and improvements" for patch notes. Like really? Won't even let us know what was fixed.
Idk if it was the patch or just bad luck, but the last 3 games I had in HUT using Movember Ben Bishop (89 overall) in net, my opponent has just shot a standard wrister from the top middle of my zone right into the top corner with no screen. The shot wasn't even hard, and the player didn't wind up. Just a soft wrist shot top corner from the middle of the ice just inside the blue line.
I do think the narrative of soft goals vs. cycling is overplayed as well, but there needs to be a bit of tuning to prevent goals my grandmother could save from EVER going in. These kind of goals happen in real life once or twice per season. They shouldn't be going in here, imo.

Actually every single one of those issues will work against you. What do you think they don't affect games at all? Seriously, you're agenda to apologize for the game's gameplay issues don't even make sense. Do you even play people online? It doesn't sound like it since you have no clue how badly those issues affect head-to-head games. Take the following scenarios which are common in this game:
You can't pick the puck up, but your opponent swoops in and grabs it, that doesn't work against you? You can't switch players for several seconds, hence, you cannot defend at all for that amount of time. When you can't play any defense at all, this doesn't work against you?
"I do think the narrative of soft goals vs. cycling is overplayed as well"
Disagree, I don't think it's possible to overplay discussing this issue. You have a better chance of scoring skating the puck right into defenders, many time you will get tripped, slashed, slip by the defender, or lose the puck but get it right back, and all this puts you in a prime scoring position. Even weak shots dribble in just as often as clean wristers. The payoff is just too high not to just skate in and get lucky, if you dump the puck in 9 out of 10 the other team retrieves it, so that doesn't pay off to try, if you skate in and try to cycle you end up turning over the puck a large % of the time so that doesn't pay off enough, and if you do keep a cycle going you can't get it backdoor/crosscrease without it being tipped, intercepted, or goalie making a superman save, the best cycle anymore is get it back to the point and throw it on net and hope to get lucky. Gone are the days of full control of your skater and controlling the puck, working it for open clean shots.
All you see is quick shots for big rebounds to other wing, or point shots for deflections and rebounds, (oh, and cherry picking of course). The cycle is a dead strategy, it can be done sparingly, but it doesn't pay off well.

You can press options over NHL 17 then update history. If there is notes that is.
Thx!
