I only play EASHL, so that's what I'm talking about:

AI needs a lot of work. It needs to get better at many things, but defensively it can be too good at the moment. On aggressive 1 on 1 defense for example, AI is often anticipating human player's movements before you even do them (AI is clearly reacting to controller movements instead of what is going on in the game).

Puck pick-up animations need to go. They make my player skate when I want to stop, and stop when I want to skate, etc etc. They just do not work, at all. We want to have as much controll in game as possible, this is not doing that.

Shooting should get fixed. One timers are whiffing everywhere for no reason, way more than in previous versions, for no reason. Other thing is that when I have for example whiffed on a one timer and the puck is close, my player still tries to shoot that puck. He gets stuck in this shooting animation and glides towards the puck and the tries to shoot. It never works. That looks stupid, happens way too often and should get removed.
I agree eashl needs some work but overall I feel it's very good, adjustments for me is opposite to you on ai D.. need to be better, it's way to easy to deke around them. D needs to be improved behind the net, they get caught up on the wall and on the net and sometimes end up putting the puck in their own net! NOT GOOD. Now the most frustrating thing on eashl is the glide everyone knows about it and all those who do it should be removed from the game it's so frustrating and over powered, hold the deke then shoot and score it's shocking and boring. its almost impossible to hit them or poke check them and if ur lucky u will trip them up and give them a pp, which is better option rather than the guaranteed goal when they shoot.

Yes, sometimes you can get around the AI D-man, as you should. But what I'm talking about is their "cheating" in many situations. Every time human player makes a surprising turn with the puck against AI defender, AI reacts to it way faster than any human defender ever could. Then as they react to it so quickly they can lay a hit on you right away and take the puck. I know I can avoid this by passing the puck etc. but it's still something that should be looked at. AI should absolutely never be better than human player in anything (with human player I mean a solid div1 player).

People are relying on AI defense to shut every attack down. That is completely because AI is that good at defending right now. If you could walk past them most of the time, you would see a lot more human D-men in 3vs3 games for example. I know they have their weaknesses, and they make very stupid decisions with and sometimes without the puck, and those should definately get better in 18. But still, for me the "cheating" is the biggest cause of annoyance in AI.

  • World Cup and world championsip.
  • Bring the Be a Pro system or similar to EASHL drop ins but keep the class system for club and challenge mode.

This will improve the drop in experience by forcing more people to play well if they want the xp to rank their player up and bring the build your own player experience many want. But will keep things balanced for club matches/6v6 leagues.

mine is a very simple request, but it irritates the hell out of me that EA is completely clueless about this

in stats.... it's TOTAL AVG ICE TIME that matters.... not TOTAL MINUTES PLAYED! come on EA, aren't you a fan of hockey?

    pls adjust this asap!
  • Please EA! Me and my friends have been craving gm connected since it was introduced to us. It was such a great mode where u could play like the real nhl and compete with your friends. All i want for nhl 18 is gm connected... it would be so freakin' awesome.

Can we created plays back for OVP? I mean.. I'm sure there was some glitch that was the reason for it being taken out of the game but can't you figure it out EA? Having your own plays/player movements adds much needed depth to the 1v1 modes and if they work correctly they reward players with hockey sense/experience/creativity.

There was no glitch -- they just left created plays out because they said not enough people were using the feature. They absolutely need to bring them back, though -- it would be a huge help in counteracting the AI's stupidity on breakouts and the rush.

Oh ok. Well that's a pretty lame reason to leave out a seemingly resource-light feature... besides, it was already IN THE GAME. So why the need to take it out? Wasn't it taken out even before the switch to current gen?

  • It would be pretty cool to get the feel of being an NHL Player. Like go to press conferences, go on ice warmups before games and go to actual team practices. Also, bring back interviews and team events.
  • please please do a story line for be a pro come on
  • Reintroduce the friend leaderboard for EASHL and Drop in. Seriously, wake up EA.

Seriously though can we get created plays back. I'd buy 18 just for that alone.

By the time the PS5 comes out we still won't have all the features from the PS3/360 era.

Last I heard Sony and Microsoft said these consoles were going to be that last ones. But I get your point, and agree.

Wait so lemme get this straight... You have a problem with people gliding before they shoot in order to stabilize themselves and provide for better balance and accuracy? I fail to see how this should be an issue.
