It's only used because the AI is so bad at covering on defense against the rush. I don't like it but have no choice and have to use it or else it will be game over. If they improved the AI defensive coverage on the rush then it wouldn't be the only option for players
  • There are 3 ways to beat the trap.

    1) Quick/aggresive transition to not allow your opponent to setup in the trap

    2) dump and chase (more often than not, your opponent will get to the puck first in this game but with an aggressive forecheck you can easily force turnovers.

    3) If you cant get a quick transition, give the puck to one of your dmen just inside your own blue line and fire a seam pass to the forward right before he gets to the opposing blue line. When the D is in a set formation like this, it is easy to catch them flat footed. I get many breakaways against a 1-4 like this.
  • Stop playing people who position lock. It's that simple. Cut off their oxygen let them play position lock against the AI. So cute.

I don't play position lock either
    Boring
They'll try and get sneaky and change jerseys or click Rdy then unready 19 times

    Or another strategy

Dance around in the neutral zone passing the puck around because his whole team is on the blue line till a lane opens up and go deep into the zone.
