DEVS should be able to give us a detailed list of changes they will be making based on NHL 18 beta feedback.

This list should also include first patch/tuner notes on things they can't get done by release date but will soon follow.

We their paying customers deserve this communication, we deserve to know what they will be fixing so we can make informed decisions about purchasing the game.

The entitlement is strong in these 2.

None of which you listed are items they have to provide. Too bad, so sad.

Once the game is released then any features or modes can/should be listed, but you think you are entitled to all that other stuff? Lol, talk about delusional.

I'll fix both your problems right now.

OP: simply wait for further reveals over the next month, or wait until release date. You will have your answer by then. Patience. Get some.

Sgiz:move. You live literally as far from the server's as one can within north America. The only issue you have is an issue only you can fix. You are doomed by the reality that latency increases the further you are away from a server. It's not on ea to fix your specific geographical problem.

The other stuff you mentioned is a nice to have, not an obligation ea is required to do. Stop being such a needy woman.

There, now you both can fix your issues if you so choose to.

Posts in all caps accomplish nothing. I'm still waiting to hear about Franchise Mode but you don't see me kicking and hollering for it. I can wait, it's coming at some point. And to tide you over for BAP perhaps check this out.

    Particularly this part
    BE A PRO

No, Be A Pro isn't turning into a story-focused mode like Madden's The Longshot and FIFA's The Journey. The biggest change coming to Be A Pro is the return of trade requests. If you don't like how a team is using you, feel free to tell them you want out. EA added a few new coaching proficiencies around new features like the revamped dekes and defensive skill stick. The devs also played around with the call-up/send-down logic to hopefully make these decisions more believable.Given the attention EA paid to puck support and player positioning, expect your teammates to be more effective this year.
  • That's truly pathetic. The big feature for BAP this year really is the return of requesting a trade, with a couple of added options that were never available before?

No mention of changes to how your goalie will be viewed as far as starter vs backup is disheartening
  • how does this year compare to past years as far as info reveal for the game release?? Feels awfully quiet... sure doesn't bode well. exa

The thing is, apparently this is EA's marketing strategy this year across the board for all games. It's honestly stupid because it makes people think they are hiding something (in the same manner as you implied)

PES has sold a ton of preorders because they have been very vocal about their game, while EA's FIFA has been out of the spotlight. Point is, most people arent willing to save money for both games if there is competition. Every PES game preorder sold should be considered a lost sale for FIFA.

Then look at NBA 2k18. They market so aggressively, maybe too agressively at times, but the end result is that everyone knows what they are buying come September. On the other hand, people are still asking questions about what game modes NBA Live 18 will have. Lolwut....give EA the L on that one.

To get back on topic, I would also like to point out how EA has never communicated to NHL players that they even acknowledge all the feedback for BAP and Franchise saying they need to incorporate more leagues, even if it is just ECHL. Adding all the Euro leagues would do wonders as well...but I digress. Can't wait to demand a trade only to be told I haven't proven myself yet even though I am leading the league in all offensive categories my rookie season.

I think next year BAP will see at least a little love from EA but hopefully a full fledged do over.

If NHL 19 is the Frostbite year, I believe we will see a "story mode". But with that said, the existence of such a game mode will not impact the existing BAP mode, which i am sure most will confuse with the story mode when it is announced. As such, I don't think we will see BAP improvements the first Frostbite year. Hopefully I am wrong.

If not NHL 19, then for sure NHL 20.

Well I was thinking it would be a story mode assuming a changeover to the Frostbite engine.

I would hope for more improvements than a predetermined story mode but would at least be a change

Madden devs said they worked on story mode for 3 years +. Don't hold out hope for a 'story' mode in NHL til at least NHL 25.

Can't believe people actually like these story modes. What a waste of time.

How do we know NHL devs haven't been working on it for a similar amount of time though?

And to answer your question, the reason some people actually enjoy the story mode stuff is because it provides them with that feeling of engagement with the other players and coaches on your roster that is sorely missing in generic career modes.

On the flip side, some people criticize 2k for forcing the story elements on it's career mode. Sadly, that group is a vocal minority for one reason or another...

As far as NHL is concerned, it needs the Frostbite engine and story mode desperately to break up the repetitiveness and lack of innovation. It won't be the savior of the series, but it will at least bring something different to the table.

Instead of playing one week, the casuals will spend an entire two weeks with the game now. One week for story mode, and one week to get bored of playing all the other modes. Good job devs.

If the NHL team has been working on a story mode for that same amount of time, there'd still be that same amount of time left before they actually complete it..
  • If NHL 19 is on Frostbite, expect a stripped-back game feature-wise, as they wanted to focus on "building a solid foundation from the ground up". Then proceed to notice animations from NHL 10 in the game.

I believe if that were to happen and it was bad enough product, sales would plummet so much NHL would be cut by EA. Think about it. Not once, but TWICE in the same generation? That wouldnt sit well with anyone. That's another reason I think NHL 20 is maybe more likely than NHL 19 Frostbite...gotta make sure EASHL is in the game as well as being able to draft players manually in Franchise mode. Does anyone else remember the gutted NHL 15 GM mode they needed to wait until December to get drafting patched in? Lol

Remember buying a game based on what was on the back of the box?

Remember having to just deal with it if the game didn't match up to your own expectations?

Remember when a glitch goal was discovered, you used it to **** off your friends and whoop their **** instead of spending countless hours on an internet forum constantly spouting your personal beliefs and berating anyone that disagrees with you?

Remember if the game sucked, you'd just tell everyone you knew it sucked and then moved on with your life?

Remember not being a spoiled entitled snowflake, demanding the personal issues that you have with the game get fixed immediately as a "paying customer"?

    How about these examples?

Remember when it felt like a solid effort was put into making video games? Almost as if the developers wanted to be proud of their creation.

Remember when games that followed yearly releases would be drastically different from year to year?

Remember when there were no "leaderboards" and beating someone in a game was just for bragging rights, hence making the experience of playing the game all about having fun regardleas of whether you win or lose?

Remember when a game sucked and people would rightfully **** on said bad game, never to purchase the second version of it...instead of just "dealing with it"? Almost like gamers used to have standards or something, imagine that :p

Remember how awesome it was to hear that developers could fix unforseen issues with a game after release, only for them to then use that as an excuse to release broken unfinished products in the modern video game industry?

Understand I'm not directing any of this only at EA, as it is an industry wide issue. The fact is, a ton of games have the issues outlined above, which just infuriates everyone in general. When they see a big company with a ton of money pulling these stunts, it makes them an easy target for ridicule. Plus, the internet gives everyone a voice...for worse.
