  • Yea, this is going to be the #1 issue for sure. Playing Franchise mode with Custom Rosters have been in the game since, what 1998?? No reason to not have it.
  • Same here i only play franchise mode with my kids created!
  • Unfortunately you can only use custom rosters/created players in CLASSIC Franchise mode. I hope they can find a way to patch it in and make it work some way because I know this is a contentious issue with many who like myself primarily play Franchise mode.
  • I was able to create two x 20 year old skater free agents that are in my 32 expansion franchise mode. I picked them up as free agents and signed them to the golden knights after the expansion and rookie draft. I think the trick was to leave them as free agents. I havent tried adding them to a team, ill try tonight.
  • I can so under futhre investigation, my two created player were in the free agents list, in 31 expansion mode as golden knights. I started again and assigned one too the GK's and one I left the same. The one I left the same was still under free agents when starting a new game whilst the one I assigned to GK's beforehand was no longer ingame as a free agent or GKnight member. Hope this helps, but in simple terms if you want created players in 31 team franchise mode leave them uassigned as free agents as try and sign them in a new game.

hmm wow you were right i quickly tried this on 32 mode expansion, i didnt "assign" a team to my 1 created player, but on the drafted by team he was on carolina, when i started the game he was actually on carolina, but i guess the trick is to make sure they are not assigned.

Now i wonder if this will work with future draft picks?

Guess ill try and update this.

edit: him appearing on carolina might have been a fluke, I didnt notice if he got drafted by carolina that season (might have happened that way, as i had him created born in 1999 and in a new attempt i noticed him in the first year draft class)

    Great News.

So i did some messing around with created players (rookie type players)
I played on 32 team Expansion. When i created a player with a birth year of 1999 they appear as first year draft picks !!!! so if you want to draft your created player to your own team, Its totally possible!!!!

I created another rookie with birth year of 2000, and he appeared in the next year draft, under "rest of the world"

So creating 3 years worth of Rookies is totally possible!! as they have Birth years up to 2001

This is the saving grace i suppose... I can live with the old rosters as long as i can use my own created characters!

Also the only way this seems to work is if you DONT assign them to a team. (its possible this might even be a bug)

    enjoy folks.

Cannot create three years worth. Only one years worth. The rest disappear into the abyss
  • This is good news and better than having no alternative at all!

I created 2 years worth, as i stated, they show up in the "rest of the world" section of the scouting. I only tested with 2 years, not 3 but im sure its possible seeing as, 1999 showed up in the first year draft and 2000 2nd year, there is also 2001 which im quite sure would show up in year #3

Congrats on getting your createds in the league. One thing that sucks though is EA still doesn't label them as "Rookies." I did a bunch of tests, even simmed entire year to entry draft to see if my 17-year-old created player was there. While he did indeed get drafted in 2018 Entry Draft, he was not listed under Rookie Skaters, just like last year.
  • This forum would be great if actual people who work on the game replied to threads about bugs/issues like this. I get not replying to the complainer threads (but not really...) but threads that are about actual bugs should be addressed by EA devs.
