Did EA take out all of the authentic goal somgs from the game? Leave it to them to fix one thing and break another. Well i guess it’s another disappointing year for presentation.
So as I mentioned in another thread, would a MOD or someone from EA please chime in and say whether or not we will get custom music back?! As someone who enjoys franchise mode and playing off-line, music/goal horns/goal songs etc. is a big freakin deal and adds tremendously to the atmosphere. They removed what few actual goal songs were left and put in a bunch of generic cheesy crap (along with the garbage soundtrack). I'll be waiting, EA...

I preordered the deluxe edition, and because of this plus nothing really new, I’m canceling my preorder and just sticking with 18. I’ll keep it until they can answer us and if they don’t well I’ll just keep my $80.

Custom music is not returning this year. No EA Sports game has it. Also as for goal songs this is how it works. EA sends a letter asking for use of songs and if they don't sign off on it they can't use certain things. I'm sure there is a ton more legal mumbo jumbo but that is what I remember being said a couple years ago.

Thanks for the reply. I figured custom music would not be back this year but do you know if there is any discussion about it for the next iteration of the game?

I have no clue, but trust me every single sports game asks for this feature from EA and they aren't doing it for whatever reason.

This doesn't seem to make sense though. The teams only have the rights to use the goal songs, they don't own them. So why would EA need each individual team to sign off? It would make more sense if the artists had to, but I would assume the NHL teams would get no financial gain.
I'm sure there is legal stuff that goes on, but that doesn't explain the 10+ songs that were supposedly dropped this year. For example, why would the NY Rangers not sign off on the goal song they have used since '95? Especially since the song was in the game for the last 5-6 years.
There has to be another explanation. If you can show me where you found this information, I will believe you, but this sounds highly doubtful.
The same goes for custom music. Just because EA doesn't provide it in their other games is not a reason why they shouldn't or don't for NHL. When NHL had the custom music in the past, I don't recall any other EA game having the ability to add custom music at the time. So rather than speculate, I would like to see if we could get an answer from a mod or developer. If it's legal reasons, then I understand, but I don't see this as the issue as other games now have the ability.
So I just watched that vid and saw Rammer's comment about custom music. Sorry, but to me it makes zero sense. He states putting the feature in is no problem, "we've done it before" but then says it is the licensing issue that is the sticky point. What licensing issue is there for them? You don't need to license anything just put the feature in and let us add whatever music we have. How is that a licensing issue for them and why is supposedly a "sticky point" now as he called it when it wasn't before?
I haven't seen the video but I remember in WWE I had custom music and whenever I would live stream there would be no music on the stream but music on my TV. When I put in a ticket I was informed it's a protection the game has in place because of licensing. I wonder if that's what hes talking about.

And that would be perfectly OK and understandable as long as it plays on our end. Just seems like EA is full of excuses on this issue.

Exactly. The sabres goal song was voted best in the league and I was hoping it would finally be in this year. Very disappointing.

Yeah but they already had the songs.
They have to do it every single year

Custom music is in The show, a PlayStation exclusive. So I doubt this.
As stated, MLB The Show has custom music so I don't think that is the reason. Hopefully next year will be the year.
