Wheres the goal songs?

Replies

  • Ironically I haven't noticed an issue until I created a team in franchise mode for expansion and had no real goal songs to pick from. Much to my disappointment. I liked having the option to pick from the whip or crowd chant since I like both of those songs as goal songs. I don't even remember what song I picked.
Read some of my stuff at www.sportsprowler.com
  • Unless they're actually waiting to public release day instead of early access release day there's no authentic goal horns in this game at all.

That must be it.. I hear music but not the real ones.

Why would they not be in the EA Access trial version? That doesn't make sense. I'm thinking there are no authentic goal songs at all.

Get rid of the menu crap and give us authentic goal songss..simple!. Why do we need menu music..just have sounds of pucks hitting boards and skates on ice. EA devs understand that we pay for realitic things...HUT makes how much money? budget? pfff!.

The Blues do have their Blues go marching in song in the trial version. I'm not sure what other teams have their authentic songs.

  • Well, they seemed to have budget for custom goal horns in chel? I am not even sure how they're supposed to work, but apparently you can create and mix your own?

Theres budget for audio in general. You surely cant compare licensed music to a generic fog horn right? That stuff is probably free use if I had to guess.

Who needs a "soundtrack" in a sports video game, seriously?
Especially if that prevents the game to have an authentic goal songs.
  • Bruins goal song is in. That’s the only one I’ve noticed.

Whatever happened to "if it's in the game, it's in the game"?

    Notice they dropped that slogan.

I guess not, but it doesn't seem all that simple to make, since there are many elements to the custom goal horn to implement, low, medium and high tones, etc. and apparently a lot of custom elements you get from the bags. So you need to make these, sample and edit or whatever, and then code how they will work together, and then add an interface in the game for it. So it's not really all that simple. And if it takes time and effort, it will cost something to EA, right? Maybe not the same as music, but it all amounts up.

  • Bunny you bring up the budget my question is, what is the budget for the NHL series and how much is it compared to revenue gained through sales and hut.
  • I gather that is a rhetorical question, as if anyone of us knew.... :*
  • I believe one of the Devs chimed in on another thread and said the reason for no goal song was due to lack of funds in their audio coffer.

I believe it may have even have been in this thread. I'm actually just upset that the current goal songs they have in tend to sound more like lullabies. Not much excitement.

I haven't heard any goal songs yet... because I can't score goals. HaHa. I agree its a little bland makes me feel sleepy. I've always used the Buffalo's goal horn for my clubs is that still there? Its one of the best.

With technology these days and easy access to recording programs. Perhaps EA could hold a contest and challenge the community to create their own original goal songs to be used in future games. Winners would receive a free copy of that years game. Lots of very talented a creative people in this community. I would do it. And it would cost virtually nothing for EA. Just an idea.

The horn is in VS, but I haven't had a chance to check if it were in club. I would assume it would be, but I don't make assumptions about this game anymore. I saw there's some option for making goal horns. I don't know if that was there last year or not. I always just used the default.
  • As I've said, custom music needs to come back. But if EA really feels the need to drag their feet on that, then at least allow us to edit the generic songs that are currently in place!! It wouldn't be as bad if we could at least change the teams generic goal song to something else they have in the game much like one can do when you create a team. A fairly simple compromise, I would presume.
