What happened to the hitting?

A few weeks off and the game is completely different? Being there hitting and physicality back!!

Replies

  • This one HAPPENS EVERY YEAR, the hitting get tuned down after first patch. What’s the point? Every year Has to be the same experience? Bigger, faster, stronger players, let’s see it. This is hockey for crying out loud. Another thing, let’s hear bigger crowd reactions for big hits home and road. How about mking the game fun?? Lighten up EA everything doesn’t have to be a struggle it’s a video game
  • You made a thread about speed being gone and then a thread about hitting being gone, AFTER taking a few weeks off.

    Perhaps you're just rusty mate.

I noticed in BaP that lining up for a hit takes a little more precision in order to do an effective hit. Otherwise it's just a dud, you miss a little with no effect? Has this been tuned down somewhat recently? This was after getting the Strength trait for my big sniper, so I was wondering if that had anything to do with it?
  • I thought it was just me. When I play defense, I run a 6’4, 214 defensemen with heavy hitting 2 and brute strength 2 on and can’t seem to hit as well as I did before the tuner. Maybe it’s just me.

We haven’t made any changes to hitting so far this year. The only changes in that realm were to do with bug fixes and tuning around the get ups after full falls.

    NHLDev,

A lot of instances where you’ll land a perfect hit on an opponent who somehow manages to immediately spring back up from the ice and possess the puck. It’s not always, but it’s not realistic either.

I have noticed no changes either when it comes to Club play. You guys still don't know what interference is. Charging is never called, elbowing is never called, boarding is called once every 30th boarding happens, you dont know what checking from behind is either. You allow guys to take 15 strides into a check that's called charging. I don't know how many times I have seen a guy get blasted by a elbow in the face lost count with no penalty called. Same with boarding. You guys even watch hockey because you know how many tripping calls happen in real life in a game maybe 2. I get it with the guys poking out of position getting called. But the lack of control and the game randomly deciding to have my guy poke right at a guys skate even though my stick blade is right next to the puck skating side by side is uncalled for. Maybe you guys should start calling the body checking penalties it's out of control the non calls.

If your online in eashl what was the guys Competitive Rating or CR if it was in the 300 to 450 range and your well over 500 he probably had a noob bubble around him.
  • Hitting and nudging still works perfectly fine against the CPU (offline) however I wish the aim assist was reduced and required more skill to land good body contact similar to poke check before it was nerfed.

Can you please provide proof of this? I will wait.

Obviously you already know since you put (offline) CPU in eashl bounce off about every 9 out of 10 hits and that is even if they even let you get close to make a hit on them. Offline hitting is fine. Online its trash. Need proof pay attention yourself after games at the CR rating.
  • Just finished an LG game with a total of 57 hits. I think hitting is working just fine. Those weak back bumps are still ruining the game
  • It still feels fine to me. I think the perceived hitting change is just people not used to the skating changes so they aren't lining up the hit angle correctly.
  • I, personally did not have an issue with hitting or witness anything that would pertain to hitting being an issue. Positioning reaction in regards to the puck carrier being weened off of the puck by a defender needs to be tweaked a bit. Especially along the boards.

I put CPU (Offline because I've only played two games of EASHL since the patch and about 15 offline games so I didnt want to make a concrete statement but after playing a game last night 6v6 hitting felt fine. The only times I notice a bubble is when I try to use the hit stick but the assist pulls me around back behind the defender because hes already passed me. I had an issue with this in the beta as well so I cant blame this on the patch.

Dunno what CR has to do with it.
