And just like that...the optimism faded

  • This proves they don’t play there game, why does the left D come over to the right while having some kind of attack? Who can I cycle the puck to?

  • LOL!

Fun fact: Eddie Belfour gave up 713 goals like this in his career.

I probably could have played a little better but I mean come on.

    Is this from NHL 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, or 19? Graphics tell me it could be 15, 16, 17, 18, or 19. Gets confusing. /s
  • I had to move to a new city and didn't even have my xbox set up for several weeks. I left in 1.00 and came back in 1.02, now I'm in 1.03. This game is completely different, and the most obvious part of that is the stick lift. It bloody sucks. It's a straight up penalty button.

And Defense is a joke. AI won't do anything so I have to manual everything, and both stick lifts and pokes are awful. It's - once again - impossible to play defense. Not to mention you virtually MUST let AI handle all pass interceptions, because they're 100x better at it than going manual.

Go back to the beta tuner. Please. The game has been ruined.

Gameplay isn't ruined. I mean, I could be wrong, but it really seems like the beta was just a doorway while the plan all along was to tune into as much as possible into 18.

Some of you may find this insulting, for which I apologize, but it doesn't change the fact I completely feel like I got screwed into buying 18.2

I want my money back, but of course, can't. Thanks EA. I appreciate it alot. I mean, not everyone has the skill to release a game and ruin it with patches instead of fixing it.
  • Just go back to the beta. Start fresh. Fix poke checking penalties. Tired of this game feeling like 18 again. Also tired of spending 3/4 of every game on the PP or PK. Often 5 on 3. Can't even use my stick anymore so I became a PWF. Which just makes me feel even slower.

Game blows now. Go back to Beta.

This is gold, where's that kid who told me to post this video or it didn't happen? Lol
  • So last night I went back to screwing with camera angles and decided to play D. After auditioning Low,High, and fixed I settled on High. Decent feelin of speed and the angle worked a little better than the others relatively speaking. Have to admit that my skill stick pokes were much easier to land. Additionally, I actually pulled off a few stick lifts without penalty..then I got a couple..but hey..progress!
Now granted these camera angles are a bit gimped in the vision department when it comes to passing however if you’ve played hockey and are fortunate enough to play with others who have it works out. Mostly...that said. My 1v1, 2v1 and 3v2 play was pretty strong. Also, despite being a bit disorienting with those crazy camer pans it was a blast.
All Comments pertain to 6v6 drop in unless otherwise stated..

You can deactivate dynamic camera or whatever it's called. Removes that disorienting feeling.

That being said, I use overhead camera, but would like it if it zoomed out a little more than it currently is.
  • My freind brought up a good point, the tuners that were added may have been geared towards making people more likely to spend more money on HUT for higher overall skaters and shooters. Much easier to rag pucks and score cheese goals with a team full of legends and other high ovr cards.

Maybe it's poor recollection but I thought the overhead used to be zoomed out a bit further and at a higher angle. Does it seem to have a tilt that it didn't used to have in previous games?

This makes sense to me. Coming in here, saying that they feel they the game is much better due to their tuning and pretending all of these people don't want the beta back doesn't to me.

It's extremely logical to turn it back into 18 to get more revenue. They're not getting more revenue from us people who already paid 100 bucks from the game.

The way the game was tuned before it was just hockey, and fun I might add.

For them to make drastic changes to release tuner like this there has to be something that they aren't saying. And the most logical thing is sales in HUT were down. People were already having fun and didn't feel they needed to buy a lot of packs to be competitive (I'm one of them).

Nothing makes sense to why they would change a hyped game like NHL 19 this much, there is a reason we aren't hearing. They know most players are upset with the changes, unless they aren't reading anything on this forum, twitter, youtube, reddit etc..

I don't understand, it just seems like a waste of time to even post anything here since they don't listen anyway. The game feels like EA Sports "Cheese it" It's in the game. (

Yea, the camera is what I would guess to be about 20 feet in the air and maybe 15 feet behind your player. It is on angle as you say and now it covers about only 1 zone. When in your own zone, you can't realy see up to the red line.

Old gen was higher up and practically straight down, no angle. Easily covered 2 zones.

That would be an excellent point as far as HUT is concerned, but doesn't make all that much sense for EASHL. They are very similar, sure, but there are differences.

Do they really care about EASHL at this point though? I'm not sure I follow.

Was talking about tuning. Far as I know HUT is tuned a little differently.

The online aspects are on the All Star sliders in both. Tuning is the same. The difference lies in HUT cards having different attributes (or any real player in the game versus the EASHL builds). And also factor In P2P for HUT/VS whereas EASHL is on servers.

Do you happen to have more footage from this game to see how that defender got into that state? Or if you are suggesting it happens often, I would be curious to know what strategies you use so that we can reproduce it.

    Thanks.

If you played 1.0 tuner and 1.03 you would realize that they both feel like different games.

1.0 Feels Fast, smooth and like a whole new NHL game.

1.03 Has a lot of sluggishness in the skating and feels exactly like NHL 18 with new skating.'

Anyone who disputes this is obviously lying, it doesn't even feel like the same game lmao.

The changes we made to skating were during the Beta and are in the 1.0 tuner. We haven't tuned skating since then in any of the tuners. If you are currently rolling back to 1.0 with the current game, it means you are playing with all of the patches applied still and therefore the only differences are the tuner changes.

When you play offline, what Game Preset are you on and what is game style set to?
