I see @NHLDev commenting in other threads about trivial gameplay issues. Any chance he can comment or provide an update on this game breaking issue?
I think the customers who bought the game and can’t even play online deserve some attention in this forum too.
Our online producer follows these threads. I read them but I don’t have answers for you. I usually drop by our online team after I see questions on the forum in their area and just ensure they are getting the latest info from here and they are always on top of it. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have improvements though.
Can you be more specific because this seems like a pretty common user flow that would have likely been raised earlier. Has been happening the entire time since the game launched or was it introduced in one of our more recent patches? Does it happen in drop in 3v3 and 6v6? What about other modes like Ones, Threes, clubs? What about other modes outside of World of Chel like HUT or Versus?
I received 13 DRE's in dropin 6's and 3's out of 20 tries on Saturday late evening. I receive constant searching lockups and always have. From the looks of social media there were lots and lots of players having the issue. Like I said, I've just about always had the search freeze loop.

For me it's been happening since launch but I feel more frequently lately. Basically you search, and then you find out it's not actually searching for a game but you're just kinda stuck there frozen. You try to back out, you can't because it is frozen. You have to close the app and reenter into the game.

I think it's important not to mix issues up. This specific issue started after the last patch. Basically anytime you do a drop-in search there's a high chance that it just seems to lock up and fail and when you try to back out you can't do anything besides close the app. I never saw this problem in beta and didn't see it in first couple of patches. This is different than the dre issues, which is the biggest issue this game has. But to this one is bad too. These two problems have ruined NHL 19 for most online players
I play drop in 3vs3 on Xbox and it happen every time. I have to restart the game. Most of the Time it’s so long to find a game that i just quit and go play rdr2 . For nhl 20 you should give a 50% discont for the fools that have bought nhl19! Haha!

It has happened rarely since launch but more frequently the last month. Pressing B (Xbox) to back out causes it to "freeze" or take more than 5 minutes to back out. I think the longest I waited before resetting was like 10-15 minutes at one point.

I started a thread here that was moved to the NHL 19 Tech Help tab. @EA_Roger asked me to provide details on the issue, which l did, but then the communication stopped in its tracks.
Please feel free to reference the other thread called, Cancel Search Freeze. To summarize, the issue started for me in early October. I did not have any issues from launch until then. It appears to affect 3s and 6s drop in. It never happens when searching for a Ones game.
My frustration is escalating because it has seemingly been getting worse. Today, for example, l was not able to play a single game because every game would result in an infinite search. Then when l attempt to cancel the search, “cancelling search” spins indefinitely. The only way out is to either restart the app or disconnect my internet connection to reset my connection with the EA servers.
This needs to be addressed already. Usually have to hit PS button > Options > Close Application and restart the game 20 times just to play 2 or 3 drop in games
