I believe that in be a pro they should add features like being able to go to a team practice or even going out with teammates like they did in nhl 14 live the life, and even speaking with the press in between periods or after the game, or even have the option to skate around during warmups, and being able to get free stuff from companies such as Bauer or CCM. Just something a little extra for the people like me that don’t play HUT or Franchise mode.
I think that NHL 20 should include the World Juniors as well as all IIHF jerseys. Also custom goalie helmets and writing jerseys out instead of just logos for EASHL and custom teams

You start your Franchise mode and you pick your team. Each team is different whether it be a Championship caliber team or contender, hopefull, on the cusp, Rebuilding team. Depending on the team you’ve chosen and that information your goals are going to be different so shouldn’t your goals be different and be contract based and yearly (Ex. You’re the Toronto Maple Leafs. Yearly goals with them being a contending team would be:
•Win division
•Finish top 6 in conference
•Make playoffs
•Make round 2 of playoffs
Your contract Goal would be:
•Make round 3 of playoffs
•Win president trophy
•Win Stanley Cup
Adding this would be a great way to also track your team performance year to year:
TOR 2017/18 44-26-12 RD1
TOR 2018/19 45-27-10 RD3
TOR 2019/20 51-21-10 won Cup
This would also help add to your GM rep as you reach goals and milestones in your career.)
You could have the GM rep be graded from F to +A
When you win the cup there is nothing said about it from your owner, or anything they need to add something to that to spice it up.
Hiring/Firing Staff is a major part of a GMs job in determining the outlook and structure of a Franchise. Positions that you should be able to hire and fire are:
•Coaches
•Scouts
•Farm team director (AHL, ECHL)
Coaching staff should give boosts to certain stats on players based on systems that coach deploys. Also if the coach is hard on players this could affect stats, we all know there are players coaches out there. So if a coach is known for his defensive style of play then players defensive stats should get a boost. Also a coach could take away stats from players, hurts shooting or off awareness. Head coach could be overall systems and assistants could be how well they support that message. So having a offensive style head coach and two defensive minded assistants would be a bad mix because they don’t support the message of the head coach.
Farm team director can be rated on how well they mold players from junior into professional players and what kind of player they will be in the NHL.
Players should have quirks that factor into the type of player they are. Like:
•Alex Ovechkin
- Franchise player (adds to all stats)
- Lethal shooter (scores goals)
- Physical (doesn’t mind throwing the body around)
•Sidney Crosby
- Franchise player
- Elite playmaker (assist machine)
- Clutch (puts team on his back)
Player morale should cover:
•Desired location to play (close to home, Original six team, Cali team, east/west conf)
•Salary (if it matches his performance and desired amount)
•Team performance (team record, place in standings, winning division, playoff round, Cup, president trophy)
•Individual performance (points, plus minus, making it to the all star game, injuries)
•Coaching staff grade (the better the coaching staff is rated the more morale your players will have)
•Role on team (1st liner to 4th, Top D to 7th, ice time)
Players should also make demands to be traded or have drama happen like in real life.
In an NHL season story lines develop over the course so why not have stories that develop in franchise mode (ex. Have insiders comment on players rise to the elite, teams shocking the world (Vegas), prospects climbing the draft rankings). Add character and depth to the game mode and realism.
Events during the NHL season need to be updated or added:
•Season opener
•Trade deadline
•Allstar game
•Draft
•July 1st free agent frenzy
•Playoffs
•Stanley Cup Series
•Prospects game

I am a sucker on Be-a-PRO mode and its the gamemode i play for 98% of my time.
The thing that ive been wishing for a long time and what should be fairly easy to do is to expand where you can start your carrer.
Me for exempel would like to start my carrer in the swedish SHL leauge and try to make it to the NHL. This is probably the most common Journey for atleast out swedish NHL Players so i dont really understad why this isnt possible.
- If you have a human goalie, let him control the extra attacker that comes off the bench on a delayed penalty
- Let players join into games after they've already started and let players re-join games if they disconnect.
- Let players change their positions during the game.
- As someone mentioned above, allow AI to be customized to some degree.
- And most importantly of all, let us search for games using a match size range instead of "exact". Can't count the amount of time we've wasted matching up with 2 and 3 man teams when we'd be content with playing against at least 4. 5 or 6 would be ideal, but 4 would be okay. Unfortunately, you can only match exact size, so if you're playing with 6 and there's no other 6's team online, you're screwed.
Winter Classic, New pre game animation - animation when players go on the ice (like it was in NHL 09), more animations at all (animated transfers, draft, players awarding) and story mode, AND KHL!!!!! PLEASE, EA!!!!!

I think taking away color should only be done in Broadcast mode as I've made this point earlier, players didn't see black and white unless they were colorblind. Maybe make black and white an option. It would be great to play throughout the history of the NHL like show the challenges of being a player in the Original Six Era where you get buried in the minors behind strong talent. Or play in the Broad Street Bully era or the Orr/Espo Era. So basically any era in NHL history I've been active in this forum is saying what I would like, because man NHL is getting boring with Be a Pro, GM mode, and just Play Now mode. I want to play in a time when players didn't wear helmets, they fought, they used wooden sticks, and the goalies looked like a goalie not a michelin man.

Well, I wouldn't mind the color being an on/off switch and not just unique to the gamemode(maybe even CRT and SD, of course they will only be made to look like junk to give the gamer the feeling of watching hockey in any era), and I don't mind the immersion (or lack thereof), what I miss is the lack of artistic vision. So many game modes come in and all of them feel so dull, but recently because of the "Threes" and "World of CHEL" game modes this made the last two tie-ins more bearable. It was the random arcade-like moments that made me go 2K Sports every year, it was the stick-controls that brought me back to EA Sports (Stick controls felt so much more natural than one buttons, I'd still get 2K Sports games from time-to-time but the naturalness in EA's control schemes are much better...then I no longer have any option for another hockey game... rip NHL 2k series). I like the direction the last two installments went by bringing back more arcade hockey, but like everyone on here: I think there should be more focus on touching-up or revamping old game modes and do not 'cookie-cut' them in.
Another thing I would really like to see is in EASHL Clubs; the option to play alone. I'd like to play and often my team mates aren't available to progress the club... it could be something simple like practice drills that unlock unique stadium/logo assets, or maybe an 1v1 shootout option (perhaps even to allow the GM to favorite players giving them the permission to play in these shootouts). Also a 6+ mode, where you have to change lines with the bench player(s), as the other problem we kept running into was having more players online then allowed in a game. Or maybe a way to split the team so that 4 people can play one game while the other 3 play the other game.
To be able to edit goalie helmets like you can pads..and gloves. Sick of the same 3 helmets.
To be able to update rosters and be able to have updated roster in a franchise mode that you already started.
Get waivers for ahl players in the summer. Same thing for rookies.
Get these things done so every player under contract with a team is in the game from day one.
I liked how they used to carry over injuries ie black eyes. From game to game. Also the bad blood for a player who injured another player.
I wish NHL 20 would finally have real life coaches. A big part of franchise mode is being able to fire your head coach. I would like to see EA Sports add this to NHL 20. I would like to be able to hire a head coach and assistant coaches for both my NHL and AHL team with the ability to fire my NHL coach and call up my AHL coach. I would also like to see player who retire and go into coaching. That way I can hire former players as my head coach or as an assistant.
Would like to see the ,, last 5 game ,, statistic in each player profile in Franchise mode. Would help to see if a player is on a hot or cold streak. It would help a lot when intressted for a Trade. A part to bring more life in this game mode. Name the statistics by Team not added together by NHL or AHL statistics. In past you had like this. I do not understand why you removed that !!!! Why not to opnen past games in calender for review stats ? Should be able for all Teams if I want to watch this, not only mine.
