1 - Ability to play a true 3v3 All Star Tournament (or any). It's been in the NHL for years now and no where to be found in this game. The "3's" is too arcade and very limited.
    2 - Roster sharing.
3 - Ability to play as a specific player in any game.
4 - AI improvement (for details see every community post from the past 5 years).
5 - Box scores of other games (Maybe an ESPN type ticker at the bottom).
  • Persistent lobbies for EASHL drop-in games please
  • More online coop options please. Franchise / seasons in coop with an online friend, some competitive seasons in HUT, etc thanks

Hoping for the Digital 6 Jerseys to return in NHL 20. the designs were awesome. Any Possibilities EA? @NHLDev
  • I know this will probably only cater to me, but I'd like to be able to "Add Friend" to various modes (at least Play Now).

This only started because I convinced my friends to give NHL19 a try when it went on GOLD this month. They didn't want to jump into multiplayer, so we found a coop mode. Currently Online Versus (and Threes) is the only mode that allows you to directly play with a friend. We had to be on opposite teams, I scored 3 times in the 1st and they gave up on hockey.

If there was a way to play on the same team against the computer, they might give it another attempt in the future. I think "Add Friend" to your game could be incorporated into multiple offline modes including Play Now, Playoff Mode, and others. It would just be for the games the friend is invited to, so the saved file remains with the creator of the mode.

I've got several friends who would buy NHL and Madden every year if we could coop franchise vs ai.

I loved the scout Hire and fire thing but think they should copy NBA 2k and have a CFO, Assistant GM Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Other Coaches if required, Head Scout & Trainer and maybe a team Doctor as the staff you can hire.

I also think in Franchise mode they have to go to a more open-sourced model and allow for full customization like team jersey can be downloaded, players and rosters can be uploaded and a bunch of other customizable stuff (roster changes enabled in the game) Basically copy MyLeague cause Franchise is crap compared to that mode.

Although I am in the minority I think the gameplay in the NHL Series is as good as it's going to get. So making a Journey mode maybe incorporating into your EASHL world of chel character could be cool. Enhancing the gameplay with more of a Narrative.

I also think you should change Franchise Mode to Career Mode and allow for different Player types like Owner, Gm & Player and depending on what player type you have it is a different starting spot for the story mode.

Or I might have to write to 2k Sports and start a Kickstarter for NHL 2k to get a revival cause NHL is kind of cuh right now and stagnant.

I agree NHL EA really needs to improve the career mode experience. Even mimicking the Superstar mode like madden had would be a lot better than most Be a Pro's most years except maybe NHL 14 that one was pretty litty.

    This was requested years ago:

    GM mode

1)When a player retires there should be a prompt asking if you want to retire the players jersey. If you choose too, a simple cut scene with (dev decision) scalabiliy regarding whether the number changes on the rafter banner and /or a continuation of other GM mode and real historical jersey's being retired (Example Naslund is retired, you could have Peterson retired after he is much older in a GM mode campaign. What this would do is create a larger sense of realism with the CPU generated characters.

    2) I would like to see a 35-50 year gm mode career.

    3) Why do you not have an American college licence deal for the wonky draft in GM mode.

4)It would be cool to have the old style sport game (NES) cut scene from the award scenario with a list that scrolls down with all the players who won the award. The image could even be static in the back ground.

    5) The ability to create and edit more characters to be inserted either at the beginning before creating a GM mode campaign. Ultimately the last few post could be condensed in the real goal which is roster accuracy.

    6) I would hope you have spy's looking at the CPU game I own (Franchise Hockey Manager 3/4 Out of the park dev) which is purely roster and stat based. If EA was to incorporate some of the finer stat and RPG elements with things such as hiring coaches, hiring GMs, they have stats, more latent/hidden stats. Roles for each line (garbage collector, agitator, tough guy, playmaker, shooter, net front coverage etc etc).

I would think that this game would evolve past the roster update (which stops abruptly disenfranchising people who spent $70, to an in depth, graphic, playable Hockey sim, extravaganza.

Yup. They need to stop around with that.

  • I Strongly think EA needs to change its business model for sports and literally make one game for Online Modes (Hut) basically and one for Career Mode fans because they are two distinct fans. Who are at odds with one another and I think it is bringing the EA NHL series down because the developers are constantly at odds with both groups.

With that being said I do think EA, in general, is facing a PR crisis because of lack of Fan Service in games and that has to change because Like I mentioned in my comment even a rubbish NHL 2k is 1000x better than any NHL game would ever be and that is a problem. Simply put. Stop being idiots and actually listen to fans you are in the entertainment business. Pleasing the crowd/fans is what your job is. So start doing because idk what else we the fans can do other than email the developers and plead/lobby for the modes we want.
  • I would like franchise mode like the 2k series where you can play say season started and a team is 7-0 and you want to play that season start that you can if you want to choose to play that or beginning of season.
  • - Get rid of the RNG rewards. They're dumb in ALL games. Bring back the system where you knew what you were getting & what you had to do to unlock whatever it was that you want.

    - OTP lobbies. Bring them back. It was fun back in the day to go into certain lobbies & know that certain players were always playing & you could easily meet up with them. Was also good for LG games with a password.

    - Goalie customization. Would be nice if goalies could make their own style helmets especially if you don't have your teams helmet unlocked yet. At least maybe you could color it to your teams colors with a couple basic design choices at the very least.

    - Player builds. My gosh, bring back full control of player builds with the boosts like '12 had. Just remove the dang grind to get to legend 3. There is literally zero reason that we shouldn't be able to have full control over this. Why, because some people aren't smart enough to make their own build? Ok, well put the pre built ones in there too as an option but give us the ability to make our builds the way we want them from top to bottom.

    - Hits into the benches & through the glass. Bring it back.

    - Incidental bumps. Umm, need I say more?

    - Pokes = penalties. Fix it. There is zero reason that 9/10 pokes should be a penalty. Why, because some people can't score? Maybe it was because some people are too dumb to have a team sense of hockey & make plays.

    - Goalie animations. These are broken as hell. Especially when a puck sits there at your feet & your goalie won't cover it no matter what you do only for it to be poked in because the game won't let you cover what you can see but the computer part of your player is too dumb to find it. Other goalie animations as well, the list is too long here to list everything.

    - Practice mode for club. Enough said.

    - Puck pickups. Enough said here too.

    - Catering to the whiners. Stop making the game based all on offense. Defense is a freaking joke this year because people are whining about not being able to score.

    - 1's mode. Stupid. Literally everyone does the same shot that the goalie can't stop. Just remove the mode.

    - Home ice in custom lobbies, LG games & so on. If you use a custom logo you can put your logo on the ice but not if you use a real team. Why?

    - Ability to change your build mid game. It'd be like substituting a player. If my #1 build isn't working against a certain team, let me switch it mid game.

    - Broken sticks. They were removed why? It added a fun element to the game as much as it sucks to break one.

    - Goalie pulls. Let the computer player be a human. You guys had it in the beta for '17 then took it away because you had issue with something. It's been 3 years & you can't figure out the issue?

    - Ping. You guys made it so everyones pings got doubled. What the hell was the reason behind that? So I go from a 45 ping playing on a West host to 90 & they go from a 15 to 30. Makes ZERO sense.

    - Passes that are used as shots. The goalie doesn't react to them at all. Really it's a glitch goal if you look at it. Fix it.

    - College teams. Would be nice to see them added in. I get that the NCAA would most likely need to give permission for this.

    - Menus. Why do I have to back out 15 times to get to where I want to be? The UI needs an overhaul back to the past where you got right in & out of where you were with just 1-2 clicks.

    - Bring the fun back to the game & make NHL a good game. If you can't do it then give up the game to a studio who can actually make a good working game. It's shameful that the game gets worse every year & we are all stuck with this pile of crap because no one else is making a hockey game. As it stands now, the base game isn't worth 1/2 the money that you charge for it. I know that I'm being harsh with this but I honestly feel it's deserved, the game literally has been getting worse every year. At this point with what I've seen, I have zero plans to buy '20. I'm tired of buying the same broken game that only gets worse each year & adds stupid gimmick crap like mouth pieces, hit, goal, save emotes & so on. The gameplay seriously needs fixing from the ground up.

This. I wish they would separate the forums between online and offline. So many times offline players try to report problems and the main response from people is slow connection to the server or whatever. I'm playing offline, it has nothing to do with that!
  • hat would be nice is if during play you could tap a button to double shift a player . Have in edit lines a 3 player option for double shifting. This would bring some realism to the game as in real life. If the player is already on the ice, the next player is the one to double shift. Small addition that could bring some fun dynamic when trying to get a tying goal or a d man that is trying to prevent in the closing minutes.

I agree with absolutely everything except changing your build mid-game.

While 2K brought presentation it couldn't win the gameplay battle which mattered the most. You are funny to even suggest them split online and offline. The modes that make them money would get the attention. Every mode but HUT is considered add-on content.

EASHL (which is a huge part of the community) is a perfect example of this. We (the 6's people) get dumped on when it comes time to play. I can't count how many times I'm in a league game & get pooped on due to a bad goalie animation or something that is just plain dumb, like getting stuck on the post or the slowest of shots go right by me. It's rather shameful actually...
