Depending on which camera you use the scoreboard is not something you can get used to, it's a literal obstruction.
  • nhl 19 gives us option to make it small but its still not high enough or in the corner of the screen enough. this score board is 2x as long as the current one. if we could make this small and have the top/bottom option then I think we will be ok. a skinny strip across the top shouldn't matter. it still prob better of the current one that is always is the way. just seriously give us option to display real time on it. I hate this fast countdown time for the "realistic" look. a 5 min period should display 5 min and count down regularly. I want to know how much time is left not have to guess.

How would you deal with penalties?
If you fight you miss an entire period?

Could be a ratio. 5 minutes of a 20 minute period is 1/4th the time. A 2 minute penalty is 1/10th of a 20 minute period so in a 5minute clock it would be something like 30 seconds. Which is 1/4th of 5minutes. So the math works out. a 5 minute major would be 75 seconds or 1:15. Which is 1/4th of 5 minutes.

Where it get's weird is the fact that a 2 minute minor has 2 different timings. When the PP is in the O-Zone its half time. So if you spent the whole 2 minutes in the zone it would be one real world minute. Once the D clears the puck the clock speeds up.

If they got rid of that they could change the period time to actual 5 minutes.

As it stands now the 20:00 accelerated clock is much much easier

Big fan of the accelerated clock when cleared. Gives D reason to ice it instead of trying to rag.

When playing defense on classic cam I hate it. I'm pretty sure its forwards who don't mind it, I don't mind it at fwd... as much.

You can't see where the opposing rushing forwards have gone while the defense is holding the puck for breakout because the icons are hidden behind the scoreboard.

Once you pass the puck to a forward on breakout you no longer have any idea where YOU are until you wander pass the scoreboard into the offensive zone.

When playing as fwd I like to pass to wide open defenders on offense (yeah, I'm the one) but I have no idea where they will be until they get past the scoreboard so I can neither work to get the passing lane open nor have any idea when I will actually see the defender arrive so I can dish the puck.

You can't see where the puck is along the boards in your zone.

At the very least the scoreboard needs to not obstruct off screen player icons or where the puck is located along the boards in your own zone. If I decide to play this year the scoreboard will be off with these current options.

Exactly. Fantastic point and ironically you are the only one who mentions how this prevents you from passing to defenders. You are a rare breed in dropins lol. As a full time D man, I appreciate it
  • I gotta say - the scoreboard is the least of my worries with this game.
