Maybe it helps with desync and dressing room errors.
😉
I just assumed they know most people skip that part, and if they don't force people to watch it, no one will get to notice and appreciate all the work they put into those super slow mo replays.
Super annoying, and just makes a loss even more so, when you're forced to watch the over powered rebound or weak muffin shot trickle past the goalie, or the 5 hole that the goalie just opens up in time for a goal, in slow motion to boot.
It's annoying. Just another thing to add to the EA bloat. I just don't understand how a group of devs can sit in a meeting and come up with the idea that bloated, laggy menus, as well as bloated unskippable replays is what people want.

Forced to watch replays... sounds about right for this development team. As if the intermissions were not long enough. Funny thing is we already went through this with all the timeouts teams had in EASHL. So they fixed that and added something else to waste people's time in its place. Its like they are determined to make games last 30min.
Agreed. Also love having to watch the camera pan across the bizarre helicopter sitting on the mountain.
Let's force everyone to watch clips during play breaks. But we're only going to make video. And it's going to be a helicopter. Great idea Carl. Fans will love it.

30 min? There is an additional 20 min worth of real time penalty minutes to lag it down
I just discovered that, if you press pause immediately after the end of a period and at the end of the game then press pause again you skip all the scenes/highlights/etc
The pause thing doesn't work for online play ... This is seriously the most aggrivating part of online play. Well that and when u hit a guy the puck goes back to him or a teammate

How many pauses do you get per game? If it's only one, you pretty much have to save that pause for the end of the game and not utilize it for something like calling a timeout.
Again, EA continues the cycle by trying to fix something which isn't broken.

End of the game (online) yes. During the game (online), you have to wait until about 80% or so of the end period replay to finish before you can skip it.

I just played an offline season game and skipped right over the replays after the game.
