Game speed

Prev1
Am I the only one experiencing game speed issue in HUT online games?

Most of the games my players are way slower than those of my opponents even if I play an 80 overall team. I just can't create separation. The other day I had Bryan Berard (98 skating) coming off a penalty sitting at my opponent’s blue line, I gave him the puck for a breakaway, the closest player to catch him was at the red line, he caught me up and Berard didn’t have the time to shoot on goal. Most games look like a shooting practice for the other team but still I manage to win about half the games or keep most of them close. I just feel when you play online, players should have an equal chance to win.

I have contacted EA support many times about the issue. We traced my connection and everything is fine so they say it must be a game bug and they will report it to developers.

  • Some will say it’s rigged, some will say it’s other things! My connection is always good too, but I made a low overall team, highest player is 88 Malkin Duo, doesn’t seem to have that problem now

Yes, I’ve done the same but that defeats the purpose of acquiring best players to make Hockey Ultimate Team. I mean it’s in the name 😂

    I bleed hockey!!!!!!!!!!

I know right? But I have 2 teams, one I use to play against SB and one for online match! I’m still grinding to get high overall player😁
  • I think it's rigged too. But why am I always the slower team? Could be something with my gamer tag. The tech guy from EA support kept telling me yesterday to use another gamer tag. The things is, I don't want to start my team from scratch at this point. I think I'll just keep playing squad battle even if that's rigged too. When the CPU wants you too loose a game in SB there's nothing you can do about it.

It's a connection based system... some games are good some are bad, depends on time of day aswell...lots of people online equals crap connection.... you never know what you'll get when u play this game... but it's just a game so have fun if not shut it off and go outside and buy a homeless guy a sandwich
  • Always pause before it starts when online check the connection over 25ms back out

    I second that What ???
  • It's not just a game by the way. It's a multimillion dollar business for EA sports. HUT is all about making people spend a lot of money to build their team, so if the game is rigged or if you have a better chance to win with a lower overall team, what's the point of grinding for players or spend money on packs. Very good business model EA.

All EA Sports games...scratch that...all EA games are designed to extract as much money as possible from its consumers. They are destroying gaming all together. Used to be, you got better at a game and it got easier to play. But when you spend the time to learn the game and then you spend game currency or in some cases real money, and the game gets harder to play even though every variable is the same except for your players having a higher overall rating; it just seems like what's the point. And when you make what feels like thousands of in-game purchases just to have it make zero impact or negative impact on the overall gameplay; that also seems like what's the point. I just dont understand how a 79 overall team can go into squad battles and beat 80 overall team 11 - 2 but you take a 90 overall team and play that same 80 overall team on the same difficulty and lose 2 - 4. It makes no sense and is incredibly frustrating.

Games are not rigged to make a lower-rated team beat a higher rated team. If this were the case, you'd see the leaderboards full of teams with base gold items or less.

If you can get some video of the issues you're seeing, that would greatly help. It's certainly possible for a lower-rated team to beat a higher rated team, but this comes down to a difference in player skill. No matter how much you spend, it's not going to just give you wins. Your skill is the key factor in the outcome of games.

There is definitely a pay to play advantage in this game. If there wasn’t, there wouldn’t be any need for an ea store to buy points and packs and 800 million dollars in micro transactions would not exist.

You can also get the same items for free through Squad Battles, HUT Champions, Rivals, completing sets, and doing challenges. There are more rewards than ever this year.

It is, of course, possible to speed up the process if you want to purchase packs, but FTP players are capable of building very competitive teams.

Ever year there are sets and hc to earn rewards that’s nothing new. This year instead of different weekly champion events they were replaced with rivals. If someone can buy the game for Christmas and have a better team then a ftp player who’s been grinding since September, there’s a definite advantage to pay to play.

You raise your chances at getting more items when you buy points. This doesn't guarantee that you're going to get a better team than someone that doesn't spend anything. There are many options for FTP players to build a competitive team.

In the end, it's more about your individual skill. Just having a stacked team doesn't guarantee wins. We frequently see complaints that higher rated players aren't performing as well as lower rated players. How you play matters more than the overalls of the players you're using.

Of course skill of the player is important no one says it isn’t. Being able to buy a team is an advantage in that they didn’t have to grind out game after game to achieve the same or better player cards. I get it’s ea’s way of making money but by not acknowledging it’s an advantage is dishonest. Why not make two separate game modes, one that’s for ftp players and one for ptp players. At least then you know what kind of opponent your facing: one who’s grinded out the game or one who used a credit card for an easy advantage.

It's called Ultimate Team. The point is to build the best team possible. You can do that through purchasing points that are used on packs or you can use the high number of free packs you're given. You can also grind out coins or work the market and buy the players you want.

I understand you just want to play other FTP guys, but how do you know they didn't get an amazing pull out of a pack and sell it for a high amount of coins that got them a lot of high rated players? You're still potentially facing people with the same teams as someone that bought points.

Nothing wrong with getting a great card from a free pack and selling it for a ton of money in the auction house and using it to buy better cards. That’s the point of grinding out challenges and sb and rivals. FTP players can have great teams at least you know they worked for it not just bought it.

Whether a team is worked for or bought, you still have to have skill to be successful.
