Game speed
Am I the only one experiencing game speed issue in HUT online games?
Most of the games my players are way slower than those of my opponents even if I play an 80 overall team. I just can't create separation. The other day I had Bryan Berard (98 skating) coming off a penalty sitting at my opponent’s blue line, I gave him the puck for a breakaway, the closest player to catch him was at the red line, he caught me up and Berard didn’t have the time to shoot on goal. Most games look like a shooting practice for the other team but still I manage to win about half the games or keep most of them close. I just feel when you play online, players should have an equal chance to win.
I have contacted EA support many times about the issue. We traced my connection and everything is fine so they say it must be a game bug and they will report it to developers.

Yes, I’ve done the same but that defeats the purpose of acquiring best players to make Hockey Ultimate Team. I mean it’s in the name 😂
I know right? But I have 2 teams, one I use to play against SB and one for online match! I’m still grinding to get high overall player😁
I second that What ???
All EA Sports games...scratch that...all EA games are designed to extract as much money as possible from its consumers. They are destroying gaming all together. Used to be, you got better at a game and it got easier to play. But when you spend the time to learn the game and then you spend game currency or in some cases real money, and the game gets harder to play even though every variable is the same except for your players having a higher overall rating; it just seems like what's the point. And when you make what feels like thousands of in-game purchases just to have it make zero impact or negative impact on the overall gameplay; that also seems like what's the point. I just dont understand how a 79 overall team can go into squad battles and beat 80 overall team 11 - 2 but you take a 90 overall team and play that same 80 overall team on the same difficulty and lose 2 - 4. It makes no sense and is incredibly frustrating.
Games are not rigged to make a lower-rated team beat a higher rated team. If this were the case, you'd see the leaderboards full of teams with base gold items or less.
If you can get some video of the issues you're seeing, that would greatly help. It's certainly possible for a lower-rated team to beat a higher rated team, but this comes down to a difference in player skill. No matter how much you spend, it's not going to just give you wins. Your skill is the key factor in the outcome of games.
You can also get the same items for free through Squad Battles, HUT Champions, Rivals, completing sets, and doing challenges. There are more rewards than ever this year.
It is, of course, possible to speed up the process if you want to purchase packs, but FTP players are capable of building very competitive teams.
You raise your chances at getting more items when you buy points. This doesn't guarantee that you're going to get a better team than someone that doesn't spend anything. There are many options for FTP players to build a competitive team.
In the end, it's more about your individual skill. Just having a stacked team doesn't guarantee wins. We frequently see complaints that higher rated players aren't performing as well as lower rated players. How you play matters more than the overalls of the players you're using.
It's called Ultimate Team. The point is to build the best team possible. You can do that through purchasing points that are used on packs or you can use the high number of free packs you're given. You can also grind out coins or work the market and buy the players you want.
I understand you just want to play other FTP guys, but how do you know they didn't get an amazing pull out of a pack and sell it for a high amount of coins that got them a lot of high rated players? You're still potentially facing people with the same teams as someone that bought points.
Whether a team is worked for or bought, you still have to have skill to be successful.
