NHL 20 - Worst HUT gameplay of all time!

Did the guys programming NHL put any effort into realistic play?? Guys go offside on there own, cant go hard to the net (auto penalties), AI decides to go for a line change at the most ridiculous times of the game play. Got to love when you just taken a faceoff and your about to break out, but your winger decides it been 2 seconds of play, lets go for a line change.... Fun passing the puck to the guy as he decide not to catch the puck and go off for a water break... AND MY FAVORITE... YOU RUINED PASSING, crisp passing is no longer available.... Game sucks!

But of all things... Please, does anyone know when any period is coming to an end???? The bottom of the screen scoreboard.... WOW, what a AWESOME idea, when the game consistently plays up the screen... EYES are looking up for the most part through out the game. Shouldn't it then remain at the top of the screen while? or at least be a preference by the person playing on where it should be.

Horrible and unrealistic play.... More so very unfair game no matter what your teams rating is, you should still be able to win games when you dominate time of attach, shots on goal and minimize shot allowed... But it doesn't work that way here.... EA, dictates who's going to win no matter what.

Fantastic job, so so GOOD that everyone at development should take next year off. Austin Matthews must be scratching his head having is face plastered all over this lack of effort to improve game play... instead it worse than last year. Hopefully Matthews being paid to laugh it off.....

I agree with most minus the time on attack part. I've played against people who would just cycle cycle cycle looking for the one timer and never getting a shot off because that's the only way they can score. Their time on attack would generally be higher than mine. But it is definitely frustrating when you are dominating all aspects of the game only to lost because they cross blue line and lobbed a weak shot from the point simply because they aimed at a corner it goes in regardless of the power of the shot.

Stop playing HUT. I stopped when I realized how little I get out of it and how much it upset me. I started playing offline modes and never spent money in HUT ever again. Best decision ever.

Spot on, its a big joke. Line changes, clock ending periode, team with ovr 82 is overskating team with ovr 96 👉🙄

I can only agree with the previous speaker, the game is a disaster. such a game without meaning and without ice hockey genes. there are too many things that do not fit, here are some, but I am not talking about all of them. But give me a reason why I should buy the high level players if there is no difference to silver or basic gold players. I've been playing squad battles for over 10 weeks, all the packs I've won, it was just junk, over 100 games, with great frustration with the gameplay, and the best player was a basic gold with 85 rating, i Play to Elite3, wow. this is definitely the last nhl i will ever play. I thought nhl 19 was bad, but this game is just ridiculous, it has nothing to do with ice hockey, more like a high pressure high speed pinball game. I have never seen so many spins and trembling players who never lose the puck and who only show up near you and already own the puck. I can press all the buttons on the controller 10 times without getting the puck. the cpu player prefers to make another 20 turns and plays a perfect pass from every situation, even after a check. I check the cpu player into the gang with full force, but he gets up again in a 1/100 second and has the puck, wow that's hockey, so cool. I think I'm lying. what nonsense. you programmers should go to the station, you will see how such a game works. you completely destroyed it. I've never seen so many punishments for nothing, just ridiculous. every little touch is a punishment that destroys the entire flow of the game. i will never play this game again, i have been playing it from the beginning since the sega console, but i have never played anything so bad and unfair. the speed difference is ridiculous enough, everything else is not worth the name.
It's best to find a new job, preferably as a programmer for a high-speed pinball game.

Could not agree more!!!! The game play is so unrealistic . EA dictates the winner of every game before it even starts. The worst part is they make the Squad Battles more difficult by changing the mechanics of the game. Just because I play on superstar level doesn't mean their 78 center should out draw my 98 center on every face-off. Or my 97 wingers miss the net from the slot just because I'm on superstar level. I thought the last madden game was bad, but this is terrible. I'm almost ashamed I spent the money to buy this game and will never give EA my money again. EA you should be ashamed. Obviously nobody at your company has ever seen a real hockey game, or any real sporting event for that matter.

HUT has to be the biggest money grab for EA. Gamers gotta spend a pretty penny to find some of those players. This years is a bummer for sure. 2019 was more fun. I was in games and competitive most of the time. This year I've lost my last 8 games and every team I play has Lemieux, Shanahan, Matthews, Roy in net. All the big stars and I just started competitive seasons. What's that all about I thought these teams were supposed to be lower tier, better matchups. It's no fun and I'm rattled half the time. They score the same high slot, toe drag wrister over and over. No bueno.

You have to play 100 hours a week to get good players. And even when you get good players, you still can't stop the puck ragging cheese goal scoring players. And the higher the division you are in, the more relevant the puck magnet. The puck just keeps going back to the other team. The fun is gone in HUT. Better off paying versus for a more realistic experience without all the shenanigans.

Between Rivals, Squad Battles and challenges, I play about 6 games a day Monday - Friday. I usually get a couple EASHL games in each day as well. Yes, it's a lot of games, but it also has gotten me some very good rewards. I regularly get accused of buying my team. Even in June. One of the main reasons I have the team I do is because even when I don't get something I can use or sell in my packs, those players go towards the trade-in for gold collectibles. That's a big part of how I built my team and I haven't spent anything extra in several months.

Ya HUT is beyond bad. I think it is Ice Tilt/Momentum mechanics that ruins it to be honest. Remove that and all is gravy

I see a lot of people complaining about writers from the slot.......it’s a shot you don’t want to allow to a good shooter in real life lol. Especially if teammates to possibly pass to are around. I cycle the puck to get puck chasers out of position and easy one timers.....it’s called playing hockey. Remove momentum and most of these issues go away

Im not gone read that all, but yeah, I play Nhl EA from my childhood, disks are on my wall in living room and Last 5 years I play HUT from preorder to the new preorder almost every day. This year was that way keep new players in by help them win so absurd, almost bizare. Yes the players who play using how they like to call that a game mechanic, just a glitch still play same way without creativity if they happy like that Im OK with that, its up to them., but If you just try to not using that obvious defects in online, so you can realy enjoy, until some players who play 10 games in with 7 lose and half team base card will shoot your goalie by 5 sniper aim gunshot power base cards down like a baby from absurd angles and one times. Its make you angry, specialy when you send hours to make synergys and use players what you love. Bring back old Hull god damm.
Its OK its only game and try to just have a fun, but then you just try say a Word here, and boom. Ban, try it Different and bum ban. Political of that EA is absurd. Stoped play and buying any game from this company 3 months ago, and my life is definitely getting better.

Its the same story with them all, you’re Ban 😂🤣🤣 this game is a big joke. Ea will lose alot of money now, because this is a children game, an children dont use visa money in this game.! The sad thing is ea guys dont listen to us, but just let it go on....

I agree with most of what you said. I have absolutely no problem with that slot wrister going in. My problem is the way they get there. People either exploit the mechanics or they are ineffective.

I like to dump the puck, chase it down and cycle for a good opportunity. But for a lot of people just glide with their stick curled and cheese their way to that wrister, over and over and over and over.

It kills me this whole sieres kills me. I only buy used copies now and I wait till there under 10. And even now it feels like a RIP off. I love hockey video games. Or at least I used to. I'll still go back and play nhl hits or nhl 94 or any of the ones hockey games and have more fun then any of this. I would love a more realistic hockey game but it feels like each year it gets more and more realistic yet still no hockey game. I just got 19 and it's just not fun. There are the bugs that everyone on line has complained about but in addition there is no good hockey game here. It's over complicated and yet basic options dont seem to be there. I'm not totally sure yet because there's 20 modes and I haven't tried them all yet. I just want to play hockey with my friends on line. Every year I'm disappointed. Please make a good hockey game first and then make it realistic. Then work out the bugs.
