Get to chose language and after that it stops, uninstalled it becouse i wanted to try to reinstall it, now it doesn't even wanna install, it's not happening, why did I buy the great 8 version with early acces if it's not gonna work in any way, maybe ea should send out a replacement becouse you can't play the, pretty angry and disapointed right now...

Did you try playing before the game was fully installed? If so, try deleting and installing again, but make sure you wait until it's fully installed before loading into the game. We've been seeing an issue with this and it's being investigated.

Are people going to get their money back from EA Play?

It would seem to me that those who loaded in to the game 'early' were only doing so because the console notifies people the "game is ready" - definitely not the users' fault.

Hopefully EA makes this right as a lot of people missed out on their full 10 hours of gameplay.
  • 6-hours into my 10 and I can say that this game is a decent improvement over 20. I actually went and played 20 right after just to make sure what I was seeing was true.

The most noticeable improvement from an offline perspective is the AI neutral zone play. Much more aggressive, force dumps a lot more, really like seeing that. The AI forechecking is fairly good as well, but I still wish they’d “forecheck to a fault” at times. Too often do I see an AI defender coming to pinch, and a simple hold of RS or one stride retreat stops the pinch in their tracks which effectively makes any pressure they did have useless. When running a weakside lock, I’d like to see the defensemen “pinch to a fault” more often than not as the strategy calls for your 3rd forward to expect the pinch and cover for the defenseman. Obviously I wouldn’t like for defensemen to always pinch and keep applying the pressure, but when running this particular forecheck, the effectiveness really does rely on that pressure so they shouldn’t be so quick to stop and be passive. That being said, the forecheck is a lot better, I notice myself needing to be more careful when breaking out and breaking into zones.

The goalies still feel the same. I like seeing a few new animations but they don’t really play anything better or worse imo. I like seeing the palms out animation when they recognize a juicy rebound, but I don’t like how they start that animation before a shooter is even there, then they seem to just revert to a normal reaction save once a shot does come. I’d like to see them push to the rebound and then hold that “blocking” animation when the shot actually comes. Great step in the right direction animation wise, just needs work on the timing/execution imo. As an offliner, I’ve appreciated the fact that goalies are getting beat with some snipes from elite shooters more this year, especially when slightly changing the angle of the shot prior to release.

The AI defensemen use their sticks a lot more which is nice to see. I find zone entries a lot more challenging.

Not loving the hitting so far. Seems like hits along the wall, unless it’s a huge hit, are less effective than last year.

Skating seems fluid but a little weird compared to 20. The on-puck pivots seem to not go in the direction I want as much as 20, but still need to play around with that. Can’t tell what the issue is enough to articulate it.

In-zone offense is still very repetitive and static in modes where you control the full team. Would like to see crash the net always have someone screening the goalie when the puck is high. Too many times the forwards just end up getting tied-up to the left or the right of the goalie which is rather useless. The overload still doesn’t see the side board winger crash the net after passing it to the low man. The slot forward still doesn’t try to find space and open-up when the play is coming from the side boards/behind the net. Guy seems kind of stuck in a “screen” position which is fine when the puck is high, but makes the offense not very effective when on the side boards or low. Behind the net is great for cycling and quick, bad angle one-timers, but the forwards don’t fight enough to get on their forehand for better opportunities. When the puck is rotated high, I’d like to see one of the “shooters” move to a tip position. Every strategy just needs more dynamic AI play to make it more immersive/fun/realistic.

Overall, it’s an improvement. The magnitude of the improvements is subjective but it is an improvement. It’ll be hard to stay with 20 after experiencing the NZ play which is a good sign for me. If I can’t really enjoy the previous game after playing the new game, something must’ve been improved enough right?

  • Downloaded it twice same garbage both times. Its unbelievable in the year 2020 the answer for poor workmanship is re-boot. :'(
  • This is bad. The CPU is the exact same as previous installments. Same game just with fancy dangles.

Did you let the game and update completely download and finish installing before playing? If you load into the game before these both finish, the error with HUT packs will occur.
  • When will rival points be fixed in hut?!!!!
  • Hi I pre ordered the deluxe version of the game, I received my loyalty packs but I have not gotten the packs I should have for ore ordering the game. I am really frustrated since I paid extra money for the game and have not received them.
