I play with the New York Rangers and noticed a couple of things
When I start the Franchise mode younger players (I notice mainly Nils Lundqvist) who haven't signed their ELC all of a sudden have signed a one year contract.
Also how come players who have signed their ELC (Lafreniere, Robertson, etc.) and are eligible to play in the CHL automatically get put in Hartford? I know in the past if they're under a certain age and don't make the NHL they have to go back to the CHL.
Also, players in the CHL and European leagues don't accumulate stats throughout the season. Same for those in their upcoming draft year.
Is this just me or are others having problems like this?
Yeah dude both offline modes BAP and FM are really broken. It’s a shame
After the last fix passing glitches are all over the place.
Player movement is aweful.
Player movement was best when it first came out.
And as usual you are supposed to go back to old settings but its not the same.
I haven’t had the chance to play 21 yet, but I’m assuming this hasn’t changed since 20. Apologies if it was addressed.
One aspect I’ve never understood is why we there can’t be a “bidding war” for free agents rather than the current one offer system. I spent a bunch of time trying to find a good player in free agency to fit my coach’s scheme (since we are all about that now) and found I guy I REALLY wanted. Day 3 of free agency there are 3 interested teams so I offered a few hundred thousand over asking price to lure him over. By the day he signs there are 7 interested teams, and he ends up signing for $50k over my offer. It would be really nice to have a chance to up my offer to sign that player. Something like the player sending a message saying “ You made a good offer and I’d like to play for your team, but I’ve got a better offer on the table from the Bruins. Do you want to try to beat it?” Then if I up my offer the other team(s) have the opportunity as well, until there is just one team left standing.
In the real world it’s not like every interested team submits just one initial offer and the player picks from those. There is negotiation to try to get the best deal possible, pitting teams against one another to try to up their salary. We should have the same thing.

100% something like this is needed and there was no change made for NHL 21 by the way.
They could even just show us what other teams have offered and what the players interest level is in signing with that team. Show us how much interest the player has in signing with us and then we will have to decide how much to offer the player. Obviously we would have to outbid teams with a higher interest and not have to offer quite as much if the player wants to sign with us.
I really do like your idea of a back and forth bidding war quite a lot as well. As long as all the bidding/messaging was done in one day so we don't have to wait numerous days and not have to wait to find out about getting that player, while missing out on others like the current system.

It doesn't seem like that would even take a whole lot of development time to even implement. For everything else they try to cram in no one even asks for, this seems like a really simple tool that would make a huge difference. But its the same thing in Madden as well. You either overpay and hope you get the player or miss out. For 2020 franchise system, its pretty low end not to have something like that. Same with trading. Its great that they added the find trade option. Its one thing i really appreciate and is a game changer system. That said, why there is no counter offer system in place is another real miss. Only other thing they could add that would be cool, is a player agent in FA messaging you that their player wants to play for you or something, but id be happy and set if they just added those last two systems.
PLEASE add realistic names for players from non-major hockey nations e.g. Austria, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland etc - it's just dumb that they still use American names for the last 20 years+
Why are there 4 types of coach (Head, Associate, Assistant, Goalie) in the game but when you try to hire them there are only 3? Why do coaches who specialise in coaching goalies refuse to be goalie coaches?
The most useful information in regard to scouting is player potential, WHY is that only shown in 'view draft class' and not on the 'Assign Scout' screen??? I want to assign scouts to players where I don't know their potential so why hide this information on this screen???
Not sure if this bug is related to expansion draft, but players who in real life are signed through 20/21 become free agents straight after the 19/20 draft. Examples include Dougie Hamilton, Antti Raanta, Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Tatar.
Also possibly an expansion draft thing, there is no information about any players in the first draft, do you really think Seattle will turn up at their first draft having done no scouting whatsoever?
All coaches and scouts are too similar, if their overall grade is C all their attributes are between C+ and C-. Please add some variety so they can be good at some things but bad at others.
FIX BROKEN THINGS before adding new broken things.
The goalie coaches, bang on. Not to mention they all want to be grossly overpaid. They don't even have a goalie grade. I wouldnt be hiring a goalie coach to run PP PK OFF DEF. Also have to like the whole teaching vs influence dynamic. You would think they would be one and the same. How can a good teacher have no influence and vice versa? Hahaha. Its comical
As a GM I'd like/LOVE to answer media Qs, the ability to redesign the dressing room and area(s), and lift the Cup with your team. DON'T forget about the parading the Cup!
Thought of something else! Ability to CARRY OVER stats and information from pervious year! Amazing if that came to be. Tired of starting over EVERY YEAR!
