Do you guys actually enjoy the gameplay?

I've never gotten bored this fast with a new NHL game and trust me I've tried to give this game a fair chance. HUT rivals is full of pay2winners, the gameplay is more luck based than ever, it's monotonous and repetitive, it favours attributes over mechanical skill like with the constant poke spam. Every single player that I've chatted with about this game seem to agree that this is the worst NHL game to play competitively to date and for example my eashl crew has already given up on HUT. There is no redeeming factor, it's a joke.

Well, i recently played with some higher profile streamers who say they have been able to look past some problems in the past because it was still fun but say this year bores them, and their stream numbers are way down because nobody cares to watch a game of cross crease 21 over and over. 2 weeks in and i already had trouble finding games in just bout all modes.

My opinion, no im not having fun. If you try to play this like a hockey game, its extremely frustrating with inconsistent gameplay, ratings that dont seem to matter from game to game, and the fact that their goalie will play lights out to create a fun game. Problem is because ea allows the ability to spin in corners, never passing until they can force a pass literally THROUGH sticks for a OP one timer, and score 4 goals on 5 shots, nobody plays real hockey so youre left fighting for your goals while they cheese for theirs, and the goalie gives up their unrealistic crap way easier and never learns.

Until EA decides to commit to either sim or arcade style, well get this terrible mashup of trying to please everyone, so they end up pleasing nobody.

Both yes and no, when I get to dictate the game pace and I can get in balance with the flow, I really enjoying it, but when it become a slugger fest and my opponent is pretty successful just by running straight ahead me with pokes all over the place and constantly avoid any other play then cross creases, I dont like it. Feels pointless, and I start to wonder how boring it must be for him, if it's even boring for me.

Im usally play in the middle rival division 4..I dont think my way to play is build to work any higher then that... I dont even wanna take a look on how 1 or 2 is.. I can only imagine.

I'm hovering between rivals 2 and 3. That's the thing, some of the master items and icons like Mario and Lafleur are so op that you don't really need to do anything else than just skate straigh ahead and throw pucks to the net because the defense can't keep up. Then in the other end if your AI can't beat the opponent with speed your team mates will just get tied up (which is one of the most stupid mechanics in the game and so arbituary) or bunched up and you won't get those so important one timers.

I often find myself just afking games away against op teams because there is just no point in playing when you know that the whole game is an uphill battle no matter how well you play.

Yeah I can defenetly feel your pain.. I still have some bronze in my lineup and it can be really hard to match all of thoose icon line ups.

I think it sad, great players like Gretzky, Lafleur, Selänne getting used to only gain speed, waste of talent, they can do so much more, but I guess it dosent suit the META.

But ive allready hyped for the coming patch... 😬😏
  • I'm enjoying the online gameplay havnt had any issues yet but did just get the game a week ago so have only played a handful of games online.
  • The only aspect of this game that I find enjoyable is playing in a created GMC league. 6's can be fun as well, occasionally.
