I don't know...

Is it worth it? All the time you spend grinding for packs, completing all objectives, getting garbage players all the time? I have never ever spent a dollar on packs, but always relied on free packs and finishing objectives. But what's the point in doing that when all i get is garbage? I can honestly say that i've opened well over 200 packs this year. Best player i got was a 86 base Ovechkin... Last year you could grind weekly challenges and get an icon or gold collective for instance. Now you get a primepack loaded with...trash!! I can say that i've played for many years. Since NHL was on the Sega Megadrive but now i am close to giving up. This is just not funny anymore...

It sounds like HUT is pretty frustrating for you. What about playing a different mode instead where you don't have to worry about building your team?
  • Nope. Played hut since it was introduced. Seen it getting worse and worse from season so season. Now everything's about buying ingame stuff. And i'm just not interested in that. It's sad, but i think this is the last season for me. And i think that many other players feel this frustration too.
  • Keep grinding free packs you will get some good pulls eventually

I agree every year it gets worse ,and the game play looks more like an arcade game then a hockey sim

There's a lot of free packs you can get, but you do need to put some work into it. Regardless, if it's not fun, I don't blame you for moving on to something else. Hopefully, changes will be made in the future that better meet your needs. Good luck to ya :)
  • I agree
There’s no need to want to improve your team any more.

Since the new patch was released last week, I’m now watching the 76-80 CPU teams in squad battles cycle, skate, pass and shoot the puck like they’re a 90 team

Don’t even get me started on the crappy packs

After every patch this game changes like a freaking chameleon. I have no clue what to expect from this game any more
    My interest is lost...

There might be lots of free packs but they are still filled with garbage.

You can see the probabilities in the store. The chances of pulling a high rated item are very low. If packs were full of the best players, everyone would have the same team. I also don't consider packs full of garbage when I can trade in those lower-rated players for collectibles or put them towards a team building set so what you perceive to be garbage still has value.

Ah yes, probabilities. How about guarantees instead? Why not take the 'surprise' aspect out of packs? Tell us exactly what we are getting with our money. For example, this pack contains 10 80s, 4 83s, 2 86s and 1 90. X number of 80+ players is too vague. The way it's set up is garbage, not just the contents, the execution reeks. An example of terrible execution is the Icon set packs. I did the 86 set like 6 or 7 times. Every pack but the first had 2 doubles in it. The description say I get to choose from 4, which is technically correct, but in reality I'm only getting a choise of 2. Why would anyone take an untradeable double? Why not let us pick the card from all 86s or all 87s?

From my perspective, everyone already has very similar teams. There are popular players that will be on every team or at least the majority of teams.

I agree they have value, but it's minuscule. There are only a handful of cards that have 'real value'.

It's also early in the season still. I was able to get both Lemieux and Gretzky by trading in players for Icon collectibles. To me, that's some value otherwise those players would probably never be touched. I rarely ever play the market so I don't like spending time posting dozens of players for auction. I'd rather just use them in sets. It's just a difference in how we play. I don't buy a lot of packs myself. I like to get the ones that guarantee gold collectibles or a special player like with the new Fantasy promotion. I get free packs from Rivals, Squad Battles and Rush. I don't mind grinding for coins as well so I really don't spend much, but I also don't feel a need to compete at the highest levels. I'm happy just playing and earning as I go. If HUT doesn't make you happy though, there are other modes that may be more appealing.

    Gm Connected was more appealing
