NHL 21 Patch 1.4 Notes

Hello, NHL fans!

Patch 1.4 for NHL 21 will release on January 28th. The patch notes can be found below.

Available January 28th @ 10am PT

Fixes

- Fixed a rare crash that would sometimes occur when loading into a Threes Eliminator game

- Fixed an issue where using the Report Content option during a game would sometimes cause the World Of Chel main menu to show up over top of gameplay

- Fixed an issue where PlayStation®5 consoles were sometimes receiving an Unexpected Error

- Fixed an issue where Private Games were not showing the 3 stars in the post-game flow

- Fixed an issue where Private games were hiding Opponent info while Club Finals was active

- Fixed an issue where users were receiving an unexpected error at puck drop in EASHL games

- Fixed a timing issue for when the EASHL wipe was being shown during the intermission highlights

- Fixed a rare issue where a Threes Eliminator game would hang when allowing the “Next Game” timer to reach 0

- Fixed an overlapping Russian text issue in the My Career Stats leaderboard

- Fixed a rare Club Finals issue where users would crash when readying up after matchmaking

- Fixed an issue where it was possible to cause the Network Performance screen to overlap the end of game menu

So sad and pathetic that FM or BAP aren’t even being touched after 60 days of its last “fix” which was record book, and trade values. Both of which are still actually broken.

Offline players don’t matter. EA does not care about us, and doesn’t want to bother fixing their game modes that aren’t even playable. But since they don’t make money, HUT does, then it’s not a priority.

I for sure understand the frustration with not addressing offline mode issues, but this patch did not contain any HUT updates. It mostly was EASHL crashes and jerseys.

They get all the updates and fixes. We get a broken game, and get ripped off $80

Im curious as to why the Winnipeg Jets centre ice logo won't be updated as well as fixing the Jets retro reverse jersey? ( the blue on the jersey is too light its the same dark blue as all the other jerseys) and is there any plan to release the new nhl divisions and schedule for season mode as well as adding the adds to the helmets and all the new goalie gear like the True hockey goalie gear and new Bauer and CCM equipment?

I looked through the patch notes. I'm counting 17 updates to Franchise/BAP and 16 for HUT.

New goalie masks for all the teams would be a real nice addition as well as the addidas white retro jersey and the 90s Jets jerseys last years Hartford Whalers throwback

What is more concerning right now is gameplay! We need a major update for that because it's turning majority of us away. Some of the top streamers and gamechangers are starting to avoid HUT and EASHL now because of IP booting. Just recently a guy has been on Xbox in 3's booting clubs, and glitching across to the other opponents net to block the goalie from making a safe so his team can score. He plays HUT too and has IP booted people. last week someone bought NHL 21 just to boot the top players in HUT champs on Xbox and went after a partnered NHL streamer. This person had 12 hours, 45 minutes played and cheated his way to Div. 4. I went against him and he ragged the puck. I caught a break scored and he booted me also. In any previous EA NHL game I have played, these issues weren't as common. I used to play 10-15 games daily, and enjoyed it. Now I play 2 games a week and get frustrated...

i am a bit disappointed that the missing net animations seem not having been fixed🥲. but I look forward to seeing the new Sharks alternate jersey ingame🥰

Again same person doing this to another club! Glitches to the other side and then he IP boots. The WOC update recently just for challenges is ridiculous...

Any intention of fixing the behind the net animations where defensemen target their own goal instead of using the boards as an exit option?

Also fixing the dead spot in the corners where pucks come to a complete stop?

I looked through the patch notes. I'm counting 17 updates to Franchise/BAP and 16 for HUT.

1 update is the record book fix, it’s still broken. Another is the trade value fix, it’s still broken.
There’s for sure one, if not two updates for the conversations in BAP but they are still broken..
1 was a critical issue fix for the substitution issue in FM, another 1 was the issue with dmen line chem, so far that’s about 6 updates, or 1/3 of the updates this year, and two of them are void because there’s still issues.
Oh and another was to fix the skating styles.
We can go on about this if you want, but HUT gets all the resources and time. Franchise mode from 17, to 21 is hardly different. A couple new features, that are poorly implemented and broken.
FM and BAP are in sad states, and you know I’m not the only one who thinks this. I sure am the most vocal about it, and I will continue to be, unless I somehow get my money back.

I mean, when I get home from work, I have no issue going through the patch notes and pointing out how neglected FM is. And in all honesty, the dmen chem, and line sub should’ve been caught before release. The game was rushed and FM and BAP were, and still are, poorly done. Not to discredit the time and effort of the devs. It’s simply the direction that the modes were taken, and the amount of attention they were allotted, which seems to be very little

Curious too the Jets Alternate have the light blue on the gloves too along with their Home and Away. Also the Manitoba Moose Name and Numbers still haven't had the Antlers on them too. Will that ever be added its been a few years since I've always just been curious

All this and no ability to create a player with no helmet or a goalie with a retro Friday the 13th hockey mask or no mask at all? Man oh man. So disappointing. It's already in the game but not available for create a player. Sad.

Literally 0 gameplay changes with this upcoming patch in the patch notes. Or is there going to be a tuner coming with it since we had 0 tuners this year? Or these devs really think the game is balanced right now when even grinder build has faster shot release and power than Matthews irl? Been playing EASHL 6s since NHL 14 this game is the worst ever, force cross crease, cut to middle snipe goalies who are even challenging since there is a glitch shot from middle of ice. Yet 0 tuners and even new patch has 0 gameplay changes. I hope this series goes bankrupt so another competent developers who know what gaming balance start making NHL games again. Human goalie mode is a joke this year.

Havent played in 2 months and this patch looks like does nothing for ESHL 6s gameplay.

I think it's pointless at this rate to even report players when no action is being taken. Last week a guy was IP booting the top gamers in Hut Champs on Xbox One. Literally is why he bought the game. He is still online. Then there is the guy I am talking about who is glitching his goalie to the other side and IP booting people. Hundreds of reports on him. And today while trying out for a 3 v 3 club as goalie, I get paired up with him in my 9th game. He does the same thing to me and I lose 7-2 as I couldn't make a save while he was pushing me. If nothing is going to get done where players like these are dealt with, I'm officially uninstalling this game. Already NHL 21 is starting to slowly decrease in population, other than League Games. Just over the cheaters and frustration of them, ruining our experience with their toxicness.

Probebly nothing, would have mention that already in that case.

Would be good to just know if we have anything more to expect, or if they done for now and we have to live with current state. Which is no disaster but I wouldn’t mind some fine-tuning, and definitely not some information.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the work on the next gen is startin to be in full swing
