ability to practice shooting/skating while editing player or goalie removed (we can do that)

5 - net mesh animations removed

7 - stick breaking in EASHL removed (Because we asked for it to be removed they listened)

16 - Winter Classic mode removed Licensing not worth doing each year and to get the scans n such. But we got plenty of outdoors goodness in WoC

    28 - dynamic attendance removed

    32 - Authentic Puck Physics (a big seller for nhl 13) removed…

33 - allstar game removed from be a gm

34 - stanley cup banner removed from franchise

35 - trophy banner presentation removed from EASHL Was asked to be removed due to how annoying it was each game dragging it out

    36 - 4 stick flex options removed

41 - strategy settings used to have visual demonstrations

    42 - intro presentations removed

44 - the ice used to effect the puck physics the longer the period went on, rough ice would produce more bounces etc… People wanted more consistency from gameplay thus a more dull result

63 - goal horns used to be accurate Licensing

64 - goal celebration cut scenes now show everyone as the same height

80 - numerous authentic jerseys removed

These ones to me are definitely head scratchers. Add them back + roster sharing, some gameplay tweaks (as specifically to goalies and hitting along the boards, players bracing for the impacts if it’s a shoulder on shoulder hit) and I’ll be happy

    There I answered some

The only thing I miss, as well as being one of the only things that can actually affect gameplay is the one-touch pass.

Are you saying one-touch passing isn't in the game? It's been there for many years. When a pass is coming your way, hit pass before the puck is received and a one-touch pass will be performed.

It’s definitely still there. I don’t call it the one touch pass though. I call it the “I was trying to switch players and ended up turning over or icing the puck” lol

    lmao it's so true
  • GMC, GMC & GMC. What a game mode, even with it's faults. Bring that back with cross play and I'd be a happy camper.

or “I was trying to switch players or go in for a check and ended up turning over or icing the puck” It is the most frustrating thing about this game for me. I have lost out on so many breakaway chances. I mentioned earlier that on the ps3, I could change the button config to prevent this but now we don't have a choice.

After nhl 14, they completely ruined hitting... because too many people said, "it's op and people are getting laid out too much." Thise were probably also the same people skating in a straight line, who desrved to get laid out as well... Since then collision physics have been horrible... you go to make a hit now and there's like a bubble, so the hit doesn't happen. It's even hard to be consistent at forechecking, to bump player off the puck, which is a decent part of my game.
Not a bad thing in the large scale. In reality hits are a bad decision. You're committing your body to a single action, which likely takes you out of the play for an extended period of time.

To be effective at 'bumping' and physically separating player from puck, '21 requires you to get in front of a puck carrier. And 'body position' is a realistic advantage.

The only thing that prevents this from occurring in this game with regularity are players who spam the LT. And I don't think you're talking about them.

This right here. There is a beautiful base to this game where low-speed hitting can look at extremely real and be super effective, it’s just the online tuners that hold it back. I love the RPM engine. I think the online tuners hold it back from its full potential because I love it offline. The board hits look really really nice.

I never bothered looking at the controls but it's still there? It hadn't worked as well or the same (seemingly not at all, actually) since 20.

But I used to be great at hip checking too until you changed it. Were there any tweaks to the one touch in the past few iterations of the game? I used to be pretty dang good at that now I can't get it off at all. My buddy even thought it was removed too since he can't really do it anymore either.

I'm not aware of any changes. It's worked the same for me for the last few years. I use it a lot. Especially in my offensive zone.
  • I miss when the figure skaters could "blow a tire" and lose an edge and fall down from skating in circles.
I miss when players could injure themselves against the walls on whiffed body checks.
I miss when you could overcharge a pass and then the pass would be too hot to handle for the receiver.

It definitely doesn’t work as well as it use to. Hip checking also.

Wait and see on that one.

    But good points - overall.
