  • Reading through the replies and seeing so many complaints about the skating makes me very sad. I really like the balance that has been found between the puck carrier and a defensive player. In 15 or so EASHL games, I've created all sorts of turnovers from players who are used to the puck carrier having more low-speed…
  • I think the EASHL would provide the best overall competition, but a HUT tournament I think would draw a lot more people to try and get in...I think the EASHL model would be better, personally.
  • In my experience playing the game, when the AI's aggressiveness increases, they are able to outperform their attributes, and I believe that the AI's over-performance is what creates that feeling of a game that someone is meant to lose. I really think the game's quality would improve immensely if the AI always played at…
  • In this year's game, I think regrouping more than twice is puck ragging. In all fairness, the way previous games have played, I could empathize with not dumping the puck. However, this year I feel like you can do a pretty good job with dump and chase when needed. Especially if you use the hard around dump as opposed to the…
  • Carbons were going between 55-65k this morning.
  • I think the game's scoring chances are drastically affected by positioning. In my experience, moving the puck to an open player, regardless of where he's at on the ice, then putting the puck on net, is a great way to get scoring chances that turn into goals. When it comes to point shots, I let them go when I see my…
  • This morning they were going for around 6k. My experience is that you get a couple jerseys and mayble a logo or two in a gold 20 pack.
  • I would go the auction house route. I've been buying packs with coins, except for the weekly packs I got for buying the deluxe edition. Let's just say my pack luck is much better on the weekly packs than buying with coins.
  • When playing single player, I can understand the ice tilt theory because of how the AI plays. It's insane...but the system is programmed to read your left stick inputs, so no matter what you do, they're on top of you to take the puck away (unless you just use RS to protect, then they freak out and slap you with their…
  • Good list by the OP. I didn't read every post, so perhaps this has already been addressed, but the AI needs to change. The current system is nothing more than the AI tracking your movement of the left stick when you have the puck. Then, it goes the opposite of what you're doing when it has the puck. While I can appreciate…
  • 100% agree about the skating here. Hopefully this is something that can be addressed in a patch...
  • Yeah I see that, this is unfortunate. Guess someone is going to have to start a new thread....
  • Funny thing about this thread, I had to go to my topics to find it again. Even when searching page by page, this thread wasn't visible in the list, whether I was signed in or signed out. Odd, but I wanted to bring this back to the front of the forums because I think this is one of the biggest problems with the game's…
  • Two thoughts, and by no means will this solve your dilemma, but it may help. 1. If you can, slow down into a glide when trying to pick up the puck. I know there are plenty of times this can't be done, but I've noticed it helps. 2. Try to hold L2/LT when you're in a passing lane. I see it all the time where pucks go right…
  • What's sad is that they will sometimes crush you, but other times if you do the right stick glide, they'll skate right next to you and not do anything. After a while, they'll take a penalty because they spazz out doing stick lifts and end up smacking you in the face.
  • My experience with this year's game has been that it's not 100% the player's fault in all cases. I've noticed it most when using staggered defensive zone coverage, the strong side winger is down in the corner when he should be taking away the pass up the boards to the point. I get that there are plenty of occasions when a…
  • The hardest part for me defensively is keeping players in position. I understand how they should be positioned, but when I let the AI control them, they run out of position opening up holes in the scheme.
  • This x100 for me. Happened so many times trying to end on a good note, and nearly ends in a broken controller.
  • Such a great point about the flaws of this game, from a simulation standpoint. One thing I'd like to add to this, more specifically, is how the AI's attributes mean nothing. When they get more aggressive and start swarming, this is what creates the "ice tilt" feeling that has been mentioned (and ignored) for years. The…
