I think you’d be surprised at the percentage of the player base that would migrate over to PC with options like 100+ FPS, custom rosters, graphics mods, etc. It would be the definitive version of the game and for something fast twitch like hockey probably the preferred place to play for competitive/eSports players.

In real hockey the idea is to shoot at what the goalie gives you, and usually a quick release snapper where they can’t square up or react in time is most effective. In this game even if it looks like you have far side and want to try to pick that clean, you’re better off charging up a stupid short side high wrister - where…

There’s literally no incentive to play on your strong side when every build can wire a one timer 125mph bar down with Ovechkin accuracy regardless of how hard the pass is or where the pass is relative to your feet. You can also pass the puck 100 mph tape to tape on your backhand and there’s no reception penalty for…

While we’re at it - is there any way to make the branded helmets more common or unlocked from the start in world of chel? I haven’t been able to use the Bauer 4500 or CCM v08 in the last 3 years, but seem to always unlock 4000 emotes I never touch or that hideous and fake looking college helmet.

Thanks for jumping in on this. Just replacing the Bauer Reakt 100 with the 150 and/or 95 would go a long way for player likenesses. Literally no one uses the 100 anymore (or really ever did) and half the guys in your game (HUT and CHEL) have it on their heads.

Good catch on the ultrasonics. Most guys will wear the yellow ones.

This series is dead and has been NBA Live’d. NHLDev’s comments make it painfully clear that the community and the current dev team will never see eye to eye. Trying to debate any of this is a complete waste of time. It was fun while it lasted. Cheers fellas.

This would require them to admit that the game needs rebuilding. Based on their complacency with the latest tuner despite mountains of negative feedback across the internet the likelihood of that happening is 0%

He’s completely missing the point, but yea. If you let a guy get into a prime scoring position on a regular basis, it’s on you. The fundamental issue is this. Let’s say I’m left handed coming off the right wall into a prime scoring area. Real hockey: I’m going to try to pick whatever corner the goalie gives me. EA NHL: I…

The bait and switch tuner this year is about as egregious as the complete lack of modes in NHL 15 Full Game. NHL 20 will be the first EA hockey game in 24 years I don’t pick up on day one. Shame on you guys.

The issue wasn’t the bumps from behind, it was the fact that when you beat someone with speed and got bumped from behind the puck defied physics and went backward or completely stopped in its tracks.

It doesn’t feel arcade at all. NHL Hitz, NHL Open Ice, and Gretzky 3D hockey all had ultra responsive controls and at least represented the sense of speed you get from being on skates in real life (albeit to an extreme). NHL 19 feels like driving a minivan in Forza skinned as a hockey player (with all the driving assists…

This made me LOL. Don’t forget to change Filip’s number to 21. He’ll be right handed but close enough! - EA

The fundamental issue is that people would like to just play defense organically, as opposed to playing “stop the glitch goal”. Preventing unscreened wrist shots from the outside should not be your focus, but in this game it has to be. Most coaches IRL would tell you to give up those shots all day because it’s a routine…

Meaning, that is the first day I’d even consider purchasing the game. I’d rather hear feedback from the community before wasting any money. I hear you loud and clear though. If by thanksgiving next year the consensus is that the game is terrible I’ll just skip it altogether. I’ll play the NHL 20 beta because it’s free, but…

NHL 20’s release date is Black Friday. It will be the first NHL in about 20 years I don’t buy on day 1.
