I believe they're going in the "casino simulator" direction.

If you like baseball and understand it, you can have a pretty good offline experience. Online? It can be as toxic as any game's online modes and has been known to have a glitch or two that can be exploitable. The latter of which became more of a thing when Diamond Dynasty (their version of HUT) became front and center. You…

Yeah, player switching has been brokEAn for a while. I just want the player nearest the puck because that is mostly what I focus on when I decide to intervene (make a play). Why has this been so difficult for so long!!!! My favorites scenarios: I have to switch 2 or 3 times to get the LEAD FORE CHECKER. The context is the…

So, Buffalo being 15 games over .500 must be a bug in the sim engine too.

No, what I think we're expecting form the Madden fiasco is a shift towards legitimate gameplay (no more "surprise mechanics" or gameplay intended to manipulate players into buying more packs) AND ALL the FEATURES that USED to be in FRANCHISE MODE (I guess the peak was lowered to be reached again???) O-kay-kay? Oh, it does…

Does anyone really think you can fix this game? It's a mess. There has been soooooo much developmental neglect over the years in favor of their casino simulation that all the gameplay-shortcuts are coming back to bite them in the ****. It's the same difference with Madden and FIFA. You'll have to wait and see if the Madden…

Online vs. humans (if you can call them that) is as toxic as can be. Offline is where it's at. There's been some neglect and some legacy problems, but SDS has claimed they addressed some of the issues. I guess we'll see and see if there are any new problems. Also, stadium creator has been added for next gen and looks like…

Yeah, the "magic" puck engine has to go. In fact, all the magic engines have to go. It's so obvious in Madden. Watch the Ryan Moody videos and you'll see fumbles and deflections jump 20 or 30 yards into the hands of the defending team. THAT'S a GLITCH in the SCRIPTING or MOMENTUM or SKEWING or whatever you want to call it.…

If he's like me, you won't see him once MLB the Shows releases (thank God I like baseball and can get away from the awful world of EA Hockey for a while).

Lol, we seem to be getting stuck on semantics. Well, our definition of "broken", anyway. Yes, yes, the true sense of the word doesn't apply here. However, may I make a suggestion that might allow for a broader understanding of the frustrating and redundant nature of EA Sports game mechanics. First a new spelling: Brokean…

An exploited glitch assisted by the magic puck engine... Going to be tough to beat. Any chance we can see it in real time?

Manual Injuries - like they have in MLB the Show. Most players use this option to set real life injuries at the start of their Franchise and then revert it back to default to let the the RNG take over. Season players use it to mimic real MLB injuries as they follow along. Would be nice to have this along with a proper Long…

In real life when your under that kind of pressure and you can't make a play, you usually try to put the puck somewhere safe. In this instance, you could chip-it up the near boards or send it hard around the other way. In this game, unfortunately, we don't have a way of chipping the puck out or playing it to open ice.…

Well, from what I can tell, is that you definitely don't have to go into a glide before you hit a player. You can ride the L-stick through players all day. Technically, that's charging. What I'm proposing is that you have stop striding before you throw a hit. Which, in this game means you let go of the L-stick and glide on…

I think you should have to let go of the L-stick, into a glide, and use the right stick to finish the hit. It would require more skill (and be more rewarding, hopefully) and give the offensive player something to read. Also, I would imagine it would end the tryhards from flying around at full speed and slamming into to…

From the perspective of offline Full-Sim... I like what they've been trying to do to build a "sim" style game into the 10 minute period frame. It's enough game for stats to play out and a story line to build. Have they improved over the past few iterations? Yeah. A little. But boy oh boy, there is so much that detracts…

As far as poke checking: all I see is the "magic puck" engine at work. I've gotten good at dislodging the puck without taking a penalty, but the other team usually recovers it instantly. I believe my personal record is 7. Meaning I poke checked a player 7 times in a row on a single possession before a shot or pass was made.

Oh, it says Rivals on the ice, so I guess you're playing Rivals online.

Just out of curiosity, in what context were you in at that point in the game? Were you winning, losing? What period were you in? What game mode is this? Is it offline? If so, what game style (arcade, competitive, full sim)?
Howdy, Stranger!
