Lissa, I had to read you post about 6 times before I realized you weren't referencing that guy from a few weeks ago who plead autism when he was called out for horrid grammar and syntax.

Noooo....he was diagnosed with Asperger's three years ago and has been in behavior modification therapy ever since. It's done wonders, a completely different and self-confident kid but he does have his Aspie's moments (like certain textures ick him out).

We've taught him to never use his disease as a crutch. It is just another facet of who he is and not that big of a deal.

It's why I stayed out of that mess with that person claiming austim/Aspergers. As the mother of a child with it? I know better and knew the guy was just using it as an excuse for bad behavior.
