The update begins off with all of Springfield's kids heading off to Kamp Krusty, thinking the conditions have improved - but they haven't. The kids have had enought of their mistreatment and decide to fight back...the storyline then takes a twist as it is not Bart that takes over the camp...it is Ralph - who has become clever thanks to Frink's clever-iser that went astray.
Once the kids return home, Bart wants to make sure he spends the rest of the summer reading comics and playing video games. Bart starts to play at Noiseland every day, which leads to a hospital checkup, a video game addiction meeting and The Android's Dungeon in danger of closing. And so, with Marge's advice, goes to the Android's Dungeon every day instead. Meanwhile, Jimbo is terrorizing Springfield's kids.
When Marge thinks that Bart should get more active, she takes him to the swimming pool. Unfortunately, that is where Jimbo has got a job as a lifeguard - and Bart is now in a relationship with his girlfriend Shauna. Meanwhile, Homer goes to a fellow employee's bachelor party and dances with Princess Kashmir. Marge finds a picture of Homer with Princess Kashmir pinned up at the swimming pool and throws him out.
And finally, when Homer's marriage is back on-track after a night at the Ye Old Off-Ramp Inn and Bart has broken up with Shauna after getting a good beating, the kids return to school. But it doesn't stop there...
Laura Powers and her mother move (back) to Springfield and Bart falls for her (again) But she likes Jimbo...and it's not a prank call this time that ends their relationship...it's a fake ID. Finally, Bart is told by Principal Skinner that he should have gone to summer school that summer so he must go for the next two summers; Skinner knows that he'll end up going next summer anyway.
The storylines are based off, in order, "Kamp Krusty", "Beware My Cheating Bart", "Homer's Night Out" and "New Kid on the Block".
