Been affected by the Harp Freeze? Contact EA directly, not in this forum.

If you log in to your origin account and click on help and contact us you can get to a form that you can fill out. Of course it wants to collect a lot of useless information about your connection but at least it assgines a ticket number, for what it is worth. Here is the URL. https://help.ea.com/contact-us

Thanks for the info, berwyned! From what I've been reading, most everyone who emails EA about it, simply receives instructions for uninstalling, reinstalling, unsyncing email, unsyncing MobileMe, etc. stuff that isn't working for anyone. But it will give a real voice to our complaint rather than yelling into the wind.

To be fair, their "Current Known Issues" page has not been updated since before Christmas. The thread where people are complaining about this issue is around 20 pages deep with no response from EA. I have submitted a ticket, but will just get a form letter.

I'm not sure why I would choose one forum over the other if I expect a response from EA. They completely ignore both sites.
At least here, there is a chance that another user may actually find a fix that works for all. Is this forum only for "Add me" threads now. I wasn't aware of the change to what could be posted here and what cannot be.

Many of you have been affected by this. I know, it's a total pain in the buns. But EA reps DO NOT read/monitor these posts, so ranting about it here will do you no good.

Here is EA's direct forum for this issue: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/Game-frozen-and-playing-harp-sound-Read-this/m-p/478754#U478754

There, the EA reps do not respond, but they do monitor the posts. It would be far more effective to release your frustrations there. In fact, it would likely help the issue if the number of you who've posted here would go post again there. It would give them a more accurate visual of how many people have been affected, in my opinion, and maybe get them to push a little harder.

It's probably wishful thinking, but worth a shot. You only need to use your Origin login to post.

I thinks it's fine to point out to forum neophytes that EA, while they may check the pulse of the forum once every blue moon, never responds directly to posts. However, to slightly disagree with you: (a) I'm not sure how much additional good contacting EA via the aforementioned link is going to do at this stage; and (b) I think sharing frustrations about the game's shortcomings is one of the purposes of this forum. It's sorta therapeutic.

Is it therapeutic? I find it annoying and useless. It appears I'm outvoted, though. Whatever. I'm only trying to do something to help rather than just complaining. If you want to participate, by all means, please do. If not, then don't. Period.

So don't do it, then. But please don't discourage others.

Please don't take what I said the wrong way, wifey. As I said before, I'm sure noob's to the forum appreciate both the link you provided as well as the head's up concerning EA's "hands-off" relationship with this forum. Those facts bear repeating.

But perhaps one of the lessons we should draw from the recent unpleasantness is that we should try to be a little more expansive and a little less proscriptive about what users should be posting, especially when said postings are game-related.

I was only trying to help and you guys blew it up into something it wasn't, when you could have just as easily stood by and let it. Now it's just another thread. Thanks for that.

This is ****. I'm out. Sheesh.

Good stuff poobeck, taking a pro active approach, and he's right you need to log your issue officially. If you don't find an answer to your issue here, and your still struggling and would like your complaint dealt with after seeing it has died here Answer HQ is your place. Answer HQ Queries

Follow this link for the harp issue, by clicking Here (note: you will need to login with your origin details to register your complaint)

The reason why you get no satisfaction here is because EA is investing all their efforts in to their new brain child Answer HQ beta. It organizes all these complaints and gives them an estimate of how many people are suffering the same glitch. It has mods there who reply to you and everything so if in doubt, head over that way. If you receive no satisfaction, do as the OP suggested and log it officially, complete with a formal complaint.

    Hope this helps guys.
