Do I need to wait for the "collect" prompt when visiting other springfields to get my 25 xp?

u still get the money w/o tapping, but i am not sure if u still get the bonus 25xp. anyone?

Sometimes I think I'm getting it automatically, and other times it doesn't seem to be adding up. I scanned the Posts for this questions, but didn't have the time to go through 97 pages of mostly "add me" posts.
