Harp glitch success on 4s???

Has anyone been able to get past the harp glitch on an iPhone 4s??? I feel like I've tried everything, and maybe I'm just spinning my wheels because it's just not possible on a 4s. Anyone?

after over 6 days of being out, I took a freshly wiped iphone 4 (so one gen below yours), disabled cellular, put it on wifi left the screen on and on the charger. It ran for 45 minutes the first time then I got bart screen that I couldn't connect to server. Clicked retry and app crashed back to home screen. did it again for another 45 minutes to see bart again. however this time when I hit retry it kept retrying, though nothing ever happened except bart kept coming up. Rebooted phone and then next try, I went right in. Only one donut bonus game though. Have confirmed this worked for one other person. But as im sure you have read different things work for different people and some don't work for anyone.

hope this helps.

Thanks, krakenit... I just so happen to have an old iPhone 4 laying around. Gonna wipe it and try your method. I will report back any findings.

Well... I am happy to report that this actually worked for me!! I am back in Springfield, and I can enter and exit without the harp loop happening again. Ahhhhh, sanity... How I have missed you.

So, I wiped my old iPhone 4, then loaded TSTO, logged in, got the harp loop. But the loop seemed much faster this time. I left it for awhile, came back to find the Bart "cannot connect to server" screen. I hit retry, but it just brought me back to this screen again. I kept retrying for about 10 mins, then finally quit out. Logged back in and voila! I was in!

I have a strong feeling this method should work for anyone who happens to have an extra unused device laying around. For whatever reason, I think it was a matter of having the iPhone resources almost entirely dedicated to TSTO...

    Good luck!!

I use a refurbished 32gb 4th gen iPod touch, and I haven't had any problems with the harp glitch. But I still have @24gb free. I wonder if this is why I have no trouble.

Cool. This is the 7th confirmed user that this worked for. Again mileage will vary for everyone but its worth a try using an older iPhone with no service turned on and no other resources in use.

Having free disk space would only matter if you were completely out of space. The resources we feel are freed up enough are proc and ram.

Also since the cause is not device related your iPod is not a deciding factor. The deciding factor is if you are on an affected server.

Definitely interested if anyone is able to fix this specifically on a 4s, no other device used. It's the only device I have available to me, so I'll keep plugging away and letting it run the startup and hoping it breaks through one of these tries.

Have you disabled cellular data and only tried with wifi. Essentially this is the same as trying on an older phone with no service. It's all worth a shot.

Again the fact of cellular being turned off did not work on an iPad. I have only been able to get this to work on iPhones.

Yup, read that last night and been trying it all morning. Also updated my OS after a few tries to see if it made any kind of difference. I've made it around the 15 min mark which seems to work for some people, but so far it's just crashed the program. Did a reinstall of TSTO last night as well.

Basically just leaving it plugged in with autolock off and cell data disabled and hoping it breaks through. I may try to fiddle with some other things just for the sake of trying; I only have TSTO running, so memory shouldn't be an issue, but I may free up some drive space later just in the off chance it has an effect. Probably some stuff on there I don't use anyway.

EDIT: Going to try with wireless disabled and cell data on, just for laughs.

Yeah I did the cell only for a while so I could test different networks and never made progress. But it never hurts to try things over and over again.

The only difference between what you did and what I did with others is you don't have a fully wiped device as if it were brand new out of the box. If you do go that far please make sure you have all data backed up and all pics and vids synced AND copied off your device. :)

    Good luck

Aye, thanks for the info. Probably won't go so far as to wipe the phone, at least for a couple more days when TSTO withdrawl starts to kick in.

Tried wiping my 4s, still no luck with siri/bluetooth/cell data disabled. Crashes to home page after 15 mins or so every time.
