Mine's gone funny too. Tap radius, find character button, Springfield Heights, etc.. have raised 3 cases for help and they've just been closed by ea, without actually fixing anything. Crap service, especially with the amount of people affected.
Weird stuff happened this morning. Started with a notification that the valentine's 2016 event was over but I could continue playing. Followed by the same notification for all the events since then. Tire fire, claw machine, crash site are all getting their own rewards. Insanity pot isn't working and I can't go to characters who have completed jobs by tapping them in the top left box. Also, the radius for tapping is down to nothing. I've uninstalled the fame and reloaded it but it didn't change anything. Oh, one more I'm collecting friends points but there doesn't seem to be anything counting them.
I'm experiencing a bug where every time I open the game I have to log in and it appears to be re-downloading the entire game as if I just downloaded the app onto my device (iPhone). No sign of lost progress but it's definitely a big nuisance.

This problem with the old event and regression has been around since June. EA is obviously either not going to are not able to release a general fix.
The only way some people have had their town fixed was to contact EA and request a rollback. It will roll back to before the problem started so the faster you can get them to do it the less stuff you will lose.
You will have to contact them multiple times. They will try to blow you off. They will tell you there is a fix coming. Respectfully and firmly don't take their ****.
Call them back and start a new case every time they will not help you or close your case without fixing it. Chat or phone is the best options for help. Try to contact when the Texas office might be open.
You will have to be persistent and polite.

This sucks. I've been playing since the beginning, I've got over $200 into this game and EA can't/won't do anything to fix it. Grrrr
If it's any comfort, I'm going through the same issues. I've contacted EA several times, but all I get is "I've passed it to the studio and we're working on it". I've request a roll back several times, but no luck so far. They said when they have a fix, they'll contact me.
Since lasted update, I can no longer zoom out as I used to and now all houses are big and resorts don't even fit in screen.
I have a huge city, and so it's very time consuming to wonder around to collect money and click on characters.
I've already seen some players making the very same complaint, so I know I'm definitely not the only one experiencing this glitch. Anyone has a solution, apart from those included in the list sent by EA that don't work at all?

have tried downloading game tuner but it didn't really help
gone from playing daily to now not at all over the past few days as it being zoomed way in makes it unplayable for me
It seems like this problem comes up more often. I hope they fix it soon. I have this problem since last Saturday. I'm from Germany and try to contact the local chat support. I'm pretty curios what they are going to tell me...
have had the same issue for a while now, few weeks , so i guess we're all on the titanic , the way EA treats the paying customers. am just glad i didn't invest any $ in it .. will check regulary if its' fixed or not .. quite unplayable like this ..
Adding a couple more. Tire fire, claw machine and vehicle pileup are all awarding the rewards for their events. I.e. claw machine is awarding bowling shoes. Insanity cauldron can't be played at all. Monorail is likewise unplayable. One night Stans is also not working

Do note that you will lose all progress in game so abstain from buying stuff from the store or doing any quests in the meanwhile, since you'll have none of that later on.

I decided to start a new game by dusting off my EA Login, and all was going well for a about a week, and bang, now getting the same issue with that game. Swapping back to the anonymous game shows the issues is still there as well (At least it's consistent)
My new game is only around level 10 - but I notice in addition to the symptoms listed on the OP, I'm also getting odd behaviour with progression: Bart and Dr Hibbert are available to build, but I've not done the proceeding stories that lead to these.
I've sent this all to EA Support, with a link to this very thread. I've asked for a rollback, but also whether they're investigating the root cause - because a rollback is fixing the symptom, not the cause.

First I have heard of that......What is the game tuner, what is it supposed to do, and where can it be found?

Note that the Tuner is only compatible with some Samsung devices.
