  • Well guys since posting about this issue a very long time ago I have received a mail from customer services stating that they have found out the issue and it is being resolved as we speak.
    Here's hoping that you all get similar messages very soon. I will try my game when I am home from work and connected to Wi-Fi as I have slot of updates to catch up on. Good luck everyone
  • @kitobi-creed, thanks for the update. Can you elaborate a little more. Did they find the issue with in your game or across the game platform entriely, so we can expect an update to correct this for the rest of us as well?

    I have checked this case and the Expert team said that you should be all set. This issue is the result of bugged variables, and the studio team have set all of them back to the correct state.

    The Panini press issue is moot now that the event it was implemented for is over.

    The Studio has also credited you with 50 donuts for the wait.

    That sounds like good news. If I understand EA’s message correctly, they are not talking about fixing your game via a rollback (good), but their use of the past tense in the first paragraph makes it seem as though they are still fixing games on a case-by-case basis (not so good).

    Since yesterday, old event updates are hitting my town (so far Homer the Heretic and Space Homer). I really hope that this is about fixing the bugs! :-) So far, only more buildings are generating different kinds of event currencys now... as I understood that we are all stuck in different event tie-ins they maybe have to solve it event by event? My fingers are crossed!

    In theory, perhaps. But this is EA we’re talking about. In my experience, individual fixes do not occur without a lotta complaining on the part of each customer.

    So has your own game actually been corrected now?

  • So far this morning I've got three event splash screens. The insanity pot is back, I don't think the other two were affected. Splash screens so far, insanity pot, all religions, and Homer in space.

    Have you finished these events? The Classic Mini events have returned for a short period of time for anyone that hasn't completed them.

    Thanks, but my game is fine. I guess we shall see soon enough whether this fix will be expeditiously applied to the games of other affected users.

    I am having the same issues as everyone else, past events popping up, tap radius, character button, monorail weekly task, spring field heights everyone locked again, and the view, somtimes two or three buildings is all I can see when I am not zoomed in. Do you know how hard it is to clear 160 characters with know tap radius, a **** view and no character button? I only play every two or three days now. This stinks!
  • Hi all. Recently I had a bug where loads of messages flashed onscreen saying I had missed several events from last year but I could still collect items needed to complete. Since then I cannot tap the icon in the top left corner to take me to a character. My tap radius is 3 houses instead of half the screen. My pannini press cooldowns are not working. I have deleted the game and reinstalled but no joy. Also affected a 2nd device that never showed the errors. Any ideas

    Me too! Ended up having to have EA reset my town since none of their suggestions worked. Unfortunately I lost several characters I won out of the character mystery boxes, etc. EA gave me 70 donuts for the inconvenience but that wasn't enough to buy back any of the characters, etc, that I had lost from this very frustrating glitch. I almost quit playing altogether but decided to see how the holiday event went (fabulously btw--thanks EA!!) and am just hopeful something like this never happens again.

    Me too!! EA had to reset my entire town, causing me to lose progress and more disappointingly, character combos I won from the mystery boxes. They did credit me 70 donuts in the end but that wasn't enough to buy back even one of the character combos I lost sadly. I almost quit playing altogether but have enjoyed this game for years and invested quite a bit of actual money into it, so I hung in there. I thought the holiday event was awesome and hope this glitch never happens again!

  • I've also had this issue since October. This week I was contacted by EA that the issue was fixed (received same email that kitobi-creed did). They did fix everything except for the tap radius. I'm at level 8, but it's acting more like level 1 or 2.

    I contacted support (several times, explaining the same issue several times), and they told me to post on the forums.

    Has anyone else had this issue resolved with the the exception of the tap radius?
  • After chatting with email support a rollback to the last known date when my game was working was done and i was gifted 30 donuts for the inconvenience. However i am still having the same issues. Broken tap radius, broken character icon, once a week monorail game, reset money mountain and giant redwood tree quests and friendship lvl reset. I guess ill try email support again next week.
  • With the newest event that just happened, it did not fix the problem for me at least! I have tried a rollback and I keep bugging them, but they told me that if I kept doing it then they would not help me.

    If they’re not going to help you in any case, then you have nothing to lose by continuing to pester them.

    WOW!!!!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!!

    After my game being broken for nearly 4 months. I went through over 15 EA Customer Service (CS) reps. I was denied a roll back until after completing 6 events and by the time they offered to do a roll back they said I collected too many items so they would not restore any of them (even if I paid real world money for many of those items). So my choice was continue to play a broken game or do a roll back 4 months ago and loose all of the Halloween / Thanksgiving / Black Friday / Cyber Monday / Christmas / New Years items I earned while they denied my roll back request.

    I was not going to loose all of the items I paid for with both time and real world money....so after 4 months I refused the roll back if they would not restore my items accrued while they stalled the roll back.

    But today a CS rep emailed that he fixed my game. I was worried he just rolled back my game and I lost all of my items over the last 4 months. ........

    ......But all my items over the last 4 months were there! AND MY GAME NOW WORKS AGAIN!!!!!!

    I can now use the character button to jump to where a character is. I can now use Rail Yard and earn donuts. My IRS wide radius of clearing in a single tap works again. The mini games all work again.

    So I do not know what he did..........BUT there is a solution that EA has to keep all your current items and design AND Fix A Broken Game with this glitch!!!!!!!!!

    I did give that CS rep this thread link and I did ask him if he could post any help to everyone else in this thread could get the same help or what to tell the CS rep helping you to guide him to this working solution.....hopefully he does post!

    Update: I did discover that there are few things I have to redo that were not restored, like
    1. i have to still re-unlock my characters to be able to craft in SH.
    2. I have to start over in Rail Yard for daily rounds to get to the 5 Donut rewards for each round award again.
    3. I have to start over at level 1 on building items like by big cedar tree and Monty's Mountain of Gold

    But these are a very minor effort to get back up to speed when looking at all the time now saved with playing with a working game.

    Also....in case anyone is curious..... When he fixed my game, I was able to keep all of my donuts and in game cash too!

    Update: Here is the response from the EA CS rep that fixed my game to my request that he look at all the players in this thread and get this fix to help everyone here too:

    Update: I have noticed two other glitches from my game being broken and then fixed......
    • When tapping on the stars, I can see that I should have 493.8% Bonus (not counting hidden XP). My game is actually giving me cash back with a 596.3% Bonus!!!! I now have a mysterious 102.5% Bonus freebie that I should not have. And it does increase at a normal rate if I buy a new item with a Bonus %.
    • I also just had another good glitch. After the fix I had to start over on the Rail Yard rounds, so now, which includes earning the Monorail Tunnels, so now I have 4 Monorail Tunnels going through the mountains between SH and the main town. LOL
